927. Plant The Seed & Don't Dig It Up.
I was reading "Born of This Land" by Chung Ju-Yung, the founder of Hyundai, and one passage stopped me, causing me to whip out my legal pad and really think it through.
“When a small idea, the size of a grain of rice, is implanted in my mind, I nurture it until it grows into a major project I can visualize in my head.”
That’s the key.
Most people dig up their seed(s) too early.
They let circumstances, rejection, or bad news convince them it's not possible.
But if you’re blessed with a thought, plant it.
Protect it.
Nurture it.
Visualize it.
And don’t sabotage it with your own words, actions, or habits (nor anyone else's words, actions, or habits.)
This episode serves as a reminder to stop giving your energy to doubt and start directing it toward what you say you want. If people tell you you’re crazy, you’re probably on the right track.

All right. 3, 2, 1. Let's get it. Plant the seed and protect it. This morning I was reading Born of This Land, and it's by Chung Ju-Yung, and he's the founder of Hyundai. And one passage really hit me hard. He said this, like all business people, a great idea starts with a single thought. And when a small idea, the size of a grain of rice is implanted in my mind, I nurture it until it grows into a major project I can visualize in my head. He said, this is his specialty, not just him planting the seed. But also in planting multiple seeds. In doing so, he would carefully consider each one as they grew and then choose which ones to cultivate. He went on to say that the desire for newer and bigger projects is the very source of energy for business people. That whole passage just, I. Ignited me so true because I believe that every great person, anyone who has ever moved heaven and earth, has achieved this trait. See when they're blessed, and I say blessed, when they're blessed with a seed of thought, they plan And they don't dig it up. They don't let circumstances, rejection or bad news pull that seed outta the ground. They don't let how things look right now change their belief in what's possible. They plant it. They nurture it, they focus on it, they visualize it, and they work toward it. That's a trait worth developing. If you're blessed with a thought, I want you to plant it, if it brings you energy, even if it frustrates you, because at times, man, it's going to frustrate you. That means you're on the right track plant it. If it's something you just. Incessantly, keep thinking about plant it. Not only plant it, but protect it. Don't let the environment, don't let the noise. Don't let someone else's opinion. Don't let what it looks like right now or in the near future. Don't let anything dig that seed up. And also don't limit yourself to one idea. To Chung, Ju-Yung's point plant, multiple seeds. They're yours. They're only yours. So plant 'em. And many times they're gonna connect in ways that maybe you couldn't have even predicted. So one seed, like many seeds. One seed influences another. One project may open up doors for something even bigger. Born of this land isn't just a story about Hyundai as a car company. Chung Ju-Yung built ships, highways, cars, and so much more, and it's not like he came from a privileged background either, bro. Like he was poor dude at times. They were so poor they had to eat tree bark to stay alive. His family did not have business ties. They were farmers. They had no education. As a matter of fact, his parents told him he was foolish. He would always be a farmer. He would be a nothing yet. He refused to dig up his seed. Most people give up because they think I can't do this. Not that it can't be done. They just reduce themselves so much, and my hand's raised on this. We reduce ourselves so much where we think that it's really for. Someone else who's talented, who's more skillful, who's more connected, who has more resources, and that's just not true. Here's the deeper part of the message. Once you plant the seed, this is super important. Plant the seed. Don't let circumstances, environment, rejection, how it looks right now. Don't, don't let any of that dig it up, but more importantly, when you plant the seed, don't do anything to sabotage it. See, that's at your own hands. Don't let any sort of destructive thoughts or speech. Poison it sometimes, dude, you gotta protect that at all costs. Sometimes you don't even, and you do that by not even talking about it. Don't let poor habits force you to backtrack. If your sleep, your diet, your relationships, your coping mechanisms are draining you, you won't have the energy or the clarity to tend to your seed. Every time that you have to go back and clean up a mess that you created, that's time and energy that's stolen from your future. You just move the seed around. You just moved it over and when it keeps getting moved. It doesn't foster the environment for it to grow. So what I want you to do is I want you to plant the seed, visualize it, protect it, breathe life into it. Don't dig it up. Don't sabotage it with your own behavior, and don't let anyone tell you it can't be done. And don't let anything. Regardless how it looks right now, you're only looking at the circumstances as it is right now. You're only taking some of your experience from the past and applying that through the lens of everything that you've seen. But what you see is not all there is plant It, protect it, nurture it. Don't sabotage it. Don't speak death into it. Speak life. Align your life, and damn it, if that's what you want, if that's what brings you energy, it's gonna come about. I'll leave you with this. If people tell you that you're crazy, you're on the right track. Let's get outta here. Thanks for sharing this episode with one person who needs to plant that seed. Keep it simple, keep it moving. Never settle. Stay tough. Peace.
