 Lisa offers up a Book Bits episode focused on controversy surrounding Pizza Hut’s popular reading program. She also discusses a new app that is designed to help you discover an array of books you might enjoy.  

 CAMP BOOK IT! Is the longstanding reading program through Pizza Hut, which launched in 1984. When a child reaches their goal, they’ll get a coupon for a Personal Pan Pizza in the mail. 

 In June 2022, a number of conservatives slammed the program because it includes a suggestion for, “BIG WIG,” by Jonathan Hillman. The book delves into drag performances for children. According to The Manhattan Book Review, the book promotes diversity, inclusivity and self-acceptance. 

 The New York Times wrote a story about a new app called Tertulia, which is designed to help you discover some of those hidden gems. Barnes and Noble has released its top 10 books of 2022:
