Welcome back, everyone, to another episode of Obnoxiously Pleasant. Yes. They know who we are, right? Yes, absolutely.
SPEAKER_02Do you guys actually know who we are? They know.
SPEAKER_00So if you don't know, and we did notice that there are some new folks here, and then some gosh, the people who have been with us since the beginning, we love you. But this episode is just gonna be like another just like chatty just a hangout session. Hangout session with the two of us. Yeah, no specific topic, right? Yeah, yeah, we're just chatting and talking. There's a few things that we wanted to talk about, both Lena and I, and we were gonna have this conversation in person, and I was like, let's just film it into a podcast episode. And then you guys can tell us, like, you know, your opinions on all of the things we mentioned. Issue number one. Are you ready?
SPEAKER_02Okay, I just want to say that I wanted to call this episode Everything Hurts. But that's the way issue number one was gonna be. We're gonna talk about that. Everything hurts. Like everything's hard. Like, even my nose hurts. Like my eye hurts, my nose hurts, my back hurts.
SPEAKER_00Guys, life after 40 is really hard.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god. Let me not say that. I twisted my back the other day. Doing what? I woke up and it was messed up, okay? She woke up like no, shut up. And honestly, I'm just like, I'm gonna ignore that and just keep on moving. Honestly, I'm just like, am I dying? Like, am I is it like a is it like a like a blood clothing?
SPEAKER_00Can I tell you guys? Can I tell you that both Lena and I are the worst hypochondrics? Like, we cannot help each other. This is the one area where we both fail. Like, she's a hypochondriac and I'm worse. And like, she's a hypochondriac and I'm anxiety girl.
SPEAKER_02So together, we're both dying. The anxiety, too. And then, like, you know, like I had a vessel burst in my eye, and look, I'm like, it's fine. Yeah, and then like I felt like it came back. And I'm like, what is going on?
SPEAKER_00And it's funny that you said that because the other day I was thinking, I was like, oh, I have this lag and next. There's this pinch right here in my chest. Oh my god. And then is in the back. And then I was like, oh my god, is this a heart attack?
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, what's happening? Dude, I've I've I've been on Google and I'm just like, you know what? You know, that's the worst you should never do. I know. My doctor always tells me, she's like, Did you get on Google? Because every time I go to her, I'm like, oh my God, we need to do this exam. And she's like, why? Is it right? You know, I'm like, because I read, and she's like, no. Lena's like, I need a CT with a contrast. No, because and then, but I've gotten to the point where I'm just like, you know what? Alhamdulillah, you know, in the lillahu and my god. I'm just like That is serious. We're not dying. I don't know, man. I mean, we're all dying. We're just but you know, I'm just like, everything hurts.
SPEAKER_00So here's the thing. I don't feel like everything hurts. I do feel like so. Here's the thing, right? And that was one of the things that I want to talk about, was just like life in your we're both approaching our mid-40s this year, officially, right? Yes. This year both Leena and I are gonna be 45.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like you always have to put our age on about our age. Because I'm not, I don't feel that. I don't feel that way either. Like physically.
SPEAKER_00But I don't feel that way either. But I love that we're both like, I mean, honestly, honestly, for all the people out there.
SPEAKER_02We look really good for our age. Alhamdulillah. Yeah, mashallah. Mashallah. Say mashallah.
SPEAKER_01I already have, I feel like I have all sorts of an on me.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, that's so funny. My mom always says that. She's like, well, if you guys wouldn't put yourself on the internet, I don't know. Nothing would happen, right? Nothing would happen. But anyways, but yeah, no, I am very, I will say, like, life in your mid-40s. There are things that likeliness has like everything hurts. Then there are other things that I'm just like, I'm so happy to be in this age because like I've like stopped caring about a lot of things. So you should care about.
