In this episode Courtney speaks with Andrea Bombino from Made To Mother about the importance of Equality in workspace as well as challenges with Parental Leave and impact of becoming a mother for business. Andrea also speaks on challenges that women have faced during the new normal type of work also known as work from home.
Andrea (pronounced 'On-dre-ah') is a mother-centered Career Coach and loves helping women step into a new mindset that fits their career aspirations perfectly, with motherhood built right in. After 13 years of mentoring, training and coaching others to reach their full potential at companies like LinkedIn, Andrea hung up her hat as a top salesperson in order to focus on reimagining the future of work for women and mothers. Becoming a mother in 2020 was the catalyst for Andrea diving into her own self-discovery journey and subsequent career expansion which led to the creation of Made to Mother Co - a business aimed at empowering women with the tools necessary to navigate the modern workplace, and helping businesses create and roll-out parental leave programs. Andrea’s dream is to help make paid parental leave the norm across the entire US for all birthing people.
Andrea has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and is a certified Motherhood Studies Practitioner, which means she understands the link between the way we are raised to think about motherhood and how these beliefs play into the way we see ourselves and our careers once we become mothers. Andrea believes women are magic and have the ability to tap into their true selves to create change in the world, especially when women come together in community.
