I'll be asking Julie Ryan how an inventor of medical devices transitioned to a psychic medium who can actually sense medical conditions a person has and then facilitate healing. Julie is one of those psychics who has had dead people stalking her since childhood. Plus, Julie's an author and podcaster. So why don't we cut to the chase and discover what this exceptional woman is all about? Welcome to Body Mind Soul, Julie Ryan.
SPEAKER_02Thank you so much for having me. I'm delighted to be with you today.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's absolutely my pleasure. I mean, you've got a great background. Uh our audience uh is a little bit coherent in terms of exactly what you've done, particularly being chased around by dead people at one point in time. But anyway, we'll we won't go there at this point unless you want to. Um but I've described your unique background, and um my listeners are curious. You've been a successful business person, a businesswoman, and of course an inventor. Right. And yet you forsaked big dollars, I'm assuming, to turn to a less lucrative field, becoming a psychic medium. How did that happen?
SPEAKER_02Well, I didn't have dead people chasing me in childhood. I learned how

SPEAKER_02to do all this woo-woo stuff. And I tell people, Jim, I'm a I'm a businesswoman and an inventor who learned how to do woo-woo, and I'm a buffet of psychicness. So I had a girlfriend a little more than 30 years ago give me a book called Anatomy of the Spirit by Carolyn Mace. And she called herself a medical intuitive. And I thought, well, what the heck is that? I'd never heard that term before. And back then we didn't have the internet yet. So I did the old-fashioned thing and I went to a bookstore to see what else was available. I thought, my library is probably gonna have less than a bookstore. Maybe I'll find somewhere in a bookstore. So I went and I found a book called Hands of Light by Barbara Brennan, who was a NASA physicist, and she parlayed very complex quantum physics concepts into understandable English for the non-scientific mind. That would be me. And I wanted to know more, so I called her school, which the time was in New York on Long Island, and I said, Do you guys have anybody teaching this stuff in my area? And they said, Yes, we do. And so I studied with uh their graduate for several years, and she's still my mentor. She's in her mid-80s now and still going strong.
SPEAKER_00Well, I want to make sure I didn't get the story incorrect, but is there any truth to uh the fact that a deceased pope named Clement the Sixth had something to do with this?
SPEAKER_02He did. When my mother died in 2002, I had been been studying Woo Woo for probably not quite 10 years at that point. And I had never been around anybody that was dying before. So my mother was dying, she was in her last days, and it was unexpected. And I just thought, well, I'm gonna turn on my radar. I turn my abilities on and off at will, and then I teach people all over the world how to do all this too. We all have the ability, it's just a matter of developing and enhancing it. So I started seeing all these angels and spirits of deceased loved ones and pets in the room around my mother. And I was thinking, holy bully, what is all of this? And then I watched it all unfold as she was getting closer to passing and then eventually died. And that's what I've come to call the 12 phases of transition, and that's what's in my book.
SPEAKER_00Oh, well, we're gonna talk about your book also in a few minutes, and and the 12 phases of transition we're also gonna ask you about in just a bit. But but so Pope Clamath was real. He came to you.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I was with my mentor. This is such a fun story, Jim. I was with my mentor, Susan, and and when she's doing a healing on me, my deceased loved ones are on both sides of the table that I'm laying on and face up. And one day this dead Pope spirit showed up and he had on the Pope hat and the shepherd's rod and the whole nine yards. And I said, Well, who are you? And he said, I'm Clement. And

SPEAKER_02I said, Oh, I went through 12 years of Catholic school, so I never heard of a Pope Clement. I'm so sorry. And he laughed and he said, Well, I was number six.
SPEAKER_00Way back when.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I said, Great, how may I help you? And he said, You're supposed to teach the world what happens when somebody dies because it's been so bastardized, and people are afraid, and you know what happens, and so you need you just need to get on with it. And I laughed and I said, Ah, no, thank you. I'm a businesswoman, people will think I'm nuts. And he's he said, Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everything you've done in your career has prepared you for this. So just, you know, get on with why you're here. So I thanked him for stopping by. I said, thanks, but no thanks. A few minutes later, when I was leaving, I was in my car gym, and I just for kicks, I just did an internet search on my phone on Clement VI. Come to find out this guy was in office during the Black Plague, and he's best known for his prayers for the dying and his prayers for the dead. And I thought, Ryan, you can't make that up. I never heard of the guy, and that that's what he's known for. So you want to hear the rest of the story of how this all came to be?
