Show Notes

Career Counseling is one of the core competencies that is needed to be a licensed mental health clinician.  So many of us have a basic understanding of the importance of career and its effect on our client’s mental state. We may also be familiar with assessments that can be used for career exploration, but for those of us not specialized in career counseling, we need to lean into our skill set a bit more. With resignation and job loss numbers up, mental health clinicians are likely encountering career concerns in the therapy space. Dr. Sharon Givens, president of the National Career Development Association (NCDA), joins us today to talk through the resignation experience and career counseling during this tumultuous time.
