He is the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":25.2,"endTime":28.08,"body":"goal he is the treasure in the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":25.2,"endTime":28.08,"body":"field, for which we would sell"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":28.08,"endTime":31.23,"body":"everything to acquire. And"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":266.82,"endTime":272.67,"body":"even as a kid, like, you know, I"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":272.91,"endTime":275.4,"body":"used to joke by the time I was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":272.91,"endTime":275.4,"body":"in college, I'd been to far more"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":275.4,"endTime":280.77,"body":"funerals, and I had weddings."},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":275.4,"endTime":280.77,"body":"And my brother died when I was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":280.77,"endTime":284.25,"body":"young. I grandparents, like many"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":280.77,"endTime":284.25,"body":"people do, who passed away and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":284.25,"endTime":287.58,"body":"like just, it was a rat. I was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":284.25,"endTime":287.58,"body":"always around that. And then I"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":287.58,"endTime":289.71,"body":"grew up in a very medical"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":287.58,"endTime":289.71,"body":"family. My father is a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":289.71,"endTime":293.7,"body":"physician. My mother was a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":289.71,"endTime":293.7,"body":"nurse. My grandfather was a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":293.7,"endTime":297.3,"body":"physician. I like lots of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":293.7,"endTime":297.3,"body":"medicine, and so disease and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":297.3,"endTime":300.57,"body":"death and like those kinds of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":297.3,"endTime":300.57,"body":"conversations were not at Normal"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":300.63,"endTime":304.68,"body":"in our home. And so I was just"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":300.63,"endTime":304.68,"body":"kind of always aware of it. And,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":305.4,"endTime":310.74,"body":"and so I just kind of had this"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":305.4,"endTime":310.74,"body":"general sense of, Well, if you"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":310.74,"endTime":313.29,"body":"belong to God, you're going to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":310.74,"endTime":313.29,"body":"be okay. You'll go to heaven"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":313.29,"endTime":316.74,"body":"when you die. And so then as a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":313.29,"endTime":316.74,"body":"teenagers, I started really"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":316.83,"endTime":320.28,"body":"thinking more deeply about"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":316.83,"endTime":320.28,"body":"meaning in life and God and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":320.28,"endTime":322.53,"body":"faith and religion and studying"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":320.28,"endTime":322.53,"body":"all kinds of different"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":322.53,"endTime":326.52,"body":"traditions and stuff. You"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":322.53,"endTime":326.52,"body":"naturally carry those"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":326.52,"endTime":329.88,"body":"assumptions into your reading of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":326.52,"endTime":329.88,"body":"the Bible. So like a lot of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":329.88,"endTime":333.45,"body":"people, I just assumed that's"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":329.88,"endTime":333.45,"body":"what the gospel was about. And"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":333.45,"endTime":336.27,"body":"then going into college, I was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":333.45,"endTime":336.27,"body":"very involved with a campus"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":336.27,"endTime":339.75,"body":"ministry, and they were very"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":336.27,"endTime":339.75,"body":"missionary minded and"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":339.75,"endTime":342.93,"body":"evangelistic. And of course,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":339.75,"endTime":342.93,"body":"they teach you to talk to people"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":342.93,"endTime":346.32,"body":"about, you know, if you were to"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":342.93,"endTime":346.32,"body":"die tonight, how would How do"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":346.32,"endTime":349.11,"body":"you know you would go into"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":346.32,"endTime":349.11,"body":"heaven? It's so everything about"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":349.11,"endTime":354.3,"body":"my early Christian formation was"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":349.11,"endTime":354.3,"body":"with heaven as the centerpiece"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":354.39,"endTime":357.48,"body":"in the assumption that the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":354.39,"endTime":357.48,"body":"gospel was all about, how do you"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":357.48,"endTime":361.2,"body":"get into heaven? Or how do you"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":357.48,"endTime":361.2,"body":"avoid hell? And it really wasn't"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":361.2,"endTime":365.31,"body":"until later in college, as I"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":361.2,"endTime":365.31,"body":"started really reading the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":365.31,"endTime":369.3,"body":"gospels, especially and noticing"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":365.31,"endTime":369.3,"body":"that when Jesus talked about the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":369.3,"endTime":373.11,"body":"kingdom of heaven, it didn't"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":369.3,"endTime":373.11,"body":"seem like he was talking about"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":373.11,"endTime":376.14,"body":"just Where do people go when"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":373.11,"endTime":376.14,"body":"they die? So that was my first"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":376.14,"endTime":379.59,"body":"clue that may be our"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":376.14,"endTime":379.59,"body":"understanding of Heaven is"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":379.59,"endTime":384.84,"body":"weird. And it's not what I"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":379.59,"endTime":384.84,"body":"thought it was. It's speaking"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":555.39,"endTime":558.66,"body":"about a realm, the way we talk"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":558.66,"endTime":563.01,"body":"about the atmosphere or the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":558.66,"endTime":563.01,"body":"oceans, or, you know, another"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":563.01,"endTime":566.37,"body":"dimension. It's there are"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":563.01,"endTime":566.37,"body":"multiple heavens, in Scripture,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":566.37,"endTime":571.32,"body":"multiple realms that are defined"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":566.37,"endTime":571.32,"body":"as heaven the heavens. And so"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":571.41,"endTime":573.93,"body":"once you erase this idea that"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":571.41,"endTime":573.93,"body":"heaven has a singular"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":573.93,"endTime":577.2,"body":"destination or location, and it"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":573.93,"endTime":577.2,"body":"becomes an ever present realm,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":577.35,"endTime":582.48,"body":"that's right here, that changes"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":577.35,"endTime":582.48,"body":"all that and it's not just where"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":582.51,"endTime":585.57,"body":"the dead reside. And"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":605.4,"endTime":608.28,"body":"this is the one I was talking"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":608.28,"endTime":612.87,"body":"about earlier, which is we tend"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":608.28,"endTime":612.87,"body":"to view heaven as the goal of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":612.87,"endTime":616.92,"body":"our faith. It is the purpose of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":612.87,"endTime":616.92,"body":"our lives. It is the mission of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":616.92,"endTime":620.19,"body":"the gospel to get people into"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":616.92,"endTime":620.19,"body":"heaven. That is also a"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":620.19,"endTime":625.17,"body":"fundamental misreading of the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":620.19,"endTime":625.17,"body":"Bible. And in a weird way, it"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":625.17,"endTime":629.49,"body":"actually makes an idol out of"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":625.17,"endTime":629.49,"body":"heaven. Because we put heaven at"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":629.49,"endTime":632.91,"body":"the center when in fact, it's"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":629.49,"endTime":632.91,"body":"Christ Himself, who is to be the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":632.91,"endTime":635.94,"body":"center of our faith, he is the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":632.91,"endTime":635.94,"body":"goal he is the treasure in the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":635.94,"endTime":639.09,"body":"field, for which we would sell"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":635.94,"endTime":639.09,"body":"everything you acquire. And"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":656.31,"endTime":660.75,"body":"it's not what we read in the"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":660.75,"endTime":662.55,"body":"Scriptures. When I moved to the"},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":691.41,"endTime":695.49,"body":"Middle East, I started work with"},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":691.41,"endTime":695.49,"body":"with Muslims and Syrian"},{"speaker":"Joshua Johnson","startTime":695.58,"endTime":703.68,"body":"refugees. And so when"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":845.67,"endTime":850.26,"body":"you jettison that whole thing,"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":845.67,"endTime":850.26,"body":"it opens up the possibility for"},{"speaker":"Unknown","startTime":850.26,"endTime":853.5,"body":"more things to matter.