SPEAKER_00Well, sure. Go ahead. I think it's interesting. I'm fascinated by a sixth century pope coming and telling you, hey, you're in the wrong field.
SPEAKER_02And he's hilarious because he's my main spirit guide. When I talk to him, I'll say, Clement, I know who you are after all these years. You don't have to wear the hat. And he says, Yeah, but it looks good, don't you think? You would appreciate that. You bet you, I'm a hat man. You're a hat man like Clement. So a couple years go by, I wrote kind of a you know, cursory version of angelic attendance. And I thought, yeah, I'll get to it someday. So I'm sitting in church one Sunday morning between my husband and my son, and the priest from the altar during his sermon says, Wouldn't it be nice if somebody could tell us if the angels and our loved ones really greet us and lead us into paradise? And I'm getting elbowed from my husband and my son. And I'm thinking, God, seriously from the pulpit, you're giving me grief about this. So I said, All right, all right, all right. And then I thought, okay, I put askjulyrion.com, the website up, and I thought, uh, I hope this doesn't affect my businesses. So AskJulie Ryan's up. I'm lecturing in at this big conference in front of a bunch of C-suite executives, mostly men. I give my business talk. Afterwards, this guy comes up to me. He's got his iPad open, Jim, and it's open to askJulieRyan.com. And I'm thinking, oh, here we go. And he said, Is this you? Well, my picture is on the cover. Of course it's me. And I said, Well, yes, it is. And I'm thinking, oh, brace yourself. And he said, I'm interested in knowing more. Can we sit together at lunch? And I'm smiling and I'm saying, sure, I'd love to. And inside my head, I'm thinking, Great, I'll just get pummeled for an hour at lunch from this guy. So we sat at a table with eight people, seven C-suite guys, and me.
SPEAKER_00And everybody listening in, right?
SPEAKER_02All they wanted to talk about was woo-woo. Not one thing about the conference, not one thing about business, not one thing about my talk. All they wanted to know was about woo-woo. And so I said I believe it. Okay, God. I'm in. I'm in full force. I that's a big sign. All right, let's go.
SPEAKER_00Well, in a sense, you continued as an inventor because you invented yourself as a psychic medium. So, and we're going to talk about that a little bit more as you're, you know, uh basically your profession in that respect. But I also want to know because you're known as a medical intuitive. Right. Well, if I'm correct, this means that you can actually perceive an illness that a person has and then implement energetic healings. That's quite an accomplishment. Tell us how it works.
SPEAKER_02Well, I'm like a human MRI, and my skills have developed, and this is what I teach people how to do. And I connect with somebody anywhere, anywhere. If you were in a galaxy far, far away, I'd find you and connect into you.
SPEAKER_00I wish I were at times, but anyway, sure.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and then I have a hologram of you in my mind's eye and I envision shooting energy. And it's as if I'm looking at an X-ray or a CT scan or an MRI. And then as soon as something's identified, Jim, then there's an energetic healing that happens.

Uh, if a person wants to know, and I don't know, there perhaps this is a leading question, but should someone want to know, can you actually tell them how close to death they are?
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, them and their loved ones.
SPEAKER_00And this sometimes I would assume people ask you that question.
SPEAKER_02They do, and it's not so much a timeline, it's what I referenced before, Jim, the 12 phases of transition. And that's the configuration that the angels and the deceased loved ones and the spirits of deceased pets assume as the person's getting closer and closer to death.
SPEAKER_00And by the way, you mentioned pets. Uh, incidentally, I believe you can also scan animals.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. Oh yeah. I'm a buffet of psychicness, Tim. So All right.
SPEAKER_00So if somebody has a poor kitty limping around or a dog just on its last leg, you can, hey, you can uh take a look and see what you might be able to do from a healing aspect.
SPEAKER_02All the time.
SPEAKER_00Well, let's delve into your psychic abilities.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Now you state that every person's spirit is accessible. Are you able to communicate with relatives and friends, for example, of someone that they might want to know what they're doing, what's happening, who's on the other side?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. What once uh I connect with any spirit, where it doesn't matter whether we know them or not, doesn't matter if they're attached to a body or if they're in heaven. All everybody goes to heaven, by the way. There was a movie out in the 80s called All Dogs Go to Heaven, while all people go to heaven too. And so, yeah, it's just a frequency. Everybody has a frequency they keep throughout all their lifetimes, and that's their spirit. And our heads are like big satellite dishes, Jim, and they receive and transmit frequencies. So to get in touch with any spirit, whether it's attached to a body or not, whether you knew or know them or not is irrelevant. You just think of them. That tunes your satellite dish head to their frequency, and it opens up something similar to a two-way radio communication. And you say something, either aloud or in your head, and they're going to respond. And how you know their responses from spirit is it's that first thing that comes into your
Medical Intuition And Energy Scans
SPEAKER_02head fast as you can snap your fingers, sometimes even before, because time doesn't exist in the spirit world. Time's a human creation. So they've already got what we're saying, whether it be a question or a statement, and they're they're responding to us.
