SPEAKER_01:

Hello, you're from Catwalk Talk des Model Institutes. I have heard tall for you. And so I'm each of you in Miami and I have my agent. And I want you to see the Miami market. This will be English, but I want you to see it.

SPEAKER_00:

Hello Candy. How are you? Good. How are you doing? Thank you so much for joining this little podcast. That's no problem. My pleasure. Happy to do it.

unknown:

Thank you so much. So how long have you been working as a booker for front management?

SPEAKER_03:

Well, I've been technically I'm not a booker for front. I do the scouting and the placement. Yeah, so I don't do I do some bookings, I do like editorial bookings mainly. Um I've been with France for about oh for probably nine months. Because I just relocated here. But previously I was here working, I was at Next, and I was at Next for about eight years. Oh okay. And I was a booker at Next.

SPEAKER_00:

At Next Months, okay. Which is of the other big agencies in Taiwan. Correct, yeah, correct. All over the world. All over the world, yeah, yeah. They've got their partner agencies. Correct. Everywhere, basically. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So what would you say is the American market like? Can you, I don't know, say a general thing about it?

SPEAKER_03:

I cannot say a general thing about it because each city is different. So like LA and Miami might be a little bit more commercial, um, New York will be more editorial. Obviously, like smaller cities like Atlanta, Boston, um, North Carolina, those are more commercial agencies. Okay, I see. Yeah. So not that we don't get fashion clients here because we always get fashion clients, but just I find like the general market, more of the fashion clients, the high fashion clients would go to New York. Okay, I see.

SPEAKER_00:

So as a commercial model, Miami would be quite a good market for all the girls.

SPEAKER_03:

For sure. Um, there are a few commercial agencies here. Um, so yeah, it would be a good place because you know, if you're into acting and stuff, then you can do like the commercials and stuff, and then you can still do the acting, you know, on actors access or casting networks, which are two networks for models to sign up on for castings.

SPEAKER_00:

That's a good combination there.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, it's perfect.

SPEAKER_00:

And um, it's quite interesting that you actually take part about in the scouting and placement. So, what would you look for especially? What kind of girls or boys do you need in Miami? You said they must be commercial. Do they need a different certain height or do you look for super diverse characters?

SPEAKER_03:

Right, so we technically don't look for a commercial model because we are not a commercial agency. We do get commercial calls because of one of the bookers. She's been in the business for 30 years. She has she was a commercial booker previously, so all her clients kind of followed her. So we still get those commercial calls, and like a next, they will not get those calls because they're considered high fashion. When I'm looking for a model, I'm looking for first of all, height-wise for a girl, um 5'9 is the minimum. 5'8, she's truly, truly special. Um, for guys, we like guys to be at least six foot. Um, if he's younger, he can be like 5'11. We wouldn't take an older guy at that. And obviously, an older guy has to be developed. And then we like our perfect height is 6'2. Okay. We do have guys who are 6'3 because there are clients who do big and tall and stuff like that. So we do have a couple taller guys, and I just look for like beautiful people all the time. And obviously, I check my board, make sure you know, we have enough blondes, we have enough brunettes, we have enough black girls. Like, you know, just make sure the board is complete and well-rounded. Obviously, we have curved models, also, which is really big now. Yeah, like in the US, that is a huge thing. There's a lot of diversity. So it's curvy models, it's ethnic models, ethnic models are doing well. Like, if they're mixed, they will like kill it. Wow. Um, also, like a lot of androgyny and stuff like that. People are, you know, because the world is changing. So everybody's accepting people, everybody, and so you see more like an advertisement and stuff like that. And so now when previously, if I look for a model, it would be traditional, you know. But now it's like that person's kind of interesting. Isn't that super nice? No, it is, it is because like we have someone who's trans, yeah, you know, and I think that's amazing, you know, because that's what the world is now.

SPEAKER_00:

This is so unique that more people identify themselves with it. Yeah, it's it's coming to Germany as well. Germany is sometimes like one or two years behind, but it started now, and everybody's of course super excited to be part of this yeah, modeling industry, especially now that I actually have the chance to.

SPEAKER_01:

That was our chance. No, no.

SPEAKER_03:

Even now, like um, when I went to LA, I went to a friend of mine who has an agency and she sent me like models to place, you know. I couldn't take any of them because they were too short. But she had girls who are 5'4, 5'5, 5'7. Working girls.

SPEAKER_00:

Nice. Yeah. So if you are a curvy model, do you still look for someone who is at least 5'9 tall? Yes.

SPEAKER_03:

Yes. Because curvy model is probably more important for the height.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, yeah, okay. If you are super, I don't know, if you've got a lot of freckles and oh my gosh, freckles are great.

SPEAKER_03:

I personally love a red head, I love a gender. I'm like, oh my gosh. Yeah, so no, all those little intricacies, what makes someone different as opposed to like the regular people are now feeding into that and loving that. But that would still need a certain height. Still need a certain height. Okay. 5'8 minimum.

SPEAKER_01:

5'8 minimum.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, for you know, if you if you're cute and you know you have something different, you you beauty then, yeah, beauty climate. And you wouldn't be boxing on a runway show. No, no, yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

But you know, that's like it was 10 years ago, it was the same. Yeah, yeah, correct. That's super interesting.

