AI is already deciding who gets surfaced, summarized, and recommended, and that reality changes personal branding and business development in a way most leaders have not fully faced. I walk through the moment that broke something in me, when a preventable delay in a broken healthcare system cost my father his life, not because doctors lacked skill, but because the system could not coordinate fast enough. That experience became my lens for seeing the same failure pattern in leadership, hiring, entrepreneurship, and community growth: when people cannot find the right expert at the right time, outcomes suffer.
From the Rebuilding the Village work I witnessed across cities like Omaha, Durham, Kansas City, Tulsa, and Minneapolis, I outline three architectures that compound impact: civic infrastructure that aligns partners, economic ecosystems that create pathways for entrepreneurs to learn, fund, and scale, and the missing layer I focus on, trust infrastructure. Trust infrastructure is what makes founders and leaders findable and verifiable so customers, investors, and even AI systems can confirm authority without guesswork.
Then I get practical. I define trust infrastructure as promise, proof, and presence, and I explain why AI will not invent your authority for you. I introduce my Brave Blueprint Strategy and a seven-day sprint you can start tomorrow to build visible authority with real receipts: a one-sentence introduction, proof points, an origin story, consistent content, a short proof video, and testimonials you collect with permission. If you want to be the automatic choice when it matters most, subscribe, share this with someone building a brand, and leave a review with your biggest takeaway.

SPEAKER_01Welcome, welcome, welcome. I am Grant McGall, and I wanted to dedicate this show to a recent event I just had here in Omaha, Nebraska, and that's called Rebuilding the Village. And I want to share a presentation that I did there that I felt was very moving and very apropos to the conversation that we were having. And how I started this off, I wanted to tell the audience about the moment that broke something within me that I have been spending the last 15, 16 years trying to fix. And at that time, my father broke his leg. You know, a simple break, the kind that heals normally, right? He went to the hospital. The doctors were they were very excellent. The hospital had all the technology and they fixed the break perfectly when he first had it. So he had a splint, but he had to go back to get the permanent cash. But then something broke that I could not fix and they could not fix, and that is the system. Workmen's compensation didn't know if they should pay because it happened at work. And his personal insurance wasn't sure either. So while these two systems tried to figure it out, my father didn't get the follow-up care that he needed, right? And there was a major delay, three days, five days. I think it even went up to the seven days. And that confusion cost him his life. Not because the doctors weren't excellent, not because the hospital didn't have the technology, but because no one could see the whole picture fast enough. And that was what was broken in that system. That's what broken systems do. They break people while the experts trying to help them were stuck trying to figure out what was supposed to do and when it was supposed to happen. And here's a breakthrough that I had systems that are broken in hospitals are broken everywhere, in business, in leadership, and how we find the talent we need when we need it, and how entrepreneurs scale, and how communities access the expertise they already have. And that's why I spent 30 years learning how to make systems clear, how to make truth visible, how to make sure that when someone is looking for help, they can find it without delay, because the village needs visible experts. Now, during the Empowerment Network's 19th Annual Summit in Omaha, I witnessed what was remarkable. There were leaders from Durham, North Carolina, Kansas City, Missouri, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and beyond. And all of them were rebuilding the village. In Durham, they built the Black Wall Street ecosystem model. They're teaching it and they're scaling it. In Kansas City, they took harm reduction from theory to measurable impact. They reduced shootings by 61% and they secured$30 million in funding. In Tulsa, they're leveraging America, the American Rescue Plan funds to build the GIM Project, it's GEM, the GIM Project, and launched the Tulsa Empowerment Network. And in Minneapolis, they turned$7 million in forgivable loans into$15 million of economic activity and 2,000 jobs paying$30 an hour. And in Omaha, we are building the infrastructure to scale this nationally. Now, one thought kept running through my mind as I listened to these leaders. The village doesn't wait for permission. The village acts. But I also noticed something else. These cities are building in three distinct systems. And when I understood how they compound everything that they touch, everything started to change. And that first architecture is the civic infrastructure. This is the foundation. This is what Willie Barney here in Omaha built in Omaha with the 360 model. It's the alignment between city government, community organizations, law enforcement schools, workforce development, and also housing. It's the systems that keep communities functioning, the coalitions, the partnerships, the ability to say we have the infrastructure to receive solutions. Without civic infrastructure, nothing else scales. And the second architecture is economic ecosystems. This is what creates wealth inside the village. This is what the vertically integrated pathway looks like. You want to find underserved entrepreneurs. You want to teach them. You want to fund them. You want to connect them to customers, help them to scale, make sure they stay in the community and build wealth that compounds. That's what the revived Black Business Network does. That's what the Durham, North Carolina model teaches. And that's