Speaker 1:

There are two crucial keys to getting the best out of the mind cad of being confused about the idea of working on the golf swing. Just the idea that simply you go and work on a series of positions and then all of a sudden you become a better golfer because your golf swing looks better on a video. You get into certain positions and ultimately the game of golf is about having the skill to apply the club in a certain way to produce certain shots, be that bunker shots, be that putts from 40 feet, be that long tee shots. It's understanding the cause and effect of impact and impact factors. And as you go through the programs on the mind caddy, you'll find that we really drill down how to develop golfing, specific golfing skills, so that you'll go out on the golf course not just with a golf swing but a series of shots, because ultimately at the end of a round nobody asks you how many swings you've made. They ask you how many shots you've hit. So this central theme of being able to focus your attention in specific areas to develop certain skills is really liberating and exciting, because it's not just this endless idea of pass or fail in terms of whether your golf swing is right or wrong, often in the eyes and the opinions of other people. But once you've established some of those skills, the other crucial factor then is how do you then access those skills out on the golf course? Because, again, for many golfersers, they can display certain skills on the range in practice with the friends, but how do we actually get those skills to then emerge out on the golf course in a tournament, in a competition, when we truly want it to appear and we need it the most? And that is a really interesting combination of skills to develop.

Speaker 1:

During the time that we'll have together, we'll give you plenty of information and plenty of ideas about how best for you to explore how do you develop your capability to access those skills, because once you've developed a certain level of expertise, when you get out on the golf course, if your performance is so far away from the level that you have in practice, that's not just then a skill problem, it's an accessing of the skill problem, and I think, again, so many golfers go out on the golf course, they don't access the skill that they currently have, and then they go back onto the range blaming the golf swing and endlessly trying to fix it, so that we we get this constant loop where we're never actually looking at the true scene of the crime, where we need to be in terms of being able to access the skill when we truly need it.

Speaker 1:

And it becomes a very interesting, exciting, joyous journey of self-mastery, of trying to master your game not not my game or anybody else's game. You'll start to uncover that the areas of focus that you need to explore to get the best out of your game. I will be a guide with you during that process and offer you some suggestions and tools to work with, drills to work on, but ultimately, at the end of this process, you'll begin to own your game and then be able to express, on the golf course, your true capability.