SPEAKER_02That's true. Yeah. I mean, I just I don't know, inshallah kid. I mean, I feel like I'm getting better, but I'm like, by Monday, if my back doesn't get better, I have to go to the doctor. I don't want to be fine. You don't need to go to the doctor. Like, like the eye thing too. I'm just like, Shufi, like, what's going on? Clearly. I'm telling you, like, and I'm like, I can't help her because I'm a worse hypochondriac. Yeah, okay. Moving on, I don't want to keep talking about it. But moving on, what else did you want to talk about?
SPEAKER_00So I wanted to talk about these freaking unprecedented times that we live in. Guys, I am so never in my life have I woken up every day. And I like really realized that a source, a lot of like huge source of my stress, by the way, has just been like the news. Yeah. Every day there's something crazy happening. Every, every day. I'm like, what is this? Like, why what is this reality, terrible reality TV show that we're putting in?
SPEAKER_02Right? It's horrible. It's horrible. Like, like I was reading an article. I think it was an accident.
SPEAKER_00I don't even know why you read an article. You read for the fucking.
SPEAKER_02It says, it says, how to handle the crazy news cycle that we're in. And I'm just like, and they're like, oh, just check the news one time during the day. And I'm just like, I can't do that. Like, I'm constantly getting notifications.
SPEAKER_00My problem is the same thing. It's the notifications. And I'm like, well, do I want to turn off the notifications? And I'm like, no, I can't turn off the notifications. I have, and then it's like, I feel like it's everywhere. Like you get on any social media outlet, like it's all there. And it's fine. I'm not complaining about it. I mean, I kind of am complaining about it. I just, it, there's always so much happening every single day. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just like, can we just have like a week? Like that means that I want to be in precedented times. Like, I'm good. I don't I don't want to be in unprecedented times. I want to like stop waking up to, oh my God, what's gonna happen today? So yeah, that's another thing that's like really weighing heavily on my mind now. Now for other, you know, like I feel like we're being a little negative, right?
SPEAKER_02No, I don't think we're being negative. We're just talking about how we feel. I'm sure others feel the same way.
SPEAKER_00You guys feel the same way. Can you guys like let us know, like in the comments? Just let us know like how you're feeling. What's your, you know, what's your your your I don't know, what's your take on what's happening? Like, are you just as stressed out? Are you like, okay, I'm hopeful. And if you have good coping mechanisms, please drop them. Because clearly, anxiety girl and hypochondriac girl over here are not doing well.
SPEAKER_02I have anxiety too, you know. I know, I know.
SPEAKER_00It's bad, but it's but and it's funny because in that sense, we're both like the same human. We both have anxiety and we both are hypochondriacs. Yes. So speaking of everything hurts, I'll tell you a funny story. And I'll tell you guys a funny story. So this week, I had my most favorite appointment, JK, ever. I had my annual at the gynecologist. Okay, that's a lot of fun. Love those appointments, right? And then in the middle of my appointment, the doctor looks at me and she goes, guess what? And she I was like, What? She goes, You're turning 45 this year. Oh my god. And I was like, Well, what's happening? She gives me an order for a colonoscopy. I was like, what? What? At 45? Apparently you have to get colonoscopies at 45.
SPEAKER_02I thought it was 50. No, it's 45. Oh my God. So that's what I have to look forward to.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so that uh you're older than me, bet.
SPEAKER_02I haven't got my my my appointment, I think, is in April. Guys, she's only like four months older than me. So not that much of a let me forget.
SPEAKER_00I will never let her forget. She's older than me. She owned. 45. Yeah. Did you like did anybody else know this? And I just did it. I thought it was 50. No, it's 45.
SPEAKER_02Okay, we're 40.
SPEAKER_00Let me let me tell you, I walked out of the appointment a little bit sad.
SPEAKER_02And why is she so excited telling you to do that?
SPEAKER_00She was just she was actually making a joke. Oh yeah, she was making a joke. I really like her. She's she's she's really, really funny. And every guys, every time I find that gynecologist that I like, and you know that's hard. Like, that's a very personal doctor. She's like pregnant and she's having children, and then she like leaves. I don't know when she's gonna leave.