SPEAKER_00You've opened the door to a kind of a sticky question. And I I can understand that because you mentioned that you had a Catholic upbringing. I went to a parochial school, a Jesuit university, and uh I had a lot of that you know coming at me. I have somewhat of different feelings these days, but the point being, uh, and particularly based on your uh, shall we say, motivation from Pope Clement, as a practicing Catholic, and you go to Mass, and I assume you have a traditional belief in God, it's my understanding the Catholic Church does not believe or condone in the use of mediums. There are several passages in the Bible that refer to that. How do you how do you uh work with that? Isn't is that a bit of a challenge?
SPEAKER_02Well, interestingly enough, Pope Francis in 2016 issued a papal bowl, which is kind of like a newsletter, and he said that he wanted all of his pastors to welcome psychics and healers because they were doing the work of the Holy Spirit. Uh that's good. That's good to know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you mentioned though that I'm I'm curious about this because you mentioned uh that we all go to heaven, which is great news. I believe that as well. Right. Uh what about things in the Bible? What about hell? What about the devil? Uh, how do those come into play? I mean, if you're going to heaven, then you don't have to worry about hell, correct?
SPEAKER_02Well, I am no Bible scholar, no biblical theologian or whatever. But you know, Hades was where the lepers were. You're gonna be banished to Hades. That's out in the middle of the desert with all the leopards. And then over the years and all the translations and all the way that that information's been manipulated, you know, it turned into hell, and you're gonna go burn for eternity. Pope John Paul II said, hell isn't a fiery pit. And I don't know exactly verbatim what he said, but that was the gist that he came out and said that. Furthermore, I have a fun story about when my dad was dying that really cemented it for me. May I share that?
SPEAKER_00Please.
SPEAKER_02My dad went to Rome and was in the seminary to be a priest on the GI Bill after World War II, and he graduated from the Gregorian, where a lot of your Jesuit buddies went. Right.
SPEAKER_00Many times chatting all day, all chatting all day.
SPEAKER_02And so when he was dying, I mean, he drank the serious Kool-Aid. You know, he's in Rome in the seminary, for heaven's sakes. And he left six months before he was to be ordained. Obviously.
SPEAKER_00Thank goodness for you.
SPEAKER_02That's right. Yes, and my siblings. And so when he was dying, he was in the ICU and he was so afraid to die, Jim. He really thought he was gonna go have to burn in purgatory for a long time, or maybe even worse. And I kept saying to him telepathically, because he was in a coma, I said, Dad, it doesn't exist, done exist.
The 12 Phases Of Transition
SPEAKER_02He said, Well, how do you know? And I'm thinking, I'm not an expert on the church. So I'm looking around and there's all these spirits in the room. And there's a spirit of a of a priest who had died six months prior, who was a very dear friend of our family. His name was Jim Hanley. And so I asked him, I said, you know, can you help with this? I'm not an authority on the church. He don't believe me. And he laughed. This guy was a riot. And so, next thing I know, the room, Jim, is full of dead popes. They all got their pope hats on. So now they're popes. And I said, and and there was one pope next to my dad's right shoulder with Father Hanley next to him. And I said, Who's that to Hanley? And he said, It's Pius XII. Well, Pius XII was in office when my dad was in the seminary, and my dad, when his bishop would come over for his biannual meetings, he'd take my dad into the Pope's private study with him. So my dad, you know, had had pur-to-person contact with Pius XII. And Pius said, Tom, there's no hell. Everybody goes to heaven. We're all waiting for you. Come on, whenever you're ready, we'll see you there. And in the room with all these dead popes, you know, like in a crowd in the on a play on the stage, you can hear them going, you know, they're all talking amongst themselves and nodding their heads. And I thought, all right, I can read all this holy scripture and stuff, but when I got a room full of dead popes in my dad's ICU room saying, Everybody goes to heaven, come on, that cemented it for me.