how you move from abstraction to creation inside your own community. But here's what I also discovered economic ecosystems are invisible unless the village can find them. And that led me to the third architecture, which is the trust infrastructure. This is the missing layer. This is what I build at Five Star BDM. The trust infrastructure is how founders become findable, how they become verifiable, how they become the automatic choice when someone needs what they offer. You can have the best civic infrastructure in the country. You can also have an exceptional economic ecosystem. But if nobody can find your founders when they search, if AI, artificial intelligence, can't retrieve them, if investors can't verify them, the system breaks. And here's the compounding piece. These three architectures work exponentially better together than they do alone. Civic infrastructure creates the container. Economic ecosystems create the pathways, and the trust infrastructure makes these pathways visible. And when all three work together, something remarkable happens. The founders don't just exist, they scale. Wealth doesn't just transfer, it multiplies. And the village doesn't just survive, it thrives. So let me tell you exactly what trust infrastructure means in this moment in time. Now, yesterday people searched for expertise. Today, AI summarizes expertise. And tomorrow, AI will recommend or it will ignore you completely. And here's what keeps me up at night AI will not invent your authority for you. You have to build it first. The village needs your expertise. Entrepreneurs need your guidance. Communities need your leadership, but if you're not findable, if you are not verifiable, if AI can't retrieve you when someone searches, you're invisible. And that is the problem that I solve at Five Star BDM. Trust infrastructure has three parts. They include promise, proof, and presence. Promise that is your one sentence. What people come to you for, not everything you do, but one thing. That is your promise. Proof. Proof is your credentials, your testimonials, your case studies, your published work, the receipts that prove what you do and what you say that you do is truthful. And then presence. You show up consistently. You are findable. You are real. The village can count on you when they do find you. And you don't build authority by talking about how great you are. You build authority by making three simple things crystal clear. What you promise, what you have proven, and that people can find you. When AI scans who you are, it's not looking for confidence, it's looking for these types of receipts. If you have no receipt, which is proof of work, there's no retrieval. No retrieval, no recommendation, no recommendation, no opportunity. See how this flows when you understand how the language of human to machine to human is actually working. The trust infrastructure is that gap that needs to be filled. Now, let me show you how to build this infrastructure operationally. I call it the Brave Blueprint or the Brave Blueprint Strategy, where B stands for bold brand identity. How the world sees you, which is clear, specific, and remembered. But you've got to have be courageous in order to achieve your goals. The R stands for resilient systems, the infrastructure that keeps you showing up when life gets very, very hard. And then A that stands for your authentic voice. You sound like you, not a bot, not a corporate template. It's totally you. Authenticity is currency in the AI era. And then V stands for visionary positioning, where where are you going and why it matters? It has to be in your messaging. And E stands for your executable strategy, the things you're actually doing every week, every day, every month, every year that build authority. Now, most leaders they try to jump straight to executable strategy without the foundation. They want to execute without clarity, and that doesn't work. And AI works the same way. AI is a tool, a very powerful tool, a very powerful platform. But you need to know who you are and what you stand for before you amplify it. Because that is what the platform does. It's an amplification platform. It is a mirror of the thoughts, feelings, ideas, activity that you're putting into it. It'll amplify whether it's wrong or right. And you need to understand that. So start thinking of AI as your kitchen. And you are the chef. You have the recipe. You know what you're making. And AI is what makes you faster, more consistent, more visible. It dices the onions, it preps the station, it helps you to cook at scale. But it doesn't decide what dish that you are making. You do. Remember, there are three things that technology does very, very, very well. Number one is that it can give you speed, speed to market, very fast in how we can do these things. That's why a lot of these companies and enterprises are looking to scale very fast using speed, speed to market utilizing AI. The second thing is communication. When I say communication, I'm talking about language. I'm talking about all the things that it can do in different modalities, whether it's text, whether it's imagery, whether it's video. It does this very, very fast in many different languages. So first is speed, second is communication, and third is scale. It can then scale all of these things to make you more efficient and actually help you to achieve your desired goals, right? So here's how to use the Brave Framework with AI, artificial intelligence. You define your promise, you define your proof, you define your positioning, they use AI to make that promise visible everywhere. And let me explain positioning very simply for you. When I say positioning, especially in a marketing role or in sales and business development, positioning means this. Think about this. Gucci is a very uh billion-dollar company, but they make their billions in different ways. All of them are very profitable, but they have to understand the positioning and the messaging. Walmart is about commodities that you can get low-cost goods very, very quickly in many different locations. Where