SPEAKER_01

You can see the grief come up and the relief of the mom knowing that her kids are alright. It doesn't mean that she'll have an easier time, but she has a ray of hope now, the light I talk about, that she can still have a relationship with them on the other side. And it still brings tears to my eyes, because I never thought I'd ever see my daughter again. And she came to me physically informed. It's in my book. And it was it changed me. It literally changed me. And so I show these this mom I'll explain a little flower that the daughter made and sewed on a part of her shirt that no one knew about. And so I and I would get more and more samples of from the messages from them. What happened when one was six and one was nine. And so they'd leave crying and sobbing, but feeling like they've made the connection. They didn't lose their child forever.

And sitting in the guest here today is Mark Turters, psychic medium and the author of Become the Light Again. And Mark and I are going to be talking today on the topic finding the deeper meaning of life after the death of a loved one. Welcome, Mark.

SPEAKER_01

Welcome. Thank you for having me, Myrna. I really was looking forward to this, and um I really appreciate it.

SPEAKER_02

You're very welcome. Yes, I'm looking forward to our conversation. All right, so let me give you a short introduction. Mark Charters is a psychic medium life coach and owner of the Blush Center for Healing in Northampton, Massachusetts. Mark has worked in the healing industry for over 30 years, guiding people from all walks of life around the world to find their power and transition through loss, relationships, health crises, and career changes. So, which is basically our topic today. And um yeah, finding your light when you lose someone or whether you're transitioning, um, is very interesting that I just finished reading a book um by the monk Fiknan Han, who is a um a French monk, and uh we spends a lot of time talking about there's no life, there's no death, there's no birth, there's no end because we're all transitioned. So this is a perfect conversation for us to get into about finding the light. So let's set the table for a conversation, Mark. Um, when did you find out that you were a psychic medium? And how did you come to the decision? This is a two-part question. How did you come to the decision to combine it with light coaching?

SPEAKER_01

Well, the the first part of that question, how I became, how did I know I was a psychic medium? I I didn't really uh accept the psychic mediumship within me. I had a few younger experiences, but what really the pivotal change changed, there were two of them. One was when I was on the streets, I was a homeless junkie, really struggling, giving up, ready to end it all, and someone was about to shoot me in a really tough section of town and one of the northeast cities, and I had a psychic vision, and my whole sh future was laid out before me. And that moment, my life changed. Within 10 years, I transformed into a healer, I started helping people, I got back with my family, I worked on things, but I didn't still quite understand that vision. It led me into getting off the streets and movie former. The second biggest one, the most pivotal, is when my daughter died. And that was probably two or three years after uh I got off the streets, after that second vision, but it wasn't till I really got sick and I forgave me my last rights from the stress of her loss. I had an artery rupture and I was gone. They gave me my last rights, they brought me to the point of where I healed again, but she kept coming to me and saying, You have a new mission. I was at the time working in a corporate, and the day that event where I got sick, I got accepted into massage school, and I went into the healing aspect of things and grew that business beyond belief. But while I was doing that, she kept coming and saying, This is your time. You you have a whole nother side of you. And she told me my mother was psychic, my grandmother was psychic. And as I started opening my awareness and letting go of the skepticism within me, I saw it. And then messages more and more came. And then the third, not as pivotal, but a big one, is I went completely deaf 12 years ago. I have electronics that helped me hear in all my aspects, but then she came back tenfold and said, This is the strong message. Now you're deaf, now you're gonna really listen. And my business went from local to within 10 countries without any advertising within four or five months. Now I'm in 20 to 22 countries and it's growing. So there were stages of it for me. I come from a side of my family. My dad was a doctor, cardiologist, taught at Yale. My mom was more of the Italian kind of mystical woman, but she was in a tough situation back in the 60s, so it wasn't really accepted, Italian Catholic, you know, it was almost taboo. So I'm the one that came out with it and really moved it forward. But it I was the worst skeptic, so I can laugh at it now. But I hope that made sense for you to answer that.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, that made a lot of sense. That made a lot of sense. So what you're saying, I have a lot of circle back here because this is a very interesting story, and I love stories. So the first circle back was um you had a vision when you were in uh in a drug or a drug transaction or something, and someone was gonna shoot you, and you saw the vision, and and then your daughter died, and then you got deaf. And so you're right, you went through stages, but you started your story when you were a drug addict living on the streets. But I I was under the impression that when you've got this, this, this, this gift, you're born with it. So did you have any any instances as a child or a young adult?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and and that's what I describe in my book, is that I've gotten, as I look back, I got all these messages. My Grampy came to me when I was eight, he had died, but I kept it quiet because I didn't know no one taught me anything. And I had a lot of other struggles in our family, so there was a lot of shame and guilt and and grief and loss and things, and so I would get messages all the time, and I look back and I saw how my mom was struggling with her psychic ability, along with other struggles of drinking and things like that. So I I saw it, and in as I explain in the book, it was there from day one, and I even talk about it in my book. Like I was born psychic in between a family of six kids, you know, all a year apart, and I would pick up on everything. I was an empath and I'd feel everything, but I shut it down because it was too much. So that's the skeptic in fear that I talk about.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, and do you think that's that you said that your mom was trying to push down her psychic bio? She also said you became a drug addict. So why do you think you went into that field? Why did you think you started taking drugs?