SPEAKER_02No, she's not gonna take some time off, Annie. Yeah, she's having twins.
SPEAKER_00When is she due? She's due in the summer sometime.
SPEAKER_02She'll be back by your next time. I know, right? Yeah, it'll be fine. She can get a nanny. It's fine. She does have an annie already.
SPEAKER_00We talked about this at the appointment.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. Okay, interesting.
SPEAKER_00So it's uh, but yeah, but that that's yeah, that's something I thought I would.
SPEAKER_02But you're drugged, they drug you, right? I think so.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think you're like asleep. Like somebody should drive you and drive you home because yeah. I mean, can you imagine we already have to get our gynecological exams? You I swear to God, if men were getting gynecology exams, we would be asleep for those two. Yes, true. It's only because men get colonoscopies that we're asleep for. That's true, I agree. There are things that like women endure, like pain-wise, that I don't even okay. Like this is TMI, okay, but we're all girlfriends here and friends. Yeah, include the guys who watch us. That's what I said. Everybody. Okay, okay for all the lovers who watch us. There are so many things that women endure, okay? And I'm not talking about pregnancy and delivery. No, I will have a baby 10 times, like, yeah, like ID, no problem. And then like not have an IUD inserted. That was I swear to, I was just like, what's happening? It was so uncomfortable. Anyways, this this conversation took a really weird turn, but it's okay.
SPEAKER_02It's okay. Um I went to the movies on the weekend with the kids. They wanted to see the this anime we were watching. The one I told you they made me watch, it's called Attack on Titan. And uh, I actually am surprised, like surprisingly, I actually really liked it. But the funny is the last two hours of the show, yeah, they they made it into a movie. Like you can go and watch it. Yeah, so the kids wanted to, even we had seen it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so we we're just gonna movie theater at the DC.
SPEAKER_02And can I just say if you're going to the movies, just shut the F up, dude. Like, there are these two. Like, so we're sitting and like my kids are are to the right of me, and then next to my daughter, there's this boy and this girl.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And like older, her age, younger, no, like teenagers. Teenagers, okay.
SPEAKER_02And and I think they're brother and sister. Yeah, okay, because I didn't hear that conversation, but they continue to speak like the first 20 minutes. In the end, I'm like, Do I say something? Do I not? Do I and I'm like, but you know what? No, I was like, shh, because everyone was annoyed and no one would say anything. Okay, and then I'm I looked at them, I'm like, can you stop? And and and the the worst thing, it's like, yeah, and he Raya was telling me that the entire time he's like, What is this? What is this? It's like so obvious. Sorry, it's so obvious that he didn't watch the show, yeah, and his sister brought him.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. Well, I mean, he at least he's a nice brother.
SPEAKER_02He came with her. Lina's such a girl. No, no, I'm not, I'm not a can, dude. Like, you go to the movies, just don't talk. Like, if you're talking about it.
SPEAKER_00But look, that for me is like innocent. My sister-in-law was telling me Noah's not innocent. When people are telling you to be quiet, yeah, but they're kids. It's look, I uh give them grace because they're kids, but it's bad for me when I'm they're like 18 or 19, they're not kids. They're still not like they're still not middle-aged people who are doing this. I don't know. I think you should just that's like common courtesy. No, there is my my sister-in-law was telling me her and one of our friends went to uh the movies together. So sometimes here at like Is this recent? Yeah, yeah. So maybe like two months ago. Certain cinemas. They play like Middle Eastern movies, like Egyptian movies, and sometimes they do Indian movies. Okay. So they went to see an Egyptian movie that was playing at that movie theater. So my sister-in-in-law goes, we're sitting there, and she's like, There is uh uh a couple behind us, older couple, okay, like middle-aged couple, yeah, having a full-on conversation while we're watching the movie. So her sister looks back and she's just like, you know, can you guys be quiet? And don't tell me they gave her attitude. Gave her attitude. My wife goes, Don't listen, ignore her, ignore her.
