[00:00:00] Manifestation, Law of Attraction & Spiritual Myths

HOST (Kara):
Welcome back everyone to the Mind Body Detox Podcast. I'm your host, Mind-Body Psychic Medium Kara Lovehart.

If you’ve ever read the book or watched the movie The Secret, you’ve probably heard about the Law of Attraction and manifestation culture. That conversation exploded around 2006 — but since then, we’ve learned a lot about what actually works and what doesn’t.

One of my biggest frustrations with manifestation teachings is the “high vibe only” narrative. That idea that if you’re not constantly positive, grateful, and aligned, you're somehow failing spiritually.

Today’s guest is here to challenge that idea.

David Strickel is the creator of the TYA practice — Trust Your Abundance — a framework that teaches people how to use low vibration and emotional triggers as tools for conscious creation.

So instead of bypassing difficult emotions, his work helps people understand how those experiences actually reveal what’s happening in the subconscious.

David, welcome to the show.

[00:02:00] David’s Childhood & Early Awareness of Conscious Creation

GUEST (David):
Thank you for having me. It’s a pleasure to be here.

I had a very difficult childhood. My parents divorced when I was young and I was largely left to raise myself. Because of that, I developed a strong relationship with an inner voice — something I now believe everyone has access to.

Instead of constantly listening to teachers or outside authority, I kept going inward.

By the time I was around 14, I had already realized something important:
What people say and do often reflects their own belief systems — not your worth.

That realization changed my life.

Even though I grew up in poverty, I understood early that my mindset shaped my reality. By high school, I looked like one of the wealthier kids — even though my family had very little money.

I was manifesting success before I even knew the word for it.

[00:06:00] Kundalini Awakening & Channeling

GUEST (David):
In my early 40s I had what I now understand as a Kundalini awakening. During meditation I experienced an intense surge of energy rising from the base of my spine.

When I connect with that energy, I receive insights about consciousness, human behavior, and how the universe operates.

For years I kept it private. I didn’t want to be labeled a “spiritual person.”

Eventually I discovered Abraham Hicks teachings and realized what I was experiencing had a name: channeling.

[00:10:00] Why “High Vibe Only” Doesn’t Work

HOST (Kara):
One thing I loved about your work is that you challenge the idea that we should always be high vibe.

That’s something I’ve had a lot of frustration with too.

GUEST (David):
Exactly.

We’re not meant to stay high vibration all the time. Our vibration naturally flows up and down.

Low vibration isn’t a failure — it’s feedback.

It shows us what beliefs are operating in the subconscious.

[00:18:00] Low Vibration as a Tool for Growth

GUEST (David):
Low vibration reveals what I call the “vibrational basement.”

Those hidden beliefs, fears, and emotional triggers we carry in the subconscious.

Instead of ignoring them, the TYA practice teaches people to examine them with appreciation — meaning deep understanding rather than judgment.

[00:26:00] What High Vibration Actually Means

GUEST (David):
High vibration simply means greater energetic flow.

Low vibration is contraction.

But both are necessary. Just like storms strengthen trees in a forest, challenges strengthen consciousness.

[00:35:00] Appreciation vs. Judgment

GUEST (David):
Appreciation doesn’t mean liking everything.

It means understanding it deeply enough that you no longer need to fear or judge it.

That perspective reconnects us to source consciousness.

[00:46:00] Daily Practices for Conscious Creation

HOST (Kara):
Before we wrap up, what self-care practice is supporting you right now?

GUEST (David):
Grounding and sunrise meditation.

I go outside, put my feet on the ground, and face the rising sun while meditating. It reconnects me with nature and resets my nervous system.

[00:50:00] Final Thoughts on Human Consciousness

GUEST (David):
If there’s one thing I would detox from humanity, it’s the idea that “they” are the problem.

When we blame others for everything wrong in our lives, we give away our creative power.

True empowerment begins when we take ownership of our vibration.