SPEAKER_01

Well, what it was was I struggled like my mom. I'm more like her than anyone else in the family. And and she had it tough. She had six kids in a matter of eight years, and a father that a husband that was a really well-known psych or a cardiologist. So she didn't have a lot of support. She drank, she went through struggles, was taken away from us to put in a hospital. So there were all these other things that came in. But she would just randomly say things and they would happen. And she said, Someone's gonna call right now, and they would call. Things like that. But she never had the support. My dad was a scientist, extremely talented, bright, was gifted in many ways, drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers, you know, like was all state in basketball, brand, really smart and is cardiologist, but his empathy was tough to the family. And I you know how all families can be like that. So I just didn't want to go in that direction because I thought if I use this, I'm gonna turn out like my mom. And so I shut things down. But what it was was I did fall apart like my mom. And and that was a blessing because that gift allowed me to open up the whole side of me, which made me love her more and love myself more, if that makes sense.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you well, you you became empathetic towards your mom, understanding what she went through. Okay, all right. So that was the far the first part of the question. Um, how did you um uh become a how did you embrace being a psychic medium? And the second part was that you were uh you're not only a psychic medium, but you're also a life coach. How did you decide it to put those two together?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I kind of fell into it, but what it was was I was a healer, I'm a massage therapist, I've worked in LA, New York, had a really thriving business with movie stars, business people, everything. But COVID ended everything in one day. I had a 30-year, 25-year business end in one day. And then that's when I wrote the book. But what happened was I started seeing clients, and instead of just telling them their mother loved them or their grandmother loved them as coming through, I would get messages, you're not listening to your power. And then and I and then I started Googling. There's not many life coaches that go by the base, most life coaches, and I have no, I'm not saying this offensively, is that they have a lot of systems they use to teach and educate their clients. I don't use a system, I just listen to what the client is supposed to listen to, and then channel messages from loved ones to help them open that door that's been shut from pain or grief or loss, and people move forward. So I teach them that they have the tools within them, and I show them those tools. So I brought those two together and it's quite successful. I'm in, it just keeps growing and it's all word of mouth, you know?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Well, I can understand why it's successful because um in life coaching, people are coming uh to us because they don't like where they are. Wherever they are, they want to go someplace else. And when they come into the coaching conversation, it's because they're hoping that you will show them the way, um, how to get from here to there, right? So you're right. Life coaches, they listen, they talk about your past, they give you clarity, you know, they tell you what your strengths and weaknesses are or whatever. But you're doing something different. I mean, from what I'm hearing, is that you were channeling uh uh the psychicness from past ancestors or people that they they loved, and you're saying, Well, you know what? Your mom is saying that you've got this strength, and people listen more. Is that what's going on?

SPEAKER_01

Right. Yes, exactly. Right and and what happens is that I'll uh an example. Say I share with you you're a client, and I go, at four years old, you witness your dad shooting your mom, and your dad's coming and saying, That's why you're not connecting to anyone now, and you're shutting yourself down, and and trust that they're here to love you now from the other side, and then the client, like you, starts crying and releases this whole block, and all of a sudden doors open. That's how it is. It it has a deep spiritual and and and emotional component to it that brings a lot of time together, past, now, and the future.

