All right. 3, 2, 1. Let's get it. Welcome to another episode of What's Your Problem, the podcast. I am your host, marsh Bi, and we are on episode, I think nine 17. And I titled Today's episode, be Better on the 10th Day. And it's inspired from Cameron Haynes new book, undeniable. And if you haven't checked out Cameron Haynes, I would definitely tell you, man, check out. This dude's a complete savage. He's. He's, uh, he's a savage like David Goggins just a little bit. Uh, obviously his, his persona, his personality's a little bit different. Um, so those of you, if, if, uh, David Goggins kind of turns you off, um, and you know, you just, I don't know, just doesn't really resonate with you, you may wanna check out, uh, Cameron Haynes and this is his second book and I've just started the new book, undeniable, and I'm sure I'm gonna be sharing different. Insights that I get, man, because one thing that I, I just really love about reading is I always pick up on something. I'm, I'm, my soul is like super, super sensitive. So when something like triggers me, I'm like, Ugh. And I, I'm, I, I just stop. I, I can't go any further because I want to unpack that idea. And I've tried before bookmarking stuff and then coming back to it, but. The, uh, the, you know, the, the, i I, I guess the, the energy that was there at that time, I, I don't even remember what it was for. And, you know, I, I laugh saying this because I'm bringing you this message right before I go to work. So hopefully I can get this done all in one take because I wanna share this message. One thing that's like super. Uh, valuable to me that brings me a lot of energy is being able to share something and get it out there and go on to the next thing. So if you notice, I don't really share a lot of older episodes or anything like that. I just don't like backtracking and I don't like combing through those. They're there. If you wanna go through'em, listen to 'em. If not, it's cool too. Um, I go back sometimes and listen to 'em just because. Like I was saying yesterday, sometimes I just get a little bit off the feeder road and I need to recenter. Um, and so I go back to those. I have, dude, I probably have 50 episodes that I have recorded and just never publish because every day is my mandate to write something new every single day. So if I don't get it out that day, it's just in the can and I've moved on to something else. I don't know, it's just something about me that I just. Uh, uh, you know, I, I struggle with that. That's a big source of frustration that I have is because I have more things that I have shared and I haven't gotten out there into the light of day. So I don't know if you have any ideas, DM me on how to get those out. Plus dude, I've even asked Chad, I'm like, okay, here's the situation I have to read every day. I have to write every single day. I have to share something of value every single day. And, you know, but then I have all these older episodes and you know, Chad's always gonna give you some sort of, you know, she never says, I don't know, that's up to you. But, you know, I read this stuff. I'm like, nah, I'm not going with that. So anyway, real quickly, um, I just came from the gym, so excuses the sweat, hopefully I'm not too funky for you, but let me, let me share with you, I, I would definitely urge you. The long version of saying check out, check out his book. I'm, I'm, uh, I'm really, really digging his book. He said this, and this is what really stung me. He said, preparation is an assortment of tools that you carry, but determination is an attitude that you bring with those tools. He goes on to say that preparation gets you to the excitement of day one, but determination is what keeps you going on day 10. And day 10 is when you're beat down, when you're fatigued, when you're just ready to quit. And that's the goal. Be better on the 10th day because by day 10 to his point, he says, on the 10th day, you've adjusted. You're more acclimated to the environment. You're more aware it's familiar. And now you're, you're hungrier. Hungrier more than ever. And I share this message with you because how many times have you quit? Just a few days into it, you had this rhythm going and then the wheels fell off. You missed a day or two life step back in, you know, you come out with this plan. And it all works, man. You're like, all right, here we go. Here we go. And then that second day, man, that third day, the wheels start wobbling and then knocks you off track, and then you, you gave up entirely. Or even better yet, maybe you've never even started. So there is something that you need to get started in your life and you haven't started, whether it be fitness, whether it be in your finances, whether it be some sort of professional fulfillment. Whether it be more so in your faith, whether it be in relationships, whatever the case may be, this works in all areas, but maybe you've never started something. And fitness is probably our, our biggest thing. And you didn't start because you, you, you had these theme days and lemme tell you what the theme days are. What are they? I'm gonna start Monday, I'm gonna start next week. I'm gonna start next month. I'm gonna start at the first of the year. And we blow right past those theme days. Because something came up, something is always gonna come up. See, you didn't start because where you are today feels overwhelming, man, from where you wanna be, it is. And you sit there and you get this awareness. You're like, oh my God, how did I get my eye off the ball? Where did the slip come? It didn't. It didn't happen all at once. It happened once all the time. And so now you're standing at this crossroads and you're like, bro, you know how long this is gonna take? And you know, you do the, you do the research. And so if it's losing weight, that means I have to. Sacrifice 500 calories a day to, to lose just one pound. And you know, we eat mindlessly, but when it comes to mindful eating, it's like, oh my God, I don't have enough. It's just now you're bringing an awareness to it and you're like, bro, I've been smashing some shit. It, and so you, you get to these points and you're looking at it right now and you're like, bro, for me to dig out of this situation. It's gonna take me six months, it's gonna take me two years. And seeing that man is like solitary confinement because you're getting back the goal that you want, bro. It's just back to baseline. It's where you were before not improving, and you're like, man, where could I be? Had I, you know? And then we start kicking the can down the road and we start, what if? And. And we get frustrated and to cope, we overeat, we drink, and we sleep in and go to Netflix and it just becomes this vicious, vicious cycle. But here's the thing that triggered me when I read this and I was, I was working out yesterday. I am like, bro, what a great insight. What if instead of looking at everything in 90 days or six months. Or one year, bro, if you look at something, man, 10 years from now, I'm gonna be, it is. It is so far out, you're like, oh, hell with it. But