Hey everybody, this is Leslie Cannum, and I'm so excited. The Compliance Divas are going to be doing a webinar on the Association for Dental Safety website. We're really excited about this webinar. It's called the Dirty Dozen Infection Control and Safety Mistakes That Put You at Risk. And one of the reasons that we are excited about this particular webinar is because as dental consultants, we visit dental practices or we hear horror stories every day. And sometimes there are infection control breaches that are occurring right under your nose. So what we want to do is bring a little information to you to help you understand what it is that can occur under your nose so you can be more aware of what's happening in your dental practice and share that information with your team. So to start us off, Mary, would you like to give us a little bit of a teaser on what information you're going to be presenting?
SPEAKER_01Absolutely, Leslie. I am going to be talking about errors in instrument reprocessing. And we know that lots of things can go wrong in that sterilization area. Olivia will also be with us on the webinar, and she is going to talk about misuses of single-use items and also issues that come up with housekeeping and how do we comply with OSHA's housekeeping standards to reduce issues with infection control.
SPEAKER_02That's great, Mary. Thanks for that, Tip. And Linda, you're going to be contributing some information to this webinar too. It's highly insightful. Could you give us an idea of what your content contains?
SPEAKER_00Leslie, yes, I'll be talking about some of the mishaps we have related to PPE. I know that oftentimes we get stuck in the way we've done things in the past and we're not as current as we should be, or we're dictated by how our personal thermostats regulate us and what we can wear and not wear. So we'll be addressing those topics and helping everyone to stay safe, especially since we've been talking about so many different diseases and illnesses that can be spread in a dental setting. So we encourage everybody to join us. So Leslie, could you give them that information on where and when to tune in?
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. It's going to be Wednesday, March 25th. It's 4 p.m. Eastern Time. So, folks in California, that's uh 1 p.m. Pacific time, which is perfect. A lot of dental offices take a lunch break at 1 p.m. And the beauty of this webinar is that it's an hour long. It is worth one hour of continuing education credit. It is absolutely free. Now, normally most associations will have a member rate, which would be free or low cost, and then a non-member rate, which is substantially higher. But the Association for Dental Safety is going to be offering this for free. And I'm excited for my part where I'm going to be talking about cross-contamination. Again, this is coming from observation of team members who are seasoned team members and do so well in maintaining protocols and maintaining procedures in a manner in which team members are efficient and wearing the proper PPE. But sometimes the cross-contamination issues happen mindlessly. We're not thinking about it. And a lot of time team members though, when I say, you know, did you know that this cross-contamination blooper occurred? And it's like, oh no, that never, I would never do that. But yet we describe what happens. They say, oh my gosh, you're right. I think I did do that. So I'm going to leave everyone hanging on the edge of their seats to see what kind of bloopers we find with the dirty dozen.