SPEAKER_02

So if that clarifies it a little bit for you, I I'm feeling you, I understand it perfectly because we know that um a lot of times people are resistant to change. You know, you're talking about change versus transformation. You know, my pastor had this message once, and he's talking about people can change for three months. You know, but when you transform, you're transformed forever because it's something happens to transform you. Summer is here, and if you're planning to upgrade your outdoor space, now is the time. But you don't really change because then you you fall back into old patterns. But you release that because, you know, like you've given this example that um uh somebody's coming from the other side and saying, you know, this is why you've shut down, this is why you don't trust anybody. And you're actually pointing out to them something that happens when they're four-year-olds and you didn't know them when they're four-year-olds. So trust. It builds trust and it actually allows them to really transform instead of pretending, right? So that's what I think.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and and one of the biggest things I build in my clients is trust. I'm really consistent and really sure, but I'm also very trans um transparent. I share them my suffering. A lot of people keep that background. I don't believe that for me. I let them know that I was homeless, that I've lost children, that I've lost parents, that I gave up, I tried killing myself three times. I went through. So it it gives, and they see where I am right now, and then it gives them a level of trust. Like, he's not just giving me a lecture. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_02

Right. Yes. Listen, I hear, you know, a lot of times, well, 90% of the times, life coaches coach on something that they have experienced and uh they've gone through it and they've they've been successful. So for instance, someone that has been in an abusive relationship becomes a coach for abusive women, or you know, it's it's very rare, or someone has lost a husband or like you, a child, then they they they they coach people through that experience. It's very rare that you come across someone that is in the coaching profession, just basically on theory. In fact, I was I was interviewing uh a coach the other day, and she was telling me that when she was in was in coaching school, she decided to go into the niche of grief counseling. And she learned all this grief counseling and all that, but never actually been through it until her husband died. And then I said to her, Did it make a difference from the theory to the practical? And she said, Yes, because you actually have to walk through it. And it can't be just theory and book knowledge. You have to have the theory, book knowledge, because um, I'm assuming you went to coaching school, right? Yes, yeah, you got that, you got the theory, but you also have the personal experience. And people like that because you're right. If you can go from a drug addict, homeless, wanting to kill yourself, you know, all that stuff, and have a profitable business, now people are seeing that you were the caterpillar and now you were the butterfly. You've been through the tunnel, right? And who can and who else has the the the power to help them through it than someone has been through it, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and and and the ironic credibility is that I got a bachelor's degree in addictive studies, like addiction and alcoholism. Yet I was an alcoholic and addict while I was learning it, but it came in handy after I got sober and started saying those are what those theories are about. And then I was able to reapply it to help it with moms who have lost kids and and and husbands and things like so life is funny, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Like say life mimics theory or something like that, there is a saying about that, right? Yes. So all right, so that's a that's a perfect introduction. Now I understand now why you have focused. I think, at least, I think, right. That's basically your niche. You're helping people to become the light again. That's the, you know, the name of your book. And uh most of my questions are going to be going in that particular vein. But you, you, you, you gave a um a very sad example of this topic when you said that as a psychic medium, you helped a mom find her light after losing two of her children, or only two children, I should say, um, from drug addose and suicide in one year. No, you talk about losing your daughter and how it crushed you. And and we all know that the worst pain that you can have as a parent is losing your child because you're not supposed to bury your children. But having two in one year, how is she still sane? How is she whatever?

SPEAKER_01

So tell us, how did you Well it's it it was I I get this quite a lot. There's a quite an epidemic of suicide and overdoses going on in our our world now, and so I've gotten this more than once. Like this has happened more than once. But what it is is that a person will come in like this woman, and she came in like not far after she lost her second child, and all I do is sit there and and feel for her and feel it, not out of like um pity, but out of love. And but then they most people who come to me who have lost children in that way, mostly I had 70% of my clients are women, and when they come, their children come quite immediately, always, almost always, and they give me bits of information to like in this situation, both of them gave me information no one knew but her to show them that they are here and they want her to live her life. She's gonna have grief, she'll have pain, like to the point of no return, but she'd found a ray of hope, knowing most moms think when their kids die that they go to an awful place. Not I don't mean hell, I mean like that their mom they can't mom them anymore, so they're worried about them. Once they come through and show them they're alright and they're with love, that they're unconditional love now, and they've turned the tide to say, now we're here to love you. And you can see the grief come up and the relief of the mom knowing that her kids are alright. It doesn't mean that she'll have an easier time, but she has a ray of hope now, the light I talk about, that she can still have a relationship with them on the other side. And it still brings tears to my eyes because I never thought I'd ever see my daughter again. And she came to me physically in form. It's in my book, and it was it changed me. It literally changed me. And so I show these this mom, I'll explain a little flower that the daughter made and sewed on a part of her shirt that no one knew about. And so I and I would get more and more samples of from the messages from them. What happened when one was six and one was nine, and so they'd leave crying and sobbing, but feeling like they've made the connection. They're not they didn't lose their child forever. Do you understand? They have physically, but not spiritually, on the energetic level. And and I think when we lose someone, we think it's over, our life is it. But our life changes and we gain something from it. We start looking at life different. And I think that's when that's what how the light came back with this woman. Do you understand? And she's moving forward, playing music and and writing songs about them and doing what she can do in her own way to make connection. Not all the time, but okay. Does that make sense?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it makes sense, but again, I have a lot of questions on it. Yes. So, um, yeah, like I started off this conversation by saying that um, you know, I talk specifically about a book that I'm just finished reading by Thiknan Han. Yeah. That talks about the fact that um we never die, we just transition, right? Yeah. But it's not like I didn't know that before. You know, as a Christian, we all know that there's, you know, Christians believe in eternal life. And and uh, you know, I follow all the um the Indian gurus that all talk about the same thing that, you know, that you transition. Um but yeah, people, I mean the maybe in the Western world, maybe in the Eastern world, that they don't feel the same way. We always grieve over debt. Um and yeah, people go to psychic mediums like yourself, and they are able to communicate with the dead. Um one of the one of my interviews that I had on this on the show that's left a profound impact on me is a lady that um her husband, I mean her son almost exactly, like you said, her husband, her son took um heroin for the first time and overdosed on it. And um she was um in another country and uh they called her and said that he had just died. And you know, when she was at the airport, he presented himself to her in physical form. She saw him at the airport and she says uh she went into a panic saying that, oh my god, he's still alive. And she's telling him to go go into the casket because he's still alive. He just anyway. So, and then, you know, she uh was able to see him um uh flirting around as a bird, and then uh she went to a psychic medium and talked to him and all that, and he he told her it was a bonehead move and things like that. So the first question I have is Did this woman find peace by her sons or son and daughter? I think he's the one who was a female, that told her why they did it or did they explain that at all?