SPEAKER_01She's like, I'm like, what?
SPEAKER_00Literally, she looks at this woman dead in the face. She looks at my sister. So if it's an Egyptian movie, she's Arab. Yeah, ignore that's why I said ignore her. Ignore her. Ignore her, and she's just like, is she talking to me?
SPEAKER_01Is she telling him to ignore me while they're there sitting there having a conversation? Dude, you're not in your living room.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're not in your living room. I mean, yeah, look, there is, I I think it's like when I go to so the last, in all fairness, the last movie that I saw, and I say the scene movie twice, I saw it with my youngest son, so it was Dog Man. So that is, you are but it's funny because kids that age actually don't really talk at the theater. No, they don't. They're they're sitting here watching the movie, but it's hilarious. So I the first time he saw Dogman, um, I took him with we met up with his some of his friends from school. Okay. And the moms, and we sat in the last room of the theater. Um they we walked out of there. It looked like a but like a bad house party when we walked out of the theater. It was a mess. It was a mess. They dropped.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but okay, but did they clean up like the bags and stuff after?
SPEAKER_00No, they cleaned up as much as they could, but there's just I I don't know what happened during that movie.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So there was that, and but the second time we went to see it was for our birthday party. So they had rented out the theater, and that was that was cute too. But yeah, I I mean No, if you're going to the movies, just don't talk.
SPEAKER_02You know me, I don't really think. Just don't talk. It's really not that serious. Yeah, like just don't talk. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, I'm not being unreasonable. No, it's not unreasonable. It's just common like courtesy, common decency to your fellow movie people who are sitting there trying to like your fellow movie movie. Anyway, before I forget, so um remember my coworker Heytham?
SPEAKER_00He's the one who's like watching us now?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he's mad at us because he's like, I can't believe you guys hated on because he got a cyber truck.
SPEAKER_00Oh he's mad. You know what, Heightham Cybertruck. F you and your cyber truck.
SPEAKER_01No, she's just joking. I don't say that. I am not joking. He's like, it's a great, it's a great okay.
SPEAKER_00Fine, Hey Fem, not F you, just your Cybertruck.
SPEAKER_02He's like, he's like, how dare you guys?
SPEAKER_00How dare you give your money to Elon?
SPEAKER_02I know, right?
SPEAKER_00God, yeah. He was upset. I don't care what anybody says, those things are so freaking ugly, they're so ugly.
SPEAKER_02And he's like, you know, when I go home, I don't have to drive. Like it drives for me. You know what, Heythem, then maybe you should just get a driver and not a cyber truck.
SPEAKER_00Or maybe you don't need a car at all. Maybe you could take public transport instead of giving your money to Elon. I don't even know Heatham. I don't know you. You've never met Haythem? We already have like I gotta introduce you to Heatham. No, he's cool. Just not a fight.
SPEAKER_02She's joking. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. He's really nice. Not if he drives a cyber truck. I know. I mean, like, listen, nobody's perfect, right? Uh, anything else you want to talk about?
SPEAKER_00Well, I'm not over the whole like, I can't believe we hated on Cybertrucks, but whatever. Look, everybody's allowed to like and dislike stuff. I don't like Cybertrucks, end of story.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um I don't like Elon. Did you see me neither? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you saw that video in the Oval Office. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like, what is going on?
SPEAKER_00You know, my favorite part of that video was his son just picking his nose and putting on the desk.
SPEAKER_02And then telling the Trump to shut up. Yeah, I just, I just that whoever had that hot mic on, yeah. Yes. I don't know. It's crazy. That was just while it's like, who's the president here? I'm just curious. But it was the little little ex. Isn't that his name, little X? Uh someone called him Little Twitter. Someone online was like, little Twitter over here. Because you know, I refuse to call it X. I'm one of those petty people. I'm like, I still call it Twitter. Even when I search for it on.