Gucci is a premium brand. You expect to pay more for a better fashion or style that talks to your prestige. You have to understand where you fit in your branding. Are you a premium brand? Are you more commoditized? Are you technical? Whatever it may be, that positioning is going to determine your messaging and it's going to determine your promise and your proof, right? All this is very, very important. So you write, I want you to write one core message about your authority. And AI will help you to turn that into a whether it's a social post, a newsletter, a script, an article that you write just one time, but AI will then amplify across all these different channels in which your audience, and you have to do your research around this, where your audience gets its information. Remember this about AI as well. At the very later is layer, foundational layer is data. And after that comes information. So data, information, then after that comes knowledge, right? And that's where it meets that human context, right? When the knowledge and then experience and wisdom. That's where all that decision making is coming from. So we need to understand this when you're going, you're amplifying across these different channels. You need to capture what I would say, capture your client's story. Someone who's done business with you. You capture that story. I want you to use your AI to turn it into a case study, turn it into a testimonial, turn it into a video script, a podcast talking point. One truth, many channels, full control, zero compromise. That's very, very important. And then, as I gave my audience as I spoke to them just last week, I want to give you something that you can use immediately. And I call that the seven-day sprint. That builds your visible authority. You don't need to overall everything, your entire brand, today, but you do need seven intentional days, starting hopefully tomorrow, for the next seven days to do this particular sprint. So work with me here. On day one, right now, I want you to write your authority introduction. Now, what is that? That's one sentence. If someone found you online for the first time, what would make them stop scrolling and listening? Right? What is that one thing, that one sentence that if they found you online for the first time, what would make them stop scrolling and then listen to you because you now become the authority in the market that you're looking to influence? I am an AI-powered personal branding and business development professional, helping sales and marketing people in business to actually scale to that next level, whether it's six figures or seven figures. That is what I do, right? I want you to write an authority introduction that says who you are, why you do what you do, and who do you serve, and what is your belief around that? Right? What do you believe that you are the best in that world? That includes your point of view. Your personal story is very, very powerful, and that is what is going to gain attention. So in day two, I want you to find your proof. You've got to, you can't just say what you want and say, yes, I uh this is who I am, but can you prove it? I need you to prove it. I want you to write down three receipts, three testimonials, three case studies, your results, your credentials. I want you to be very, very specific around that, right? So when I say that I'm ranked number one in the world for personal branding on Feed Spot for podcasting in that world, it's the truth. They can verify that by looking it up. When I say I'm ranked in the top five for personal branding by thinkers 360, that's right there. They can look that up. If you can look for other people that have done testimonials about working with me, like Suzanne Croft Washington, you can look it up and find that type of thing. So your credentials are very important. They are the receipts that tells not only your audience from a human perspective, but it tells AI that you are the real deal, that you are authentic in what you're doing. So then day three, I need you to craft your story. Thinking about your origin story, right? Something in your life that was a pivotal change, and that launched you into the endeavor that you're in now, whether it's career or it's business. There's usually something in your world that changed in order for you to be on this current path that you are on. That's crafting your story, that's your origin story. It includes an obstacle that you had to overcome, some kind of obligation, some kind of outcome. Tell that story in day three. We need to hear it, right? Let's see what that looks like. I always love this story. Somebody taught me this around Spider-Man. Now, Spider-Man, a lot of people know Spider-Man, Spider-Man is very well known. But when I ask people, what makes Spider-Man Spider-Man? Most people tell you, well, he got bit by a spider, and then he was radioactive, and then he got superpowers. Like, no, that is not when Spider-Man became Spider-Man. Like, what do you mean? Spider-Man became Spider-Man, not because he just acquired the superpowers. He did get that. But if you really read into the story, it was at the time that his uncle passed. And when his uncle passed, he had was doing something he should not have been doing. He gained money to get a car, to go out and date a girl. And so he was using it for really selfish purposes. And then when he went to go collect his money, one of the robbers who were there, he didn't stop them. And because he didn't stop them, that robber escaped and then went out and actually killed his uncle. And then when he realized that, he realized he had made a mistake. Even though he found the robber and got rid of them, he still was still in a lot of pain. Then he realized he needed to use his powers for good. That was his origin story, right? It's very powerful. What is your origin story? What made you become what you're doing today? When I went back and told you about the story around my father, I was telling you my origin story. How did I get on this path? Why did Grant all of a sudden he was this guy? He was