SPEAKER_01

Or um the what I've learned in in this situation and in all death is death has been timed a million years ago. Like we all have a lever. Now I I share with this woman that once I got to know her a little more, not the first time, that I literally tried to kill myself three times. It it failed. I literally had 30 sleeping pills and a six-pack of beer. I shouldn't have been dead twice, and I wasn't. And and what messages come from Spear and from the loved ones is it was my time. It was my time. Whether they overdosed, had an accident, died in their sleep, suicide. I've had people that have shot themselves in the head that lived like it wasn't their time, and I slowly bring this in. I don't say, you know, it was their time right away. As they people get to gain trust in me, they ask questions. And with her, I told her like it was for some reason it was their time, and you can spend your life killing yourself, figuring out how it would have been another way to live, or you can feel the grief, struggle with it, and start relating to them as they are now. We're always here, we're either in physical form or spiritual form. Our spirit realm is powerful, it's God, it's the universal love, it's Christ, whatever, it's the huge energy, and it's timeless. But we have very little time on this planet Earth, and it's timed planned a long time ago, and we don't know the full outcome. And I think with this mom, she can't see the bigger picture yet because of the trauma. And but what I try to gently do is bring in the bigger picture over a time. It's not easy, nothing's easy on this life plan, but it can be easier if we understand that it's not in anyone's control but the higher being when we come and go. And I think that's biblical. You read stories about that. I I hope that made myself I hope made myself clear on that one.

SPEAKER_02

I'm I'm like feeling you, I'm like in touch with you. I mean, I go deep into conversations and I am very intellectual and I, you know, I'm empty too, and I'm feeling all that. So, but what you're saying is profound. I mean, I I hope that love.

SPEAKER_01

Love is powerful, it's really the bottom line to everything.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, I mean, uh, I wasn't even gonna go there, but since you brought that up, um uh we, you know, I've also had like this is life school for me. This is why I love this work. I read books and I come on this show and I talk to people, right? And I've spoken to several people that had near date experiences, and they all said that the love is so profound when they go on the other side that they don't want to come back. None of them want to come back, but they get sent back because it's not their time. So that's what I want to focus on, really, about the fact that whenever you die, it's your time. It's so I didn't want people to miss that. So even though people grieve, you know, um uh again, I've just come to the awareness that um we always think that we're gonna die a lot longer than we actually are. You know what I mean? So we're all thinking that, you know, everybody dies, but I'm gonna die like in my 80s or my 90s or whatever. And even if you think you're gonna die in your 60s or whatever, my point is we never actually think that we're gonna die when we do, right? It always comes as a surprise, right? Unless for, you know, um, I was just reading something. Um and I and I read it all the time, not just one person. But when you've got cancer, right? Yeah, it's one of those things that they tell you, hey, you got six months to live, right? Or you got a year to live or or whatever. You know, a lot of times they give you six months and you die in two months, or or sometimes they give you six months and you live for 10 years. But you know that you're gonna die. So then you start making plans and you you start putting your house in order and all that. But unless that happens, most of us are surprised when debt shows up. So what you what you're doing, what your your work that you're doing, and what you just you know, uh just put out here in the universe, is that her kids, that was their time, right? Like for instance, that's a typic good example. The woman that I was just talking to you about, she said her son was 6'4, 200 and something pounds, and he took one shot of heroin and it killed him, right? And obviously was his time, right? And there's somebody, some scrawny little person that's like a buck fifty and is doing the same dose and doesn't kill them. So you're right. It's it's it's his time, you know. You you never know when it's your time. So so what you're saying is that she doesn't get comfort by, you know, um uh they're explaining why they took the drug or why they committed suicide. She gets comfort by knowing that they're still alive in spirit form and they love her and they want her to go on with her life. Is that the is that the message here? Yes.

