CLUCKY: Hey Brigita!! Come check it out over here! Worms!!

BIRGITA: What?? Where?? I’m coming!!!

CLUCKY: No need to run, they’re not going anywhere.

BIRGITA: Oh, yum Clucky! How nice of you to share!

CLUCKY: I’m feeling that holiday spirit today!

BELLA: Which holiday are you talking about Clucky?

CLUCKY: Why, Thanksgiving of course!

BRIDGET: I wasn’t aware of your fondness for Thanksgiving Clucky.

CLUCKY: Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays!

LOKI: ME TOOO!!! (SFX- pouncing sound as Loki bounds into the area)

CLUCKY: ARGHHHH!!! Land sakes Loki, you almost scared my tail feathers off!

LOKI: That would make you funny looking.

CLUCKY: It’s great to see you though! It’s been almost a month since we got back from the evacuation. Are you just getting back now?

LOKI: No, we’ve been back for a while now too but my hoomans have been keeping me close and we finally moved into our house.

BELLA: Where were you living before?

LOKI: We were staying in a small trailer. My family has been building a new house and shortly after we came back from the evacuation, we got that first snow so we finally got to move in so I haven’t been out and about as much as before.

BRIDGET: So what happened with you during the evacuation? Where did you end up?

LOKI: On the day of the evacuation I was at the beach!

BIRGITA: Beach? What beach are you talking about? I haven’t heard any of the other mobile animals tell us about any beaches. I love a good sandy beach.

KITTEN: Birgita, when have you been on a beach?

CLUCKY: Hey Kitten! I was wondering why you haven’t been down to the coop yet.

KITTEN: Hello everyone. Hi Loki! It is good to see you again.

LOKI: Awoooooo!! Nice to see you too Kitten.

BELLA: Loki was just starting to tell us the story of his evacuation.

KITTEN: It has been a while since all of that drama. Is this why Birgita was talking about the beach?

LOKI: YES! When my family woke up the morning that we evacuated the air was terrible with smoke. Dad said we should probably get out of there for the day so we packed up the car and drove out to the ocean! It was FANTASTIC. It was the most water I’ve ever seen! I ran. I jumped, I swam. I hunted. I ran some more. I jumped some more. It was awesome. There were waves and the water tasted salty.

BRIDGET: Sounds like you took a drive out to the coast to the ocean then?

LOKI: Yes, my family mentioned something about the Pacific Ocean. It was cold!! And so refreshing! I love the water!! I used to swim all the time in the lake back in Canada. (SFX sniffing). Hrm, what’s that smell. Seems another cat is close?

BIRGITA: Another cat? Big or small?

BRIDGET: How can he tell that from the scent Birgita?

BELLA: You never know Bridget. Perhaps Loki can tell if it’s a housecat or not.

CLUCKY: Well, hang on there, if it’s not a housecat, what are we talking about here?

KITTEN: I think she means it could be a wild cat like a cougar or bobcat?

CLUCKY: Ah yes our “bobcat” Hey Loki, are you familiar with any cats named Bob or Bill? Kitten here insists that it can only be named Bob.

KITTEN: Clucky! You know we’ve talked about this before.

LOKI: Shhhhh, it’s getting closer. I’m guessing housecat.

FERAL: It is not a housecat. I am a barn cat, formerly an alley cat. Bonjour!

LOKI: Bonjour yourself! Do you speak French?

FERAL: But of course. I am originally from Montreal.

LOKI: No kidding! A fellow Canadian. Well, call me surprised.

FERAL: Zat is an unusual name for a dog. Ok, I call you surprised. My name is Feral. (SFX - guitar)

KITTEN: Feral, his name is Loki.

FERAL: I sink I prefer to call him surprised. Kitten, it makes my heart soar to see you again, all safe and happy I see.

LOKI: You’re an odd black cat, but you’re Canadian so you can’t be bad.

BRIDGET: Go with your instincts Loki.

BELLA: This is so surprising to have two Canadians in our community.

BIRGITA: OH Feral!! I’m so happy to see you back! I was fearing the worst since we haven’t seen you since we’ve been back from the evacuation!

FERAL: I have only just recently returned. My owner stayed away a little longer than I would have liked.

BELLA: Loki was just telling us the story of us his evacuation with his family. He was at the beach.

LOKI: Yes it was awesome. I ran. I swam, I jumped. I ran some more. I swam some more.

CLUCKY: So did you get to stay at the beach the entire time, running, and jumping and swimming?

LOKI: No, actually it was at lunch that my dad spoke to one of our neighbours and we found out that the mountain was evacuating. The evacuation level must have changed just moments after we left. My mom said it was strange because she never got any indications but she thinks that it’s because we were now out of the area and technically out of danger already.

KITTEN: So where did you end up staying?

LOKI: We actually came back to town and stayed in the valley at a hotel. We stayed in a bunch of those when we drove from Canada. I hate hotels. I can’t run. I can’t jump. There’s no swimming. I would have preferred to stay at the beach. That salty air was amazing. Instead it was just boring. I got to go out for walks in some new places so I got to smell some new stuff, but it wasn’t anything really interesting. I just really wanted to get back to the trailer. I don’t like sleeping in unfamiliar places. It stresses me out. I like being home.

