From Country Day tennis player to pro at the U.S. Open, Tripp Phillips knows what it takes to make it. He played in all of the grand slams, won the Patterson Medal at UNC, got to the semi-finals of the U.S. Open and now coaches athletes at UNC-Chapel Hill. Tripp talks with sophomore Carden Proffitt about playing tennis at Country Day, how he avoided burning out, and gives advice on college recruitment. You'll also hear from Country Day head tennis coach Calvin Davis about the early days of Tripp's career and characteristics he looks for in his current athletes.