SPEAKER_01:

And how so if I if I'm a young 16-year-old girl in Germany or in Austria or Switzerland, because we've got a lot of um yeah, people listening to our podcast from other countries as well, how can they be a part of your agency?

SPEAKER_00:

What should I do? Besides calling in.

SPEAKER_03:

Um, what they can do is they can just go online and go on the website, frontmanagement.com. Um, there's a portal where you can apply, and then what you the email comes to us, we check it out. I would usually zoom with everybody who will, you know, if there's someone I'm interested in, I'll send them an email, I'll zoom with them, and then we go from there. If it is a model who needs to be developed, it'll be kind of hard because they're in Germany and we're here, and it's hard to develop a model who's like not in our space. It's also hard for a model to work here, they need a visa. And it's hard to get a visa for a new model because they don't have the amount of material needed for a visa. So, although I would say, you know, email me, I'd love to have you, whatever. The best thing I think would be to find an agency in your city who can develop you. And then they'll place you, they'll be your mother agent, and they'll place you all over, and you know, maybe with brand. But yeah, I think it's hard for a brand model to just like come and be signed in the US. It's easier to stay in Europe, get all your tear sheets, yeah, and then come to the portfolio and all about that, and get in that strong and nice, good mother agent.

SPEAKER_00:

Correct, yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

A mother agent is very important.

SPEAKER_00:

Okay, yeah, yeah. For those of you who don't know the podcast about mother agencies, um, you will find it in the list because we've done another podcast about mother agency and it's a points.

SPEAKER_03:

Very important. Listen to that podcast. Yeah, yeah. Listen to that.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, I don't want to steal any more of your time. Thank you so much, Candy. That was lovely. You're welcome. I will translate everything to you guys later. And um, yeah. Cool. Thank you so much. Bye bye. Bye.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, you leave, was this not super spanning? Alright, what Candy and I spoke. The Liebe Candy is a booker by Front Management in Miami. Front is a fashion agent, and Candy kümmer um the Scouting and Placement, which is super spannend for us. The Candy had for her, also before she by Front Management was by Next. Next kennt you are as one of the absolutely great agent of the world. They have in all the people, they didn't in Mailand, in Paris, in London, in New York, Miami, overall. And Next is a high fashion agent. Front Models as a fashion agent. They are at 30 years in a very commercial agent, front management. Also they have some even while they are a fashion agent, they are few editorial in the fashion bereaved. But thank the bookers, they are actually seen 30 years in the branch, rufen of so commercial by front management an. She said when she is a mixed race is, also when I have a mother had with African hair, and a papa with Nordic hair, Scandinavish, then these are. Not really, what then the growth is. And as you said, I've been 1,780, I've been 1.370, so I come in the 5'8. 5'9. And I had said 5'9, 5'9 are 1,750. That was totally worth it. When someone five eight growth is, but totally special is, a tall git has super shown hair, or a wahnsinness figure, then is she often. Yeah, and by the men, that we need to guess, six foot is ideal, six point two, that are 1.87, find it as perfect. And 5'11 is in order when we are not very young. But the younger model, umso more work in the portfolio, in the off, and the complete career management. And then it is in order when we are very young, so we read from 17, 18 years, then it is also in order when I'm a ticket cleaner is, while the agent of it and form. Now I have you then asked, what is there with the cleaners under us? So they really are 5'4, 5'5, 5, 6, 5, 7, so we spent 1,60 m, 1,60 mm, 1,70 m. And she said, Yeah, they are a bit too close for front management, but super for the commercial agent, for all the commercial agent of LA. They had some beer from a befriended bookerin. And she was traurig, that she kind of wanted, but their cleaner models not built. But in LA have they all fantastic articles. Also let us irritate. There are agent that really. Not really interessible, yeah, and we is this when none of curvy is or in the plus-size-bereich geht, then is man ja schon speziell and sticht ein bisschen raus. Dürfen die then klein sein? And hat sie gemeint, no, eher nicht. 5'8, also wieder diese 1,72 wären schon gut. Also an alle da draußen, die over 1,70 sind. For you is the mark relative often. You have so good, all that under 1,70 are in the sun. Our findings are a passive agent. But you had even said that for the runway, also for the catwalk and the fashion shows and fashion weeks, yeah, um the 1.75. This is castings, not from here upglehness to be. Most Wanted Models had other partner agent in Miami's. Front is the one who I have signed and with which I am totally happy. When you have an American model like, then you can go to website, formular, or an email. And when the candy will make us a zoom call to take it from there. So from here it's with the next shit, take me the Polaroids, take me a casting video, all these things about what we are in coaching and in workshop and what we all give. When a European model is in Deutschland, or the Switzerland, then it is not so important in America an agent to become. When you have a good agent in Europe to find, or self-formar, so many jobs on the land, that you have a lot. So you spray from 50 to 100. When you have a stark book and a empfehless from photography and countenance, then you have good chances in America, New York, Miami, or someone on a model board, an American agent to become a good one. And so I want you to fest the Daumen. Trotz, like 25 years in the Branche. Nichtsdestotes, nicht jeder kann es werden, aber die Chancen stehen für viele jetzt besser denn je. Liebe Grüße an euch alle. Vielen Dank fürs Zuhören.