FERAL: I completely agree with zat sentiment. It is so nice to be back in my barn again and able to visit my precious Kitten.

KITTEN: So Feral, where did you end up staying all this time.

FERAL: ZEATTLE

CLUCKY: The apple? The big one? Isn’t that what they call New York City? Hey Kitten, isn’t that right? Isn’t New York City called the big apple? Not just the apple.

KITTEN: Yes, Clucky, they do call New York City the Big Apple but…

CLUCKY: You went all the way to NEw YOrk City??? And why do they call it the Big Apple anyway? Are there plenty of big apples there?

KITTEN: No, i don’t think so. It’s a big metropolitan area, so I don’t think there are any apple orchards there.

CLUCKY: Neapolitan? Well, that’s one of my favorites. I remember when Xander came down and shared his ice cream cone with neapolitan flavor and it was all chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. That was tasty. But that’s not apple either.

LOKI: Oh I love ice cream! I’m not allowed to have chocolate, but it sounds really tasty.

FERAL: What are you all talking about? I was in Zeattle!!

CLUCKY: So you were in New York.

BRIDGET: He’s saying Seattle Clucky. It’s in Washington.

CLUCKY: Oh, is it far? Do they have apples there? Isn’t Washington famous for apples?

LOKI: I love apples. They’re one of my favorites. Red ones, green ones, yellow ones, orangey ones. I love them all.

CLUCKY: Oh me too Loki!

KITTEN: It’s northern Washington, but not that far from us.

BELLA: Where were you staying in Seattle Feral?

FERAL: My owner has a sister who lives there. They live in an apartement. It’s very high…. I sink maybe 20 floors above the ground. They had a balcony but I could not get away because it was so high. I felt trapped in this big concrete cage for an eternity. All i could sink about was getting back to see my Kitten.

BRIGITA: It doesn’t sound too bad Feral.

FERAL: The sister had a young daughter. She liked to torment me by dressing me up in doll clothes. I was wearing a pink dress and hat for several days and she would make me play afternoon tea in her bedroom. My owner thought it was adorable. It was not. I have never been so embarrassed in my whole life. But I kept thinking that I must survive this torture so that I can get back to my Kitten. Kitten, you were the only thing that kept me from going completement crazy. You have no idea what a saviour you are to me.

KITTEN: Oh Feral, you do like to exaggerate.

LOKI: My family liked to dress me up when I was younger. I’ve been a pumpkin and a bumblebee before.

CLUCKY: Maybe it’s a Canadian thing?

FERAL: No, this family in Zeattle was not Canadian. I was so happy when my owner finally said it was time to return home.

BIRGITA: It is so nice to be home isn’t it? All the familiar grass, trees and our coop.

CLUCKY: It certainly is Birgita! Especially for the holidays! I love Thanksgiving!

LOKI: Me too Clucky! I even wrote a song about it!

CLUCKY: Well let’s hear it! I love a good song!

LOKI: Stuffing… cranberry sauce… sweet potatoes… and some green beans these are some of my favorite things at Thanksgiving! Pumpkin pie…pecan pie…. dinner rolls….some corn… A nice dollop of gravy and of course some turkey

CLUCKY: Whoa, what was that?

SFX - record scratch (before or after Clucky’s line??)

LOKI: Ummm….. Not turkey? Definitely not turkey. I don’t like turkeys. Are you to related to turkeys? No, right? No I meant….ham. Ham is tasty. So is bacon. Yeah….. No turkeys.

CLUCKY: Well alright then! Carry on…

LOKI: That’s kind of it for now.

BRIDGET: That was a song about food.

LOKI: YES! It’s the best part of Thanksgiving.

CLUCKY: Can’t argue with you there Loki!

KITTEN: I think the best part about Thanksgiving is being around friends and family.

LOKI: And food!

FERAL: I agree with Kitten. Perhaps we can share a nice Thanksgiving together with a bit of candlelight?

KITTEN: Oh Feral, Thanksgiving is for large gatherings of plenty of friends and family. The more the merrier!

BELLA: It is nice to be with everyone. I’m so thankful this year that our home didn’t burn down and all of us are safe.

BRIGITA: I’m thankful for the worms that Xander brings us. And for all of my darling friends who come to visit. It makes life so much more interesting.

CLUCKY: I’m thankful for all of our friends too! And for Xander and his family that bring us all those yummy goodies leftover from Thanksgiving. I am a lucky rooster indeed!

KITTEN: I’m thankful that it’s not raining today and not overly windy so that I can visit all of you. I’m thankful for Maddox and all those cozy evenings when we read books.

LOKI: You’re all so thankful! I’m happy that we moved here. I’m happy that I get to run! I’m happy that our forest and house didn’t burn down before we got to move into it! I’m a super lucky dog to have friends and family to love and be loved.

BRIDGET: I’m also grateful that our coop and forest didn’t burn down. I hope we see all of our other forest friends that evacuated the fire. I’ve learned so much from them this year.

FERAL: I am thankful that I have Kitten and she is unharmed. I am also so happy to have a group of such strange acquaintances that take care of Kitten. I never imagined my life would turn out zis way. I am even grateful to the human that offers her home and food to me. If only she would take zis annoying collar off of my neck.

CLUCKY: As much as the food is great at Thanksgiving, you’re right Kitten, it’s about the friends and family and how fortunate we are.