SPEAKER_01

And and I think the biggest lesson, not a lesson, but the awareness is that when we lose a loved one or we face a death close to death, we start accepting our mortality. And that's when we live. The moment we choose to accept our mortality, we live in the moment because I could talk to you now and go, Oh, fall, hit my head, and I'm gone. Like so appreciate. And they want us to just appreciate the beauty of breath, to just be able to get up and eat a cracker or eat a bagel, or you know, it's that simple, but we've gotten our culture and the technology and the thing, which are all beautiful, they're all gifts from God, but it can take us away from what the truth is to live on this planet, and that is to live in the moment, and that's what every loved one, whether they're two or ninety on the other side, tell me to spread that message to the their loved ones, because you have nothing else.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, yes. Again, I mean, I'm actually right in that space right now, you know. Um like I said, Thik Nong Han as a monk, he's talking about appreciating your breath, appreciating your eyes, appreciating your heart, right? Appreciating that you're alive, right? Instead of worrying and fearful, because the book is about fear, be fearful of things you appreciate. And even this morning I woke up and I started appreciating the fact that my heart works and my eyes can see the beautiful sky. And I even added something that wasn't even in the book, appreciate problems, because you know, someone else will tell you that if you got no problems, you're six feet under. So appreciate things. But I tell you, you know that 95% of people live unconsciously and don't appreciate anything, they're going around working like worker bees and and and and and and being stressed, which is why people commit suicide because they're they're like not enjoying life, right? They want to go.

SPEAKER_01

So and they're being haunted by past fears. Yes, and once they can address that, and I have people that have tried to kill themselves that still aren't seeing where that thing came from, where the and I help channel that. I have psychiatrists refer to me, religious people reflect religious like leaders refer to me, therapists. So I work deeply on those levels, and it's it's really about acceptance that we're all not perfect, and we once we realize we're not unique, we become close to humanity and feel the love of humanity. But we all have our path to get there. Sometimes it's you don't have to go through loss. Like some people live really lives and they can transform by just losing a job and starting up. But you know, some people like this woman lost a lot, and then like me, I've lost my brother, my daughter, my wife almost died, I almost died, my dad died, all within like a short amount of time. That was my path. I was stubborn, my heart was shut down, and I laughed because it's like that's what it would take to help me to start appreciating life. But it took a long time, it's not like I'm this person that just clicks and then I'm better. It's a process, and I'm sure all of us have strong wills that we have to let go a little to embrace that, if that makes sense.

SPEAKER_02

No, it makes perfect sense. And you are talking true about the hard-headed people, the people that you have to hit rock bottom before they change. And even then, I think I was reading a book once, and people, and this guy was saying that you know, people leave a, you know, that they've just been given a diagnosis that they have lung cancer, and a doctor tells them not to smoke, and he looks outside and they're outside smoking because they um uh they they can't transform, they can't do it. So there's a lot of people that can't do it. And there is a few people that, yes, when they hit rock bottom, you know, they transform. In fact, this morning I was reading, listening to something about quantum energy, and there's that that um uh sometimes you don't need to go through the process, that people can transform in a dime, you know what I mean? They just they just get there. But yeah, I mean, so it's like that they were talking about all different kinds of people. You know, once you say that you need help, you come to a life coach, you come to a psychic medium, you read a book, you know, and you you someone dies, and you figure that you know what, tomorrow is not promised. I mean, I live my life knowing that tomorrow is not promised, right? But um uh do I live my life appreciating every breath? I don't, but I don't I'm the same way.