SPEAKER_00But it's like when you say when you call the platform X and you're like so-and-so tweeted, like Yeah. What do you think? You can't say so-and-so exed. Yeah, exeded exactly. It just doesn't make sense. So-and-so axed. Anyways, moving on with our lives. What else?
SPEAKER_02Um, did you watch Muslim Matchmaker? No. On Hulu texting. I actually know the girl, the lady who's really yeah, it's funny. Her name is Yasmin. We had her, I had her um on uh one of these Tanhause that I did a long time ago.
SPEAKER_00So Lena's talking about a new show on Hulu called Muslim Matchmaking. She texted me about it the other day and she's like, oh my god, I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_02Why don't I do a review? But look, just check it out. I was like, girl, I don't do my.
SPEAKER_00It's actually like some of these people, I'm just like, you know, my problem is that really, unless you ask me to watch something, or like unless it's something I'm genuinely looking forward to, I like really don't ever watch TV. I mean, it just popped up. I opened up. My problem is that I am constantly stuck in the TikTok like rabbit hole. Like I'm just always on TikTok. The short form. The short form, and then it's like, and then sometimes stuff pops up in my feed, and then I am just scroll, scroll, scroll, like doom scroll. It's one of my, my god, it's one of like my most favorite things to do. I'm not even gonna sit here and pretend like I can't.
SPEAKER_02No, but it's interesting. I mean, it's just like half-hour episodes, it's only eight seasons, but it's it's eight seasons. I mean, eight uh episodes, sorry. Half hour episodes, eight episodes. Okay, well, we'll we can we can try to find it. It's interesting, you know. It's interesting. Yeah, and they're there, it's her and another girl, and they're like the matchmaking uh not bad, not bad.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so it's Valentine's Day weekend.
SPEAKER_02Well, it was yesterday, yeah.
SPEAKER_00True. I'm sure a lot of people celebrated yesterday. However, did you do anything Valentine's Day, Lena? Nope. You know, honestly, it's one of those weird holidays. I will say, my husband bought me flowers yesterday. Okay, and then my younger son looks at him and he goes, Who are those for?
SPEAKER_02Oh, right, really? Okay, why? Why is he surprised?
SPEAKER_00My husband goes, they're for my Valentine. Okay, right? And so he's like, Oh, okay, that's fine. And then he proceeds to go into the list of things that he needs.
SPEAKER_02This is your son. This is my son. Interesting. No, I don't, I didn't do anything. I don't celebrate. You know how I feel about Valentine's Day.
SPEAKER_00Honestly, honestly, like I just don't even, it's not a thing. No, and look, but look, if it's your thing, like cool. Hey, like, don't don't let us be, you know, over here sitting on our black.
SPEAKER_02No, I just my like my my take on it is if someone's gonna love you, they should love you every day. If they're gonna show you they love you, they should do that every day. But let's be realistic.
SPEAKER_00This is just this is consumerism, but yeah, but let's be realistic. Some people, this thing matters so them. So if that's fine matters to you, that's fine.
SPEAKER_02I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. You're so nice. Yeah, you're so nice. I'm just like just wasting money on this stuff. Some people don't want to be like, just go to dinner. Some people go to dinner, but like going out of your way to these to do these ridiculous things is some people need look.
SPEAKER_00I people have different, yeah, like ways that they give love and receive love. Okay. Okay. And so maybe someone's love language, right, is to celebrate these holidays and is to make it a big deal for their significant other. Maybe it's their significant other's like love language. And so, like I said, if it's your thing, I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day.
SPEAKER_02And that's just being politically correct.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm just being nice. I'm being a normal human being.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00My god. Anyways, I update on my triangle hair.
SPEAKER_01There is no triangle hair. Chat update on my triangle.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I never said this was gonna be an organized discussion. I said this was gonna be a hangout. You guys are hanging out with us. It's like a chatty. You know, I actually wanted to do this on the couch today, but it takes a lot of setup on the couch. The problem is the lighting there isn't great. Yeah, but I wanted to do, she talks about the lighting there. It's literally like over here. The couch is like right there.
