Liz Kirkwood is the Executive Director of For Love Of Water (FLOW). She and her team are in a constant battle to protect our fresh water resources in and around the Great Lakes. From trying to prevent oil spills to fighting invasive species, they are part of the unsung heroes protecting this planet. Fresh water is a fundamental building block to life on earth. Our Great Lakes contain 21% of the planets surface fresh water by volume.
Inside this episode we discuss a few of the many projects FLOW is currently working on. Line 5 in the Straits of Mackinac, Nestle and other water diversions, algal blooms, invasive species, environmental racism, climate change and so much more. We discuss how we all have a role in conservation and how business and conservation should be partners not enemies.
