Marie Chevrier: The Ups & Downs of Being a Startup CEO

Our guest in today's episode is Marie Chevrier, Founder, and CEO of Sampler, a booming tech company that offers direct-to-consumer sampling. 

Marie started her career in advertising at J. Walter Thompson, after some time there she transitioned over to a Venture Capital firm in New York City. When Marie then decided to move back to Toronto, she decided to merge her passion for marketing and technology and started Sampler. Fast forward to now, after having raised over $9M in funding, with over 50 employees, Sampler's network reaches over 50M consumers and serves some of the world's largest brands like L'Oréal and Unilever, Nestlé, and The Home Depot. 

Above and beyond Sampler, Marie has been named Toronto Life's 50 most influential Torontonians, as well as Top 20 Tech Innovators, and her business was ranked in the Top 30 on Canada's Fastest-Growing Startup List from Canadian Business.

In this episode, Marie talks about her entrepreneurial journey, the Venture Capitalist world, and how we can enable more women entrepreneurs. Lastly, we touch upon the importance of open dialogue when it comes to mental health stigmas and her advice to young entrepreneurs.