SPEAKER_02It's not the same. But yeah, but I wanted this helps. There's some lighting here, and then there's the no, it's so different.
SPEAKER_00Anyways, I wanted because it's like a chatty kind of hangout episode, I wanted to do it on the couch so we could just be like comfortable and whatever, but Lena's like, no.
SPEAKER_02You know, there's bird flu apparently now we gotta worry about.
SPEAKER_00I bought eggs today.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_00You know, speaking of, I gotta tell you something funny. So I was just telling you guys, my husband bought me flowers like on Valentine's Day. So I texted him and I said, Hey, I got you the best Valentine's Day gift ever. And he goes, What? And I'm like, I got your organic pasteure raised eggs for market price, not above.
SPEAKER_02I mean that that's good. How much are eggs now these days in Witch?
SPEAKER_00Because I don't do the shopping, so they're like eight bucks. Really? Yeah, like for the organic pasture raised eggs, it's like eight dollars, sometimes nine or ten.
SPEAKER_02What about the like non-organic, non-whatever? I don't want to eat that egg.
unknownI'm just curious.
SPEAKER_02I don't I don't do the shopping.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Yeah, Lena doesn't grocery shopping. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02That's something you guys don't know about Lena. Lena does not do the grocery shopping in her house. I just sent him a list.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean, honestly, he's really good at it. Which is uh I again, again, it's not about like, it's not about like, oh, who's, you know, it's not about like, oh, women do the shopping and men don't. No, I think it's just like some people are just good at doing the grocery shopping and they know what to get and they know where to buy it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's really good at mother.
SPEAKER_00Lena's husband's like my mom. Like he'll go to like four different stores.
SPEAKER_02I I I don't even do that. Like, I go to one or two places max. No, he buy he buys the stuff and then I cook. I think it's fair. He can't cook to save his life. But I think it's exactly like it's it's fair. Yeah, it's totally fair.
SPEAKER_00No, no, it's good.
SPEAKER_02Um, what else? So, yeah, there's birth flu we gotta worry about apparently now. Um I'm just thinking about so many, yeah. I'm not gonna care.
SPEAKER_00Um and then there's the tuna recall. Did you see that?
SPEAKER_02I don't care about tuna. I don't eat too.
SPEAKER_00But there's a can tuna recall for botulism. Like you might get botulism from tuna. Oh my god. It's crazy.
SPEAKER_02And it's you know, speaking, I'm sorry, speaking about food, like when we move into the movies on the weekend, like I hadn't eaten. It was a month, no, it was on a Monday. So after work, I didn't eat, I just had a banana at work. I'm like, because I'm gonna go and I wanted to get like a sandwich, right? And I realized, I'm like, I can't do this anymore. Like, I don't think I can eat outside anymore. Like, no, I mean my stomach.
SPEAKER_00No, I can eat out. There's just certain things. Again, this goes back to the original point of everything hurts and life after 40. There are things that like I used to be able to eat and do that there's no way that I can do those now. Like what? Like, okay, so you know how you know you can, for example, hit up, I don't know, like you can, well, Lena doesn't go out of her house and out of her house in the dark, but you go out at night and after like a long sahara or something, you're like, oh man, I could really go for like some fried food or something like that. Yeah, I will eat it and then I will it will wreck me, wreck my stomach the next day.
SPEAKER_02Like my son got five five guys. I didn't get five guys because I'm you know what?
SPEAKER_00I can't do five guys again.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but like he ordered the fries and I had like a look literally, probably maybe like nine, ten pieces maximum. Okay. I don't know if it was the fries or it was the sandwich I ate, but the sandwich, I mean, it's clean, it's a clean place. It's just because I cook I cook at home all the time.
SPEAKER_00But I don't like five guys, by the way. I can't I mean I didn't, I mean no, for me specifically, so like you know, Muhammad and the kids get it, but I cannot eat five guys. Yeah, I don't know what it is. I'm traumatized by my guys.