SPEAKER_01

I don't appreciate. I get mad and get frustrated, and then I'm like, okay, what's the priority here? Something'll happen. Like, I'll be really mad at something going to work, and I turn around and I look, and there's a homeless person that looks like me 30 years ago, and I'm like, what am I complaining about?

SPEAKER_02

And that that hit my heart right here. Yes, yes, right, my goodness. Because yes, I have this big empathy too, and I and I and I and I yes, that touched me right there, you know, talking about yes, that we're yeah, you know, I I look at my fridge, it's overflowing with food, and I and I'm aware that I'm blessed, you know what I mean? Because I have food. You talk about, you know, listen to people that that have to survive on a a piece of bread and all day, whatever. So that yeah, that hurts my heart right now. Yes, but especially in America, people don't appreciate what they have, right? Because they live in an abundant world.

SPEAKER_01

And I th I think it's human, it's humanness because wherever there's success, we get caught up. Like if if you go to a really poor country and eventually they become really successful, they'll have the same struggles. It's like it's not it's like when we have nothing, we appreciate whatever it is we have. But but but when we get material success, I think immaterial success is a beautiful thing, it's not a bad thing because you can use it to give out to the world, right? Exactly. But if it becomes your jail, that's a different story, and it's a perspective and a choice, but if that's beautiful.

SPEAKER_02

All right, well, let's talk about the light now again. So that's different for me. So, how does loss and heartbreak teach us the deeper meaning in life and uh to find our light again? You know, I know that we are light, we are energy, we never see it, we think we're mass. Um uh and uh yeah, so talk up talk about this light, become the light.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Well, I I use the light. The light is is is spirit realm, it's love, it's energy, it's in its pure form. We all have it within us, around us, it's always there. But what happens is our egos from trauma, we have good egos, positive egos, but we have survival egos, egos that shut out the light because of fear. And so what I try to do is um teach people that our worst tragedies become our gifts to start looking at what it is to find purpose and meaning in our life. And I kind of hinted that with the woman that came in that lost two children, but in another situation, I had a person come to me, their husband just left, left, outright left. They'd been in a relationship for like 25 years, 26 years, and went just left, and she was heartbroken. Once I had showed her the patterns of why she married someone that kept abandoning her, it came from something when she was like seven or eight. The grief just came up and out, and behind that grief the light came, the love. Because she blamed herself for her dad leaving and shut down. Completely the love, the self-love that she deserved, and then created pattern upon pattern and attracted men that just abandoned her. It wasn't her dad's fault. He made choices to hurt her, but she made the choice to say it was my fault. Because you're kids, you think that way. But she's now a 47 or 53-year-old kid, you know, and uh the seven-year-olds running her. So I bring that up that I love her just for who she is, not romantic love, just be acceptance to her. And all of a sudden she a light goes off, and it's like, oh my god, I never thought that. And then she came in the next time, different outfit on, was like, I'm taking an art class, I moved my I got rid of my house, and I'm living in an apartment, and I feel like I'm a like a 13-year-old starting to live again. And she started reliving the that ego that died, that killed her, and now she's living from her heart again. That's the love, it's the light. It's very simple. It's not like this, yes, there is a white light. I talk about the blue light that literally I was so far gone, I needed something quite a few times to wake me up. But a lot of people can shift, and women I find can shift quicker. And I don't mean that you know, demeaning to men, but what it is is they sacrifice, they're the highest beings on this planet. I can channel spirit through. You can bring spirit into your body and bring them into the physical realm. That's godlike. Do you understand? So you already have an ability to sacrifice and understand unconditional love, but you're taught, at least what I've learned from working with a lot of, they're taught at a young age to shut themselves out from pain, from family struggles. It's not a blame thing, it's not a point of finger, it's just life. And so the light is the love that we shut out, but it has a powerful resonance to it, whether it's energetic, physical, emotional, spiritual, it can come in many ways. And I've experienced it. All my clients experience it, and that's why they stay me. Some are up 10 years now, they keep coming, you know, and stuff like that. I hope that was it clarified a little bit what your question was.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, well, I totally got that wrong because I do a meditation regarding, you know, being the light, and I'm visualizing light, and I'm visualizing the light of my soul. And you know what I mean? I'm not thinking of love light, I'm thinking of actually a bright light, like this light that's on me right now. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And it is that too. It's just as much that. But but you like I have some clients, they visualize the light and they see it, but they don't love themselves. And and they've gone on all these journeys, like to Costa Rica or to spiritual, but they're still not loving themselves, so they keep going outward for the light, or even thinking it. But then when I they come to me and I address the initial pain of why they're searching that light, and that comes up, then it all comes together and it's like, look out, because they just move forward.

