And that was the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":183.81,"endTime":187.86,"body":"time in the culture when, when,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":183.81,"endTime":187.86,"body":"you know, some some kind of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":187.86,"endTime":190.17,"body":"Christian skier movies were"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":187.86,"endTime":190.17,"body":"coming up, like feed them with"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":190.17,"endTime":193.59,"body":"beef in the night. Or, you know,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":190.17,"endTime":193.59,"body":"dad read late, great Planet"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":193.59,"endTime":196.2,"body":"Earth by Hal Lindsey that was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":193.59,"endTime":196.2,"body":"kind of next to his bedside"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":196.2,"endTime":201.27,"body":"table, the Bible and so he was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":196.2,"endTime":201.27,"body":"also saved in an era where in"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":201.27,"endTime":204.57,"body":"larger culture, there was a kind"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":201.27,"endTime":204.57,"body":"of the Red Scare the threat of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":204.57,"endTime":208.41,"body":"Russia or the Cold War, there"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":204.57,"endTime":208.41,"body":"was kind of apocalyptic language"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":208.41,"endTime":213.66,"body":"Reagan with using apocalyptic"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":208.41,"endTime":213.66,"body":"language from from the podium at"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":213.66,"endTime":216.69,"body":"points. And so he was really"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":213.66,"endTime":216.69,"body":"raised, or he was he was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":216.69,"endTime":218.97,"body":"converted into Christianity, but"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":216.69,"endTime":218.97,"body":"also very much into"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":218.97,"endTime":222.6,"body":"premillennial dispensationalism."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":218.97,"endTime":222.6,"body":"And, and time sculpture. And so"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":222.6,"endTime":227.01,"body":"when I came along in the late"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":222.6,"endTime":227.01,"body":"70s, it was not long before I"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":227.01,"endTime":230.49,"body":"began, I began hearing about"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":227.01,"endTime":230.49,"body":"Jesus, but also hearing about"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":230.49,"endTime":233.43,"body":"how I would most likely be"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":230.49,"endTime":233.43,"body":"raptured before I was able to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":234.12,"endTime":236.91,"body":"get up, get up, have a career or"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":234.12,"endTime":236.91,"body":"be married or have kids or"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":236.91,"endTime":241.14,"body":"whatever. So there was a lot of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":236.91,"endTime":241.14,"body":"fear that was instilled in my"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":241.14,"endTime":245.31,"body":"childhood as well as as well as"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":241.14,"endTime":245.31,"body":"a real faith. Those things both"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":245.31,"endTime":249.57,"body":"happen together. So walking"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":245.31,"endTime":249.57,"body":"through that, that time in the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":249.57,"endTime":252.33,"body":"Midwest, it really wasn't until"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":249.57,"endTime":252.33,"body":"high school that I started to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":252.36,"endTime":256.5,"body":"become interested in literature"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":252.36,"endTime":256.5,"body":"and kind of counterculture. I"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":256.56,"endTime":260.52,"body":"started listening to college"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":256.56,"endTime":260.52,"body":"rock and began to try to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":260.52,"endTime":263.19,"body":"understand if there was a place"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":260.52,"endTime":263.19,"body":"for me in the church if I felt a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":263.19,"endTime":267.09,"body":"little outside of the church and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":263.19,"endTime":267.09,"body":"also had to grapple with the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":267.09,"endTime":269.49,"body":"rapture. And what that meant to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":267.09,"endTime":269.49,"body":"us. Those dynamics kind of came"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":269.49,"endTime":270.66,"body":"up as I got older."},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":271.44,"endTime":274.23,"body":"Yeah, it's it's"},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":271.44,"endTime":274.23,"body":"hard. And so, you know, as I was"},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":279.39,"endTime":283.92,"body":"thinking, growing up, I was"},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":283.92,"endTime":287.52,"body":"like, wow, I may never get"},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":283.92,"endTime":287.52,"body":"married. And I remember praying"},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":287.52,"endTime":289.89,"body":"and I was like, Jesus, don't"},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":287.52,"endTime":289.89,"body":"come back yet. Don't come back"},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":289.89,"endTime":295.17,"body":"yet. I want to live. I want to"},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":289.89,"endTime":295.17,"body":"live my life. So I"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":311.88,"endTime":315.75,"body":"think like a lot of evangelical"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":311.88,"endTime":315.75,"body":"kids, I would pray the sitters"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":315.75,"endTime":319.32,"body":"pair every night, hundreds or"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":315.75,"endTime":319.32,"body":"1000s of times, just to make"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":319.32,"endTime":323.88,"body":"sure I was really a Christian,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":319.32,"endTime":323.88,"body":"there was just a lot of a lot of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":323.91,"endTime":327.6,"body":"sort of frenetic energy and, and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":323.91,"endTime":327.6,"body":"worry that I would commit the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":327.6,"endTime":330.99,"body":"unforgivable sin. There were"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":327.6,"endTime":330.99,"body":"certain things that stuck out to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":330.99,"endTime":335.85,"body":"me and that I was really focused"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":330.99,"endTime":335.85,"body":"on. The other thing about about"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":335.85,"endTime":338.67,"body":"my experience, I had a lot of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":335.85,"endTime":338.67,"body":"some friends that were that grew"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":338.67,"endTime":341.52,"body":"up homeschooled are kind of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":338.67,"endTime":341.52,"body":"outside of culture a little bit."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":342.03,"endTime":347.67,"body":"But I certainly our family was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":342.03,"endTime":347.67,"body":"very, very much an American"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":347.67,"endTime":350.34,"body":"family. So my spiritual"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":347.67,"endTime":350.34,"body":"formation was certainly an"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":350.34,"endTime":354.75,"body":"American formation. I met with"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":350.34,"endTime":354.75,"body":"culture, wars and politics, but"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":354.75,"endTime":357.03,"body":"also like going to the mall,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":354.75,"endTime":357.03,"body":"like we were very our life"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":357.03,"endTime":361.35,"body":"looked very identical to other"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":357.03,"endTime":361.35,"body":"families. So I wasn't really"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":361.35,"endTime":367.65,"body":"formed. So my, my formation was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":361.35,"endTime":367.65,"body":"the mall and sitcoms and sugary"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":367.65,"endTime":371.61,"body":"cereal and church on Sunday. But"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":367.65,"endTime":371.61,"body":"the way that we really lived,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":371.73,"endTime":375.15,"body":"the way that we thought about"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":371.73,"endTime":375.15,"body":"money we're typing was not there"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":375.15,"endTime":378.21,"body":"was not a central kind of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":375.15,"endTime":378.21,"body":"differentiation. We just kind of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":378.21,"endTime":381.21,"body":"went to church. But you know,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":378.21,"endTime":381.21,"body":"honestly, it's it's complicated."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":381.21,"endTime":384.45,"body":"Like my, my parents didn't teach"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":381.21,"endTime":384.45,"body":"me to love Jesus, we did read"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":384.45,"endTime":389.01,"body":"the Bible together. I did see"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":384.45,"endTime":389.01,"body":"faith at the center of their"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":389.01,"endTime":393.03,"body":"life, but that kind of 70s kind"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":389.01,"endTime":393.03,"body":"of post conversion fervor that"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":393.03,"endTime":396.33,"body":"dad had, I mean, we were settled"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":393.03,"endTime":396.33,"body":"into the kind of opulent 80s."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":396.33,"endTime":399.3,"body":"Right, we were at the the suburb"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":396.33,"endTime":399.3,"body":"near white middle class family."},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":399.66,"endTime":402.72,"body":"Yeah.
