Kazuki Takizawa is a Japanese glass artist, based in Los Angeles. His installation "In Between Light and Shadow" is an expression of his thoughts and feelings about mental health. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder more than ten years ago, Kazuki says that one of the purposes of his art is to draw attention to mental health and to de-stigmatize mental illness. Gail talks with him about living with bipolar disorder, about his piece "Breaking the Silence", which is about suicide, and about the creative process in blowing glass.
