Hello, Domain Dave again, cheaperwinefighter.com. Like always, we um on our website, cheapwinefighter.com, been doing it since 2008. We write up a um a review of a uh value-priced wine. One we picked out. We don't really take suggestions from anybody, we do what we want. And we put links in there and photographs of the bottles and all that, and then we plug in the microphone, we do a podcast. And there's a um a large um wine, beer, spirits chain in Chicago Benny's. And since the wine and spirits and all that industry has been way down, they've taken to once a week, they will have a wine that is a real bargain, a wine that should cost much more. And what we have here is the Kendall Jackson Bittner's Reserve Brute Couvet, which lists for $20 and actually sells, according to the internet, for around $20, and I got it for $7.99, which is a cheap wine's like radar detective goes off. Go get it. So we got it, and what we have Kendall Jackson is a family-owned winery with this amazing portfolio. Check it out. They have so many brands, and they have any wine for anybody, single vineyard wines, mass-produced wines, wines from all over. Kind of amazing. Someone take a sip. Yeah. This is a well, the couvée. The couvet means it's a it's a blend, and it's um Chardonnay Pinot Noir and French Columbard. French Columbard, grown in California, of course, is a California wine, um, is used in cognac. It's a blending wine used in cone uh in cognac it's in fortified wines, so you don't really see it in the United States too much. I'm not really sure who's making fortified wines in the United States. I don't drink it for the most part. I'll take another sip. But it does add something difference to this um this bubbly. Now, this is a charmat method, not a traditional method. Traditional method is champagne, that's where they ferment the wine once, bottle it, put some yeast and sugar in every bottle, um cover it up again, and then in France come back after a year and a half, in the United States, it's whatever the winemaker says, but it takes a while. The charment method is they ferment it once and transfer it to these huge pressurized um vats. They are actually just a large version of the things that doctors use to sterilize their uh operating room um utensils, and the pressure, and again they add yeast and sugar, and the pressure forces the bubbles into the wine. And that's that's how you get bubbles. How's this one? This one had had vigorous bubbles, but it slowed them down. There you go. And it only takes a month or two to get to get the bump, you know. Sometimes it takes weeks, other times it's months. A twenty dollar uh Charmette method wine probably took months because the longer it's in there, the creamier it gets and all that. But this is a Charmet, not a traditional method. Um, and you don't you don't well you do see some um Italian prosecco's that are over $20, but you usually mean the very top end for prosecco because it's a lot faster situation. I mean there's some there's some shortcuts you can make where you can't take shortcuts in traditional methods, and that's not a problem. It's a uh Charmin method is a very modern no, not very modern, it's like from the 1890s, and um and and the champagne method is like from the 1590s, so there you go. So you got this kind of interesting tasting wine, it's got a lot of flavor, and it doesn't taste like a cookie cut or bubbly. It has um has husbier flavors to it. I really am not tasting the Pinot Noir that much. There's the Chardonnay, there's some spice, there's some apple, there's some there's some uh grapefruit, stone fruit. There's some nice flavors in there, balanced flavors, good acidity. It has length and it doesn't, it's not spiky, it's long and lean, bright. Uh Charmant method wines are usually bright, has bright acidity, has a little bit of acid to it, really nice bit of acid to it. But there you go. The Kendall Jackson uh Wittner's Reserve Brute Cuvet is an interesting tasting wine. Now the problem would be having picked it up for $8 when it's actually a $20 wine. At $8, it's a steal. It's it's a wine you should it's a wine you should know. I don't know how I feel about it at 20, but I really don't have that much um experience with $20 um Charmette wines. It's not something I do on a regular basis. You know, usually at that point you go to traditional method. Not that there's any reason why you can't go there and Charmette method, and this wine certainly is worthy. It's a nice little wine. So there you go. So Kendall Jackson Vittner Reserve Group Bouvet. Try it to get a sale if you can. But it's an interesting, well made bubbly. Adios, keep it cheap, domain day, but I'll talk to everybody later. Adios, bye bye.
