Olympians Jade Johnson and Anson Henry discuss an array of hot topics from the world of Track & Field and beyond. Jade represented Great Britain in the Long Jump while Anson competed for Canada in the 100m and the 4x100m relay. Having competed in two Olympic Games each as well as a combined 5 World Championships, they have A LOT of Track & Field experience. Not to mention having won medals at the Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games, and the European Championships. The couple is extremely passionate and opinionated, and have decided to put their many discussions, heated debates and stories about the sport and its many colourful characters into this unconventional Track & Field podcast. Episode 2 - IOC BAN BLM
In the wake of George Floyd's murder, protests and raised awareness surrounding the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement erupted. Sports organizations worldwide took note and showed solidarity by allowing athletes to peacefully protest without punishment.
However, in April 2021 the International Olympic Committee (IOC) upheld Rule 50, which bans all peaceful protests at the Olympic Games.
In this weeks episode Jade and Anson weigh in on this controversial decision.
