Makayla started dancing at just nine years old, thanks to her dad introducing her to a dance class. From classical ballet to hip hop, jazz, and more, she's got a ton of dance styles under her belt. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and then from the California Institute of the Arts, where she studied dance and even minored in Science and Mathematics. Cool, right?
Let's talk about Makayla's family history and how they made their way to the U.S. And when did Makayla discover her love for dancing? Spoiler: It happened early! She even joined the Next Generation (NG) dance studio.
But here's the big news – Makayla scored a major role on the Oxygen American TV Network and Peacock, where she's playing one of the "Greatest Latino Artists of All Time." That's a huge deal, and we're cheering her on! 🌟
Besides being an awesome dancer, Makayla is also a fantastic teacher. She's worked with students of all ages, toured with the So You Think You Can Dance All Stars, and even taught at schools in California. She's all about sharing her love for the arts and helping others on their creative journeys.