what if you broke everything down into 10 day increments? Think about that to Cam Haines point. Just break it down to 10 day increments. So the preparation is the starting part, right? And so you start off with the piss and vinegar, but then on day three. Is when the voices kick in and be like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. See, day one, your voices were like, all right, I see you booby. You gonna be a new you? I'm with you, bro. I'm with you. Get after it. But day three, it's like, man, are you crazy? You work a lot, man. You got a family to run. I mean, you, you can't do this. Why don't you sleep in today? And you get to these points, man, and this is where you get into negotiations with yourself and you say, I'll just double up tomorrow. But what if you looked at, if you looked at everything in 10 day increments and you're on day three, and those voices kick in of lay up. Because you're only, you're three days into it and you've only got seven more days to to reach day 10. You're like, if today's Tuesday and I got seven more days, I just gotta get to next Tuesday. That's it. Seven more days. And then the cycle ends. And then when you get to the end of that cycle, man, you reassess. You re-look at it. And because you've put in the work, you got past the sticking point of day three. Even if you didn't, even if you, on day four, it was like you half-assed it, bro. You still check the box. You got it. And you get past these, these bumping points. A failure. You get past these things. This is what builds the determination. It's gonna build a grit. You don't realize it, but things are happening. Just because you're not seeing the change, doesn't mean things aren't changing within you. And so that that quit muscle begins to weaken and that fuck yeah, muscle begins to strengthen. And then here you go. Here you go. And you get to day 10, you reassess, you look at it, and then you start day one again. New cycle. So it's a new cycle of 10 days. So you're on cycle two of the 10 day increment. Forget committing to the six months. If that hasn't worked for you, don't do it. The 90 day plans, I've preached about that LA bro, look, you only need 90 days. I've said that many times and the only thing bro, that kept me in the game was just win the decision today. These checkpoints that I do, just win the decision. Don't give any of your your, um, your wins back and rinse and repeat every single day. Yeah, but man, I'm reading this. I'm like, bro, I'm gonna chop this up and let's see where I'm at 10 days from now. Reassess, level up and go 10 days more. That's all you need, bro, is 10 days. Day one is preparation. And lemme tell you something, you have enough to get started. Quit all the research, quit all the special shoes, quit all the gym memberships. Whatever you got right now, whatever you can afford, that's all you're gonna go with. Eliminate the excuses. And so you start with that. You got time, you get the same alive. That is the only thing that's equal ground for all of us. You realize that. I know it's so cliche. We hear all that all the time, but that is the only thing that is fair. That is it. We all get the same amount of time. What you do with that is a totally different thing. So you got the time, you got the tools, and now you gotta get creative. This is why creativity is one of the things that I talk about all the time. Communication, curiosity, creativity, continuous learning and action, and productive confrontation. That's the five life skills that you need, but they don't just come to you. You don't download an app. You gotta work within that ecosystem. So you gotta get creative. Whatever you have, use it. Day two, here comes the determination. You're gonna push through the discomfort that day. Two's gonna be easy. You gotta outlast the voice says ease up. Day three, it's when it gets a little muddy. It's when life kicks back in and say, bro, look, I gave you two days of. Solitude to do your thing. It's my time and you're gonna get disrupted. Life's gonna try to knock you off track, bro. I don't care if you do 10 minutes and you have committed to 30, you get 10 minutes here, you get five minutes over here. Another six hours from now, you squeeze in another five minutes. I don't care. As long as you get, it doesn't have to be sequential. It's your time, it's your commitment, but you don't miss, and I've only got 10 days to do it. This is what's gonna help break this cycle in day 10. When you get there to Cam Haynes's, point you, you've, everything's familiar. You, you've getting, you've got this rhythm down, okay, you've gotten acclimated, you're over this fatigue, and really the fatigue that you feel is just your emotions. It means that you've gotten, you, you've gotten outta your comfort zone and your emotions are bitching at you and screaming at you to go back. Is that, is that the person you wanna be? Is that, is this the life? Is this it? Or is there more 10 day increments? 10 day increments. And then when you get to day 10, like I said, you reassess. You recalibrate. And you go at it again. Here's what I like about it. I just got finished working out. I didn't go to the gym today and say I'm gonna do 200 reps of anything. Ain't no way anybody's gonna go to the gym saying they gotta do 200 reps. That's why we break everything down to sets of 10, to sets of 12, to sets of 15 to sets of eight, because breaking it down in small increments. It makes it more feasible. And so I have these little pockets where I can do it, reassess, add weight, go back at it again, the same sort of analogy for your life. So when you look at this as sets of 10, 10 day increments, you just at, at the end of that 10th day. You just load the bar, you may add a half a pound, you may add two pounds, you may add five pounds. But see, you're adding that resistance to it and that determination and you're keeping commitments to yourself. And then when you get knocked off track, you're like, bro, I got this. I know what to do. I'm creative, I'm curious. I'm gonna figure this thing out and that FIO muscle, figure it out. Muscle kicks in. And then you just, you just keep recalibrating. So try this man if thing, if the 90 day thing hadn't been working for you or the 30 day fast cleanse juice thing, I mean all that bullshit, man. Just set it for 10 days and whatever it is, it's the five Fs. Your faith, your family, which is also your relationships, your fitness, your finances, your fulfillment, creative and professional fulfillment, whatever area, all the areas, just pick one. You got the tools, get started. You don't need more research. Get started. Go 10 days. A solid ass, 10 days. Don't break the link, and at the end of that 10 days, reassess. And then the next day is day one, cycle two. Alright, DM me, man, let me know what your progress or tag me on whatever your socials and be like, bro, I'm on cycle three, because we're gonna start to see that progress and I'm doing this thing with you. All right? As always, lemme get outta here. Keep it simple, keep it moving. Never settle. Stay tough. Peace.