SPEAKER_02

If that's if that makes sense, a different form of this is a different approach to self-love. I love it. Y'all know that we need to love self first, right? And so it's in the Bible. You need to, if you can't love yourself, you can't love anybody else, right? So it always comes into self-love. But I've never heard um uh the approach to finding self-love by finding it behind the light, behind the um the energy of of your pain. That's beautiful. I love it.

SPEAKER_01

Well, our our pain, our suffering, and Christ talks about that. It's our suffering when we give to it. I don't mean stay in self-pity and hate, but when we grieve our pain, the light the the feeling of relief. I don't know if you experience, but after when I I didn't do that and my artery ruptured two years after my daughter died, when I started crying, I felt her presence more and I felt relaxed. Grief is a tool uh from the gods, but we've taught ourselves in our culture that it's our enemy, and it's becoming now changing again that it's a vital part of our existence as humans to transcend a little bit. A lot, actually. And my whole book is about grief. It's about it was the grief I made a friend of mine, and it allowed me to overcome every difficulty I was challenged with.

SPEAKER_02

Now I need to get a copy of this book because I love it. I love learning things, and you're opening up a whole new world for me. And uh I know a lot and I learn a lot. Like I told you, I'm in life school every single day. But that is that is different. No, I know that grief, again, um uh I have not really experienced it in my own life because I've only had a grandma that's died, and she died in her 80s, so it wasn't weird, think it's her time kind of thing. But um, I haven't really physically experienced it. But I've talked to a lot of people about this topic of grief, and that it's always there, and it just it's like a wave that comes and goes, and it never really goes away. So explain, go deeper into what you're actually saying. So you stick with your grief and feel it, and that's when you're open like a flower.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Here's an example, and I and I use myself because um I've been through this a lot, is two years after my daughter died, it was a wall, like a wall hitting me, like a train hitting me constantly. And I'd be up all night, my stomach would hurt, even after the surgery, and then I started to learn what is this? So I'd play music that would make me cry, or I'd watch a show, and I'd start sobbing, and all of a sudden it was like I don't feel that anymore. I don't feel the train hitting me. Or in another example is I was married for 25 years, divorced, and I'm remarried now and with my wife for 14 years. But when I was single, right after that divorce, I would have a day of total panic, isolation, darkness, thinking my world's over. Then 10 minutes later, I put on a song and sob. And then 10 minutes later, my life was great. Do you see what I mean? The grief is there to help us cleanse ourselves. Now, not the there's a difference between being like emotionally unstable and just staying sad and depressed. There's a place for that, but I'm talking about when things pile up. But a lot of anger, rage, depression, anxiety, the bottom line is grief. It's this it's the bottom quarter connecting to the the love within us. And once that starts to flow, it's like it comes up and it does come in waves, but the more we accept it, the less power it has over us. Like I can drive to work and get a memory of my sister or my I'm sorry, my daughter, and just start sobbing. And then by the time I'm at work, I see my next client. I'll tell them, oh, I was crying all the way to work. Don't worry about it. Like it doesn't have the power over me. Does that make it a little clearer to you?

SPEAKER_02

Makes it a lot clearer. Well, it's I I would put that into the bucket of cleansing when you sob. You cleanse. Right. You're putting it in the bucket of you know, uh, you're using the grief to um same bucket, but you know, I'm calling it something.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, I mean and it could be a grief over a job loss over it, just trigger from old things that we've taught ourselves that aren't true, but the grief can bring up to help us see a different way.

SPEAKER_02

I love it. So, like I said, I mean, um reading this book on fear, you're talking and talking about embracing the fear. It's it's almost you know, a different word. Fear, grief, you bring it up, you sit with it, you you know, and the more you bring it up, then the less hold it has on you. So grief is the same thing, it's just an interchange of words. But maybe we could maybe it's everything, whether it's you know, all the negative emotions, if you if you play with them in the same exact way, then uh um uh it doesn't have the hold on you anymore. So uh that is beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

I've uh you know it's a powerful tool, and fear is is in action. Grief is action because it you're moving, you're something you're making a choice to change something, you're feeling, and all of a sudden the the the energetic parts of our body change. Fear keeps us locked in what we think something's gonna happen. Once we face grief, we it's in the moment, so it flows through us, so it leaves us to accept the moment, and that's where the power in God is then. If that makes sense.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, it makes sense. Wow, I got a lot from this conversation, Mark. Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

It's a pleasure. I'm really I you you helping me understand things for this. It's so beautiful, these discussions. I love those.