SPEAKER_00Julia, uh, let me tell you, you just uh gave uh uh six significant release to thousands of people who were worried about God, will I go to hell? So uh anyway, uh my feeling has always been there's a lot of hell we're going through right on earth. So maybe that's the answer to it all.
SPEAKER_02I think it was lost in translation, Jim.
SPEAKER_00Probably so. Well, let's get into past lives.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Can you identify someone's past life or lives and how they impact the person's present life?
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, all the time. All the time. They are so much fun, Jim, because oftentimes we can validate the information we get from spirit with historical documentation online. And I always say, I can't make this stuff up. I mean, I'm not that creative, and I'm not that much of a historian. So, yes, there's always a semblance of a script that I'll see repeat through multiple lifetimes, and we're looking at that script from a different perspective each time. I use the analogy of Hamlet. You think of how many times has Hamlet been performed since Shakespeare wrote it in 1602? Who knows? But certainly, when was it performed? What were the variables? When was it performed? Where? In what language, by whom? Who was the director? Who was the producer? Who were the actors? All those different pieces and parts are going to give us a different interpretation of the same script in all of those performances of Hamlet. And past lives are kind of like that. We come in with things we want to explore and experience, and we'll look at them from a different perspective.
SPEAKER_00Well, very well said. So let's get into your book, uh, one of your books, uh Angelic Attendance. As they are dying, every person goes through 12 phases of transition.
SPEAKER_02Correct.
SPEAKER_00Can you tell us what the phases are and what happens?
SPEAKER_02Sure, sure. And I'll paraphrase them. So uh the spirit, you and I were taught that the spirit of the soul is someplace in the chest area, right? That's not what I perceive. What I perceive is the spirit's the main part of us, and the body's inside the spirit, and then it's all enclosed in what I call the energy field membrane. And if you look at the old master's paintings of saints and holy people, they're depicted with a halo around their head or around their whole body. Well, guess what? That's their energy field, it's their spirit, right? It's their halo, it's their aura. We're all holy people, we all have one. So when the spirit separates from the body, that's the everlasting part of us. That's the part that goes into non-physical, which is what I call heaven. And then the body stays, you know, in the human existence. So as the spirit's starting to separate, it comes out through the top of the head and it hangs on and it looks like a speech bubble that you'd see in a cartoon with the character's thoughts or statement. And then that's phase one. Phase two, the parent spirits arrive. Now, the per the spirit who is the maternal spirit closest to the person who's dying is the one that runs the show from the spirit world. That really surprised me, Jim. I thought God's probably got some like, you know, death department or something in heaven, and he dispatches some angel. Okay, Susie Q's dying in Memphis, you know, hey, go help her. No, it's the closest maternal spirit to the person who's dying. My mother's deceased. When I die, my mother will be there running the show.
SPEAKER_00I see.
SPEAKER_02My mother was still alive, it would be my maternal grandmother. If she was still alive, it would be her mother. It's always on the maternal line. Which in many cultures, it's all about the maternal line. Think of think of um the Jewish, the Gentile woman will oftentimes convert to Judaism so that that child will be born Jewish because they're not considered a Jew unless born of a Jewish mother. So this is ancient stuff.
SPEAKER_00So this is phase two now we're talking about, correct? This is phase two, and there are 12 phases altogether that we go through.
SPEAKER_02That's right. And uh and then the paternal spirit comes again. My dad's deceased, my dad would be there. If my dad was still alive, it would be my maternal grandfather. It's always on the maternal line. So there's that phase three, angels show up, and these are, and the mother spirits bringing in the angels, and these are big angels as I picture them. Big wings, white gown, rope belt, barefoot. Is that what angels really look like? That's what I was taught they look like. So they're big, and they with the parents, let's say our patient is in a bed, just for conversation's sake. The parent spirits are at the foot of the bed, and the angels form a circle with the parents anchoring that circle. And then as the now, important point, too. Somebody who grew up in an indigenous culture in the middle of the Amazon may see angel energy as just a purple ball of fog. We're always spirit's going to appear to us in a way that we can understand who it is based on our own human frame of reference. So as the person's getting closer to death, that circle opens into a horseshoe and eventually a straight line across
Faith, Church Views, And The Afterlife
SPEAKER_02the foot of the bed. And then I call them angelic crowd control because during the phases, there are so many spirits that show up. Jim, I call them the Welcome to Heaven committee. And do you remember the old welcome wagon ladies in a neighborhood? Oh, sure.
