These and other scriptures reveal the mind of God regarding how humanity relates to animals. While God doesn't want us to revere animals, He does not want us to be cruel to them either. So, why does God care about the way Humanity relates to wildlife and specifically, why does God object to cruelty to animals as stewards of His Creation?