SPEAKER_02

I am totally enjoying this. I'm definitely gonna pick up a copy of your book. So tell our listeners now. Um, so why exactly did you write the book? I mean, did you write the book to share these stories, to let people know that anyway, yes. So why exactly did you write the book? And um what do you want people to walk away with after reading?

SPEAKER_01

Spirit told me to write this book like 15 years ago, but it wasn't ready. And when COVID hit, I wrote it within three months. It took two years to edit, but I wrote like 70,000 words in three months, and just really what the book is about is that we all struggle. Life hits us hard at some times. We have two choices to run back in in and stay in self-pity and anger and rage, which is fine, there's no time frame for that, or we could start accepting the struggle, whatever it is, and start looking for meaning in it. And that these events that happen to us can be the most awful things, but once we get to us, it's it's to transcend us from the physical plane of thinking we're in total control of our lives to the spiritual plane of realizing we are just little beings that are being webbed with everything else around in the world. And if we can tune into that, the doors open tremendously. You talk to most successful, famous, unfamous, regular people, they'll tell you stories of how it they got to this point. And and so that was I wrote it in the sense of short stories throughout the book, but it's the beginning of me at birth going up to a point, crashing completely, and then the beauty of rebuilding once I let go of my old fears. But it didn't happen overnight. I still had fears, you know. My mom and brother died in the same year, and they were the two closest out of all my family. My best friend died the same year, and so it's like I can't, and that was not too long ago, and I still get faced with it, but they come to me and they give me gifts. So I put all these stories in to show people that there's hope. No matter it's really a book about love and hope. Love, loss, and finding the light again. And and I've gotten really good responses from people from all walks of life. They're like, My God, I can I feel like my life can get better now, or something. So it makes me feel really good. And my daughter made me write it, she got on me. She's so and you'll see to Rachel, who taught me to love again, is in the beginning and to believe in miracles. So it's it's that's what it's all about.

SPEAKER_02

I love it. I love it. Well, guys, hey, if you're not excited to go pick up a copy of this book, something is wrong with you. Because I'm excited to go pick up a copy of this book. So the book is called Become Become the Light Again, right? So, where can our listeners um uh pick up a copy? Tell us about your website. You offer uh a tremendous amount of um you know benefit or skill. So tell people how they can get in touch with you.

SPEAKER_01

And yeah. You know, there's a couple ways they can do it. One is if they go to www.medium lifecoach.com. That is a website. They could just press a button, it'll lead right to the book, but also it'll give you all the information about if you want a session or if you want to connect to me. Uh, the other one is markchartersmedium at gmail.com, and they can text me or or they can call, I'm sorry, email me and and do that. If they go to the website, they can text me, call me, email me. All the information is on those two. Um, the other is through Facebook, Mark Charters Medium Life Coach. And I also have a side thing where I do the the mealtime mystic. I'm a pastry chef and I'm bringing family food and psychic medium together in a TV show I'm slowly creating. I have the media and trademark rights, but as you know, it takes time to develop things. So there's a lot of things out there that can connect to me through those. And so, and I would be happy to help anyone. It doesn't matter your age, your background, your sex, your your I I work with interpreters in all over the world, so it doesn't matter what language you speak, because it's all the same. Love comes through from loved ones.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, wow, wow. So, Mark, like I I totally enjoyed our conversation. I totally enjoyed learning from you. I'm gonna continue my learning, my picking up a copy of your book. Love the stories, loved what we talked about as far as you know, my biggest takeaway um from it was the or sample woman that um lost two children in one year. And and even the lady that her husband walked away after 25 years, you know, these are things that we all know that pushes us to, you know, pain. There's a purpose for it, right? And pain, there's so many books out there that that talk about pain to purpose because that's usually that's usually how we we get to our purpose. But you know, you're showing it based on our loved ones coming back and from the medium point of view. So I love it. I love every every every moment of our conversation. I hope that you guys that were listening got a lot out of this. So um uh if you head over to the show page, which is myhelps.us, you will find a summary of my conversation with Mark. I will link out to his website, link out to his book, and link out to his Facebook page so you can um, you know, keep on learning and um working with him. And um, yeah, you know, if you want to reach out to Mark to um have him help you see the light because you're in darkness right now, then of course he would love to do that for you. So, yes, I um totally enjoyed this conversation and I hope that you guys got a lot of it as well. And that, you know, as we're broadcasting worldwide that um, you know, the world will see his light. So as we wrap up, Mark, any last words?

SPEAKER_01

I just want to thank you so much and and to tell folks out there that no matter what difficult situation they're in, there's always hope and love right around the corner.