SPEAKER_00Sure.
SPEAKER_02You'd move in a neighborhood and they bring you like a basket of peaches or something. So there's so many spirits there to welcome the person, even before they die, that they look like specks on the horizon. I mean tens of thousands of them, and they're dressed in period attire, which is fascinating. You may see cavemen dress and renaissance and 1860s, go-go boots and mini skirts, twiggy dresses, and it's fascinating. And pets show up about phase five, about phase six, there's a new phenomenon that occurs. And two extra angels show up and they position themselves on either side of the spirit bubble above the head. And of course, the first time I'm seeing all of this is when my own mother's dying. And I felt like the Lady of Justice statue. Because I felt like on one side my heart was breaking because my mother was dying, and on the other side, I was watching all this glorious spiritual stuff.
SPEAKER_00You're happy for her.
SPEAKER_02Balancing it. Oh, yeah. Gave it a whole new meaning. So when those extra angels showed up with my mom, I thought, I know they're gonna play a role, but I have no idea how or what they're gonna do. And about phase nine, after like when they're in phase nine between nine and ten, those angels' wings start to move on either side of the spirit bubble. And it reminded me of a giant owl. Have you ever seen an owl fly or seen a documentary on them? Those wings are massive in their own.
SPEAKER_00They are much bigger than we envisioned originally.
SPEAKER_02It's almost like you can feel the drag. Well, I'm watching these angels' wings move for hours, this slow, rhythmic, graceful, silent movement. And I'm thinking, okay, this is this is something they're gonna, you know, help my mom's spirit probably detach from her body. And sure enough, that's what happened. That movement caused a vortex to form above my mother's head. I could see it, I could feel it, I could hear it. And it reminded me of being in the car wash at the end when they turned the dryer on and it's sucking all the water off your car. That's what it reminded me of. And then my mother's spirit separated from her body, they carried her on to heaven. They were the escorts to heaven.
SPEAKER_00So um the 12 phases.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, what is the final phase?
SPEAKER_02The angels escort the person to heaven.
SPEAKER_00All right.
SPEAKER_02So at that point, they're into afterlife, they're into heaven, and heaven looks like this huge, big, whitish-yellowish plasma wall to me. And we go through it and there's no trace. I've been through it many times escorting people. We do, I do a procedure called the walk to heaven for people who are afraid to diet. It's kind of like a dress rehearsal, so they know what to expect, and they usually die pretty soon thereafter because it it alleviates all the fear. But I gotta tell you, Jim, I've never seen St. Peter with a clipboard on the outside of the pearly gates going, yeah, you're allowed in. Now you gotta go burn for eternity. Doesn't happen.
SPEAKER_00So now that you mention heaven, what is heaven really like? I mean, I know that their time is not of the essence, but what do what do souls do on a regular basis in heaven? And what are they trying to accomplish? I assume they're trying to accomplish, you know, something is where they're there, learning a purpose in life, reincarnation. Tell us about heaven. What's it like?
SPEAKER_02All of the above, what I've been told about a bazillion times from spirit is that it's where their attention goes, it immediately materializes. So for us to think, okay, I want to go to San Francisco. Well, we got to figure out how we're gonna get there and what are we gonna do when we're there, they just think of it and it immediately materializes. Kind of like I dream of Jeannie, you know, she'd she'd like nod her head or unbewitched, Samantha Stevens would wiggle her nose and she'd be wherever she wanted, wherever her focus was. And that's the same thing that I've heard. And I've talked to literally tens of thousands of spirits over the years, normally with clients, and they want to talk to a deceased loved one, and they'll say, Well, dad, what are you doing? And dad'll say, God, it's great. I can ski the matter horn, and then I have a thought, and I want to be on an African safari, and so I'm in the safari, and then I have a thought, and I think I want to be floating down the Nile, you know, in a boat back in the Pharaoh's time.
SPEAKER_00And or we can visit other universes, I'm assuming.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. Time doesn't exist in the spirit world, so it's frontwards, backwards, whatever.
SPEAKER_00So all the things you may have wanted to do in life without any repercussions, you can actually do when you are in heaven.

SPEAKER_02Absolutely. It's like we're all screenwriters in heaven. We're saying, oh, what if we go back as this you know, person in this place, this time with these parents? So our lives have a trajectory that will allow us to explore and experience this, not only as a child, but you make it sound like an adventure. It is absolutely an adventure.
