Joe Lopez is the head coach at Freestyle MMA in Wyndang NSW Australia,
and notably the head coach of UFC Featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski. Joe embarked on a journey in Martial Arts as a youngster which led to him opening his gym to teach and develop kids and adults into martial artists and potential champions. Along the way Joe also started a successful Security Company in Sydney, where he bodyguarded celebrities and ran various clubs and pubs in the Sydney area. In this interview we discuss his start in Martial arts, early days of fighting in the region, security background and company, his thoughts on strength and conditioning, diet and recovery, and how it compares to the old way of training,  the mindset of fighters and preparation, along with a quick flex from the Champ Volk in the background.