SPEAKER_02My stomach, my stomach, and I'm just like, I didn't eat anything like I just had a banana and like some coffee in the morning. So I'm just like, it's not that I'm overeating, but I'm just like, it just didn't sit, like I don't know, my stomach was doing all sorts of things. I'm like, I'm never doing this again.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, I'm gonna basically what Lena's trying to tell you is that Lena had gas.
SPEAKER_02I kept that shit in there, you know.
SPEAKER_01Why? Because I was at the movie theater. I'm not gonna sit there farting up the place.
unknownWallah.
SPEAKER_02No, if the people are talking, no, that's so gross, dude. No, I would never. I feel like it's only fair if everybody's not wahat admitting. Once I got home, I did what I had to do. Exactly. But like I'm not gonna sit there like farting up a store. Once I made it, yeah, once she made it home, she's like, okay, now I'm comfortable. Now, but by then it was okay. I was okay, but I'm just like, I don't think I should like I have to be careful. Like, I can't be eating.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like I felt it the most when I was traveling for work. Because, like, you know, what are you gonna eat? Like, you're on the go. And I hated my life. I'm like, I'm done. I don't think I can do this. You know what else I can't wait for?
SPEAKER_00I can't wait for winter to be over.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, yes.
SPEAKER_00It has been a really long time since we've gotten so much snow and so much cold in this area, but like this year, I don't know what's happening.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but other people will laugh at us. We we got like two major storms, like, relax. I don't care if you're laughing.
SPEAKER_00You don't live here. You don't see why people drive like here. I know. They just don't know how to drive. I don't know. I am people too. I don't like driving in the snow. Yeah. We're not like conditioned for it. I think that's what it is. I'm conditioned for it. No, you're not. You lived for so long. No, you're not.
SPEAKER_02I drove when I was when I grew up in Ohio. I drove. I was in college.
SPEAKER_00I went to first of all, Lena was like 14 when she got married. And she went to college. I met her. Here we go again. I met her here in college. Your college was my college. So it was here in freaking Virginia.
SPEAKER_02But my freshman year was in Ohio. I transferred her freshman year of high school. Oh my God, you're such a candle.
SPEAKER_01We've moved on beside Haywana. Now you're a candle. Okay. I mean, look, look.
SPEAKER_00I'm joking about trying to be like pretending like, okay, you're conditioned to drive in this. No, you have lived in the DC metro area. It doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_02I don't know how to drive anywhere else. I know how to drive in the snow. She does not know how to drive out. Yes, I do. Yes, I do. She doesn't even do that at night. What are you talking about? If I have to, I do. If she has to. If I have to.
SPEAKER_00It's if it's dark outside, that's it. Um, it's true though. It's true. She, you have no, I need you to admit, you have lived here longer than any other place in your life.
SPEAKER_02That's true.
SPEAKER_00Therefore, you are. But it doesn't mean I'm an idiot when it comes to driving.
SPEAKER_02No, that means you are now of this area and you are part of the idiocy that happened during storms. I'm not I'm not part of the idiocy because I'm not stupid. I know how to drive. That's why she doesn't. We're moving on. Did you see my song? I don't want to move on. You saw the song, right? I don't want to move on. We're moving on. I'm not moving on. We are moving on. I'm not moving on.
SPEAKER_00Until you admit that you're her triangle.
SPEAKER_01See, I can do that in your face. You know what? It's fine. She's not. She's I'm sorry, I love you. You don't have to apologize. You already came. You already came at me. I hate you so much.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god. Okay, now we're ready to move on. Okay, did you see Matt Kamora's new song? No. Well, let me see. Oh my god, no, it's beautiful. I love it.
SPEAKER_00Maybe I haven't. I just, you know, again.
SPEAKER_02Hold on.
SPEAKER_00I was so focused on Lena not going out at night.
SPEAKER_02And oh yes, I did. I did, I did, I did. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. It's so nice. You heard it, right? Yeah. Okay, so what do you think about it? It's nice, right?
