Hey welcome. It's still mine Dave again, uh cheapwinefinder.com. This is the first of our uh Halloween wines. A little early, but eh. Not too early enough to start planning. This is for Halloween parties, and we have a uh what do we have here? Wine I found a target for$11.99. It is the 19 Crimes, the Mummy Hard Shard. 19 Crimes is a label out of a brand out of Australia. It is a huge hit. It's one of the biggest um wine brands in the world. Uh they recently, you know, in 2022, I think it was, they sold 5 million cases, which is 60 million bottles of wine. This is a non-vintage wine, and I imagine it's non-vintage because binding 60 million uh bottles of grapes uh is gonna be hard for any year. So, what is a hard shard? Well, I'm not sure, but it has an alcohol to content of um 16%. Now the thing I remember about Australia is that when they put the the number on the label, it often the actual numbers come later, and it can be within one and a half percent. So this could be 17.5%. I doubt if it is, because it's a Chardonnay. Back in the days of Shiraz Maustralia, 15% was big, 15.5, but a 16% Chardonnay? It's kind of kind of wild. Oh here's the thing: it's got a picture of the mummy in yellow and green and black. It's a pretty cool picture. It glows in the dark, and it has a thing for your phone if you follow the link on the back label and take it and put your camera on the bottle. Your label comes alive with a monster talking about stuff. So for a party trick, this thing is pretty good. It's got a great label, and this is just a this is a wine that doesn't last. I think they have um I think they have Frankenstein out there, and I think Frankenstein Mrs. Frankenstein. And the mummy is sometimes hard to find. So how is it? It it is well, it it's not bad, but it's a it's a decent Chardonnay. The alcohol does kick in though. You know what's there, I'm gonna have a sip. It's hard to it's hard to hide 16% in a red wine. It's really hard on a white wine. It's in there better than I figure would be. And if you're and this is strictly a party wine, I would imagine every your guests would not notice after the first half of the first glass, or at least by the second glass. You know, if you're just sipping without anything, without any food or anything, it might um it might be noticeable, but like I said, it's it's more integrated into the wine than it possibly should be. And in the Chardonnay, it's fairly good. Now, 19 Crimes also has a regular Australian uh Chardonnay, and they also have Martha Stewart's um Chardonnay, and that one's from California. So this is a third Chardonnay, the hard shard. I mean, if you're still in sipping, I'd grab one of the other ones for 19 Crimes because you can catch them. I mean, you can catch them pretty much anywhere. You can catch them in uh wine shops, supermarkets, anywhere. So that's kind of um the cool thing about this. The bottle is you know, 12 bucks. I got it for the bottle, and I've seen it, I've seen it on sale for less. I just didn't find that sale. The bottle is almost worth the price, especially as a party wine. You know, if you know, as a special occasion wine, Frank uh the mummy on the label, and it is a kind of a cool picture of the mummy. He does not look happy, and he's yellow and green, so and it kind of looks like a young Boris Karloff on top of it, who was like the original mummy. So there you go. So it's um it's more bottle than what's in the bottle, but when the bottle isn't bad, it's perfectly good party wine. It is a, like I said, a perfectly good party wine. It tastes okay, it's got a little bit too much alcohol, but if you're having a party, you're not really gonna notice it. And I'm not overly noticing it now, just sipping it while I'm thinking about it, while I'm actually giving it attention. Okay, sip. Is it the most uh delicious Chardonnay in the world? No, you probably wouldn't buy this if you're into Chardonnay. I mean, just just to buy it. But your regular bottle of Chardonnay doesn't have a monster on the label. So, you know what can you do about that? So, there you go for Halloween, and that's what this is for. It's a it's a limited edition. Get it early if you want, uh if you want to pick one, though. The uh Bride of Frankenstein, the Frankenstein bottles are for two, but I think they're red wines, if I'm not mistaken. So, um there you go, the 19 crimes, the mummy hard shard. Got a kick to it, if you don't mind a little alcohol. You're gonna have a party. Uh, you might as well have a little alcohol. And uh I think I've got uh Dearly Beloved IV Red coming up, which is the day of the day, Trader Joe's wine. We'll we'll hit that one in a couple of days. I'm not sure we're gonna go. This isn't a big year for having different new releases of wines. It's kind of off. You know, they're just not um they're not taking chances. But uh, there you go. Uh 19 crimes, the mummy hard shard. Good a good party wine with a bottle that's worth the price. So, adios, keep it cheap, and I'll be talking to you in a couple days. Bye bye.
