Chasing Rain Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

This is a legitimate twenty-dollar wine.

I found it to be a ten-dollar wine.

The wine industry is down, and there are bargains to be had!

This wine was reviewed as a bargain at $20.

At ten dollars, it is a revelation.

Hey Domain Dave, cheapwinefinder.com. Again. If you want the written review with the pictures and the uh all the links to pertinent items, it's on the cheapwinefinder.com website. Today we've got a uh a value price wine that I guess is a value price wine all the time, but there's an explanation here. This is the Chasing Rain Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2023. It's a wine that sells for between 20 and 25, but a local, large local wine shop spirits everything, uh sold it for 10 bucks. The wine industry is down. Spirits, everything's down about 14%. Um, and to get people in the door, they had two sales. One was a uh$40 wine for$20, and the other was a$20 wine for$10. And as a cheap wine finder, I took the cheap one. And we have uh this uh Columbia Valley wine. Uh Red Mountain is kind of in the middle, lower middle of the Columbia Valley. Uh Yakima Valley is to the west, Horsehaven Hills to the south, and Walla Walla is to the east. And it's an excellent place, especially for Cabinet Sauvignon. And if you want a value priced, really good, easy to drink, um, because Washington State wines tend to have like really good fruit to them without being fruit bombs. Um, this is a great place to have it. Uh, like I said, this is a wine that should not be 10 bucks, and it reviewed as a bargain wine of 20. Um, let's see, it's uh what's what's the winemaker's name? It's uh Joshua Maloney. Uh it's it's from a vineyard. They uh Raul Chavez is the uh vineyard manager. So either they have a couple of different uh vineyards there, or this is from a single vineyard, and always uh they're talking about um they're talking about how it's a single vineyard wine. So this is a$10 single vineyard winemaker wine from a really good AVA. And it's not really a$10 wine, but my my my wallet says so. So what do we have here? We have like uh well what uh it's actually like 94% uh Cabernet Sauvignon, it's about 4% Malbeck and 2% Petit Fordeaux. Those are all Bordeaux uh grapes proved in Bordeaux, so they all go well with Cabernet Sauvignon, and it's been 18 months in oak. It was um fermented in stainless steel, uh but 18 months in oak, uh American oak, not French oak, which is a different, it's gonna have a different character than uh a Bordeaux wine because American oak has a whiter grain to it and it has different flavors and parts. There are two different species of oak, but um you're you know, for American, you're kind of used to the American uh um flavors that it comes in. You know, if French people might go, oh my god, but no, we're kind of used to it and like it. So 18 months of oak, 30% new. Uh new oaks are gonna import uh impart more of their influence into the wine than the other ones. There are various stages of being used, and every time you use it, it gives off a little less. So there you go. Took a sip, it has really fine tannins. You know, a good Cabernet Sauvignon always should have tannins. It's this chemically thing that happens, it's in the skin of the grapes, and it needs to be controlled because it can dry your mouth off. Um, you know, that's why a lot of food is food one because they have strong tannins. You put the food in there and the tannins calm themselves down. This one has fine tannins. You don't dry your mouth up. You can have it with food, of course. You should have it with food. Uh, but this is at 10 bucks, you can have it anywhere from a, you know, well, there's no cheap steaks anymore. But you can have it with a steak or chipotle, you know. Well, it doesn't matter. This is a good bargain. And I don't know if everybody out there is gonna be able to find this at this price. It's probably gonna be at 20, 25 in most places, but you gotta keep an eye out because these these wines are. I mean, the the distributor probably offered this to the wine shop because they they or the liquor store, because they have a um, they sell a lot of wine. So there's this, hey, we got some wine here. Here's your some couple bargain wines for you. They're out there in your community. There's there's wines under the price. Check the ads. A lot of times you don't need to check ads. Here we need in this day and age, you need to check the uh ads to find out which are the which are the wines that are coming in undervalued. And that's always fun because a a well-reviewed$20 wine selling for$10 has got to be outstanding. I'm gonna take another sip. This is balanced, it's flavorful, it's it's just whoever well, I know who made it that Joshua Maloney. Um, but he has a good fine hand when he makes it. This is there's some finesse going on here. The grapes are good. Single vineyard. Um, you know, it's got all the things you don't get in a$10 wine. You get it here, and it's the uh Chasing Rain Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2023. Uh these wines have been around for a while. There was a um winery attached to them, but their website's not working anymore. Uh so I'm not sure what's going on there, but the winemaker is still out there making this wine, it's his brand. So there you go. If you want to chase a good wine for uh the meal, I mean it might not be the perfect thing to uh have with ham on uh Easter or whatever you're gonna have, but it might be a nice wine to open up afterwards, and I'd probably be okay with ham. So you're looking for a wine that you can kind of show off with, but and it's 10 bucks. This is it. There's not there's not too many show off$10 wines. So it's the Chasing Rain, Red Mountain, Cabernet Sauvignon 2023. It's a really good wine. Uh this is Domain Dave, cheapwinefinder.com. We got a couple more uh wines coming for Easter, nothing too Easter yet, but we'll see. So audios, keep it cheap. I'll be talking to you. Bye bye.
