Graventown
A kindness, positivity, mental health and music-magic-based informal conversational town hall created, authored, and produced by award winning Canadian singer songwriter and ex-journalist Matty McKechnie (known musically as Graven). Whether he has acclaimed or interesting pals, comedians, musicians or artists to interview - or even if it's just a solo-yolo convo that he "sends into the universe", Matty would always want you to know that you - whoever and wherever you are - are ALWAYS welcome in Graventown.

Episode 100: Interview w/ George Stroumboulopoulos
G-towners and nonfrowners; hello. Well I did tell you that I did indeed have something epic planned for the century mark episode - and I feel pretty confident to say that I delivered on that promise of Epic-iosity. My guest for episode 100 is none other Canadian and American media personality, ex CBC and Muchmusic television host, podcaster, Apple Music showrunner and all around renaissance man George Stroumboulopoulos. George and I started chatting way back during the early days of the pandemic lockdowns, when he would have me pop on his livestreams (as just some random music guy from Ottawa) and when I was doing the graventown livestream basement shows, he would kindly boost my signal and say nice things in the chat. So as you can imagine, I was thrilled to the gills to have such a busy, massively well known and loved high-octane mind in the graventown studio with me. We talked about a metric tonne of topics; music, film, comedy, the arts in general, Norm Macdonald, Kevin Hearn, Marc Maron, Tom Green, David Letterman, The Misfits, long form conversations, human connection and all kinds of golden goose dropping shiznit. I hope you enjoyed our hang. Good things, friends. Thanks for being here for such a special and very monumental episiode.
My new album "Geographics" is releasing (on my Bandcamp page only) through late January into late February 2026, and every Monday and Friday of those months, I'll have a new song up for you to digest into your ear canals. This album is really special to me (as my friends Melissa Payne and Charles Austin played all over it) and I hope you'll come along for the supersonic ride. Follow me @gravencanada on all the socials, and check my website to see when I'm playing live in a town near you. Join Graventown today to support yours truly for only 8 clams a month.