SPEAKER_00Remember when I said at the beginning of the episode that I would love to live in like precedented times? Yeah, I know. This this is a perfect example of how unprecedented times we are in. But that leads me to something super important, right? Which is. Which is the donation info in the um description. In the description box.
SPEAKER_02Always check out. We always put links.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's nice.
SPEAKER_02If you're up for it. Any amount is good. Exactly. Yes, whatever you can do. Now, before we finish this episode, uh, I saw a video on TikTok yesterday and it was asking a question.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02So I'm gonna I saved it. I'm gonna bring it up. Sorry, okay, not you lady. Um second. So I'm gonna read you the thing. Okay. Okay, hold on. There's nothing for the music.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02So I want you to close your eyes. Okay. All right. I'm ready. You wake up. Do I open my eyes because I woke up? Okay. You wake up. It's the summer of 1994. The last 31 years have all been a dream. The sun streams through your window as you wake up. What's the first thing you do? You can wait, you can open your eyes now. Oh my god, 1994. Yeah. Can you believe it was 31 years ago?
SPEAKER_00Guys, I was in high school.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Me too, I think. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. Yeah, I was a freshman in high school.
SPEAKER_02So what would you do? What's the first thing you would do?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Let me show you. I don't even know. Like, okay, so at that point, I think a freshman in high school. So I don't know. I think I'd like. Do you want me to tell you what some of people left comments? Actually, you know what I would do? I would like probably put on my clothes and I would probably go to the playground in my parents' neighborhood and get on the swings.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Okay, let me show you some of these comments. They're hilarious. Uh, this one lady said, call up NBC programming execs and tell them to make the apprentice with Mark Cuban instead. Someone was like, write down Harry Potter from memory and pretend that I wrote it before JK Rowland can. So funny. Uh, and then a lot of people were saying, Go and hug my dad, or my parents if they've passed away, you know.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's really sweet. I'm telling you, my parents still live in the same house that I was living in when I went to high school. Literally, they have a playground. Um, you know, sometimes when that my kids were younger, they would go play there. But I they they or there's like the best set of swings there. I'd probably just get dressed and go to the playground and swing on the swings.
SPEAKER_02Uh this lady said, Cry from unspeakable, unspeakable relief. I think all of us would probably seriously. Yeah. Um, a lot of people would be like, a lot of them were saying buy a house with my lunch money.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's so true. It's not it is impossible now, guys. It is impossible. I don't know what people are supposed to say. I know.
SPEAKER_02This lady said go to Blockbuster, it's Friday, uh, and the new releases just came out. I know. My dad used to take us. Yeah, I know, dude. Yeah. A lot of these oh, someone said invest in Amazon, Google, and make myself go to college. Oh. Yeah. But it's uh it's a lot of people were talking about like um hugging family members no longer with them, you know. But it's can you imagine?
SPEAKER_00I get oh my god, can you guys put that in the can you guys put in the comments if you're somebody who was like alive in 1994, like if you weren't born after, um, but if you're somebody who is like, you know, you remembered have or have memories of things you were doing in 94, if that was you, like what would you do?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, someone was like, I was too, I probably was poop my pants.
unknownThat's amazing.
SPEAKER_02But I thought that was like it takes you back.
SPEAKER_00It does, and honestly, when you say like close your eyes, I'm like, oh my god, what would I do? Can you imagine? You know, I think about that a lot. Like, yeah, like if I could just, you know, like share, if I could turn back time, right? All the things that I would do differently. Um, I don't know about differently as much as I would, I don't know. Maybe apply myself more in some areas, apply myself less in other areas.
SPEAKER_02Um I think I I think just not wanting to grow up as fast as we did. It's like, dude, enjoy it, you know. Thanks for depressing me, dude. Yeah, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00And with that, thank you so much for joining us for this episode. We'll see you guys next week.
SPEAKER_02Inshallah.
