BROWNSVILLE, RGV - Brownsville city leaders and UT-Rio Grande Valley professor Rick Jenet have officially launched the Emerging Frontiers nonprofit.

The aim is to help to help spur economic activity in Space commercialization and exploration, to help create NewSpace Brownsville.

The nonprofit was launched in the famous Pan American building at Brownsville-South Padre Island International Airport. Among the speakers were Dr. Jenet, Yolanda Marshall, director of strategic partnerships at the NASA Johnson Space Center, Sean Casey, founder and director of the Silicon Valley Space Center, and Sidney Nakahodo, co-founder and CEO of theNew York Space Alliance.