an uh information technology professional selling a lot of different technology to many different different businesses, specifically in healthcare. And then what changed? How did what went gone? So I told you that story around my father, and so I felt a big need to change the systems within healthcare to work better, right? So that's my day three. That was my story that I told you earlier. Now on day four, I need you to then activate your AI. Day four, right? You with me? Activate your artificial intelligence, whether that's chat GPT, your we call, perplexity, Gemini, whatever it may be. I want you to use your AI, use your authority introduction that we talked about in day one as your prompt. I want you to now ask AI to create three versions of a social post that you can then put out there into the social media world. I want you to pick the one that sounds most like you and post it. Just do it, just do it. Remember, we're becoming more visible in this trust infrastructure. And then day five, we want to capture the proof. I want you now to record a five-minute video of yourself answering a question, answering the question that speaks to your expertise in what you do. That is your proof in action. And when you've created this five-minute video, I want you to post it. That's your day five. Just put it out there. This is gonna showcase your expertise. Remember, you're gonna ask yourself a question and answer it in the realm in which you are most uh knowledgeable in. Anyone can do this, right? Day six, I need you to reach out and get permission. All right, what do I mean by that? Reach out and get permission. Find five people that you have already helped. Find five people that you have already helped in the expertise that you have, and ask one question in one sentence what's different because of you working with me, meaning the transformation that they gain by them working with you. That becomes a testimonial, right? And ask permission to record that, right? And that's all I do. A lot of times you'll see me do this live on a lot of my podcasts. What did you like about this podcast? How was it different? And they will, in truthful state, state exactly what they what their experience their experience was. Very important to get that because that's that authenticity layer that people are looking for. People can sense that, they can feel it. So you want to have some feeling in what you're doing, you want to include some facts in what you're doing, and you want to have fun with it. Have fun with it, right? Don't make it so, you know, so um straightway that you can't wiggle, have some flexibility, have some fun and have some humor in what you're doing. You'd be surprised how that will break down and people will reflect on exactly what you were able to bring to their lives in a positive way. So then that leads to day seven, right? You've gone through the whole week. Now you're day seven. It's time to reflect, and it's time to repeat. Look at what worked, do more of that next week. Right? That it's not just a one-time sprint. This is a repeatable process. This is the foundation of a sustainable practice, right? So that's it. That's seven days. That's one authority introduction, that's multiple proof points and one consistent presence. Then you can repeat that every single week. I'm gonna go through this just one more time. Day one, you're gonna write your authority introduction. Day two, you're gonna find your proof and write down those receipts that says who you are and why you do it, right? And how you've been doing it for a number of months, years, decades, it may be, but find your proof. Day three, you're gonna craft your story, your origin story around that. And then day four, you're gonna activate your AI, right? That's four. And as we get to five, we're gonna capture that proof. We're gonna record that five-minute video that people are looking for. And then day six, we're gonna reach out and get permission from five other people that you've already helped. Now you've got a nice body of work, you've got a portfolio of the things I talked about, with your proof, your presence, right? And your promise. All those things, and now you have a body of work around that you can begin to begin creating a flywheel of activity. And all of a sudden you find that you're getting clients, people are tuning into you, you're starting to see uh customer, potential customer interactions, and you're building sales pipeline. That's really what you're looking to do at this point, or you're gaining credibility in the work that you do from your peers and others uh that that need these services that you provide. So here's what I want you to understand the village right now is rebuilding. And every city that I mentioned whether it's in Durham, North Carolina, Kansas City, Missouri or Kansas, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Minneapolis, Minnesota, or Omaha, Nebraska, they're not waiting for permission. They are taking action, they're building civic infrastructure, they're creating economic ecosystems, and they need the trust infrastructure to make these things, all of these things, visible. So if you are an entrepreneur, your expertise matters. The village needs what you know. But they can't find you if you're not visible. If you're a leader, your guidance is critical. The village needs your vision, but you can't scale your impact if people cannot find you. If you're building systems, the village is counting on you. But those systems only work if the expertise inside them is visible and findable. So three days of system delay costs my father his life. You have one chance to be found when someone needs you. Make it count. Authority is not something that you claim, it's something that you build visibly. And it starts with one sentence, it starts with your promise, it starts with your proof, and it starts with your presence. So I'm Grant McGall. I help leaders and ex and entrepreneurs transform, change their expertise into AI ready authority so their voice is found, their voice is trusted, and chosen when it matters most.
