According to the Alzheimer’s Association, Alzheimer’s disease is more prevalent among African Americans than among whites with estimates ranging from 14% to almost 100% higher. Patrick McPhail Martin, Ph.D., the interim director of the Center for Outreach in Alzheimer's, Aging and Community Health (COAACH), and an associate professor of biology in the College of Science and Technology at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University joins Dr. Bland to discuss the emerging public health crisis among African Americans the Silent Epidemic of Alzheimer’s Disease.
