Popular music was in transition—disco was fading and rock was expanding. that year, Pink Floyd's “The Wall” hit #1 on the album charts, and Billy Joel won for Best Album. Ozzy Osborne released his debut solo album. Led Zeppelin broke up.  Pure Prairie League had a hit with singer Vince Gill out front; The Manhattans crossed over from the R&B chart to the mainstream Billboard Hot 100 music chart. Hits were getting help from the movies. Kenny Loggins's "It's Alright" was the theme to Bill Murray's "Caddyshack," winning GRAMMY'S Song Of The Year, and Blondie sang "Call Me" for "American Gigolo."  Queen scored their first hit in America with "Crazy Little Thing Called Love." Singer/Songwriter Christopher Cross was at the top with two hits in 1980. That year he won 5 GRAMMY awards for "Sailing." One Hit Wonders featured are Benny Mardones "Into The Night," Rocky Burnette "Tired Of Toein' The Line," and Irene Cara sang the theme song to "Fame."
