The Beachfront Therapist
Practice Management, Marketing, & Money
In this episode, we explore the impact that values have on our professional work as a means to prevent burnout. We walk through what values are and how to work with values in session. We also look at clarifying our own values, as clinicians, and why a mission statement matters. In this episode, Dr. Kim Dwyer, Ph.D joins us; she earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and has been licensed as a psychologist in the state of Colorado since 2001. She has worked in inpatient, outpatient, and school settings prior to launching her private practice in 2009. Dr. Dwyer is a cognitive-behavioral therapist who incorporates mindfulness, acceptance, and values into her work. She has also written three books, “Intentional Private Practice Workbook”, “Mindful Mondays: Transforming the Everyday to Claim Calm and Reduce Stress”, and Rocky’s Christmas Journey.
