Are sending Donuts the new D*ck Picks ?! Asking for a friend.

On this week's episode we sat down with the incredibly friendly Phillip Kouch from GOLDELUCKS donuts.  If you didn’t see dick donuts and exploding butterfly donuts on your feed in 2021 then where the heck were you?  Goldelucks has 790k Tiktok followers and just keeps rising! Like a big fluffy donut

This episode is exploding with so much heart and wholesome content for those of us that love a story of how you can start a business and build it online to go viral. Phillip’s family migrated to Australia and opened up a bakery (this was seen as success) and he would help out on weekends and in between uni work. These days, Philip is the Creative director of his very own bakery GOLDELUCKS and his mum helps ice dick donuts so he can dedicate time to creating witty and sweet Tiktoks.

“Since our humble beginnings, We have served more than 350,000 customers and regularly been featured as one of the best doughnut shops in Melbourne by publications such as the Herald Sun and Concrete Playground.” (Side note- They also sell Vegan Donuts.)

Phillip strips back the filter on how you build a brand up from the ground (using social media and Ariande Grande to go viral), the importance of outsourcing, gives great advice on how you can take your brand/business idea and make it a success overnight and reasons why your platform online is your brand!

This episode was recorded in Naarm on the traditional lands of the Kulin Nation People.

Hosted by Renee Buckingham and Chloe Perrett.

Phillip Kuoch

Phillip manages a very successful donut store/bakery called Goldelucks and has since 2015, when he was in his early 20s. He first got started in digital marketing when he was 16 and had an English K-pop blog. At its peak, he had a team of 30 writers and millions of readers each month. His parents originally purchased a bakery and were going to manage the business but his father became unwell so he stepped up to take on the role (taking a year off uni). Since then he has grown the business to new heights and has had media coverage and attention and a significant following on social media. The business is now set up as a franchise as it has grown from just a bakery.
