Tuloy lang, mga Bes! We are an international award-winning Filipino podcast by fabulous members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our goal is to normalize and de-stigmatize conversations that Pinoys generally only talk about in secret - mental health problems (like depression and suicide), sex, sexuality and the human body, non-traditional relationships, among others. "Balut" is a Filipino delicacy consisting of a fertilized developing egg embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell. So, we aim to make our episodes nutritious though they are not for the faint of heart. While "kiki" is queer slang for a gathering among friends. Kaya we throw in discussions about queer culture and interests - because why not, diba? We are uniquely PINOY. We are unapologetically QUEER. Teacher Tim has a past he's not ashamed to talk about. After all, it's led him to and helped him with his current career as a proud sex educator. Listen as he talks candidly about his journey from being an Ateneo grade schooler to accidentally landing an escort job while working in retail to being an advocate for the LGBTQIA community in Toronto.
Exciting talaga ang kiki - from talking about his childhood dream to growing up in a conservative Filipino family eventually immigrating to Canada, to his not-so-accidental foray into (gasp!) escorting.
Anu-ano ang mga misconceptions natin sa trabaho ng isang sex worker? Saan siya kumukuha ng clients niya lalo na when he went solo? Anong klaseng serbisyo ang ino-offer niya sa mga parokyano niya? Kamusta ang kita sa ganitong trabaho? How did he protect himself while he was escorting? At ano ang nagbunsod sa kanya na mag-shift careers from sex worker to legitimate sex educator?
