Right when you think you know your kids, you discover something new. During episode 27, Getting To Know You, this is exactly what happened while interviewing my kids. Most of the answers my husband and I expected but we both uncovered things we did not know.
We have dinner as a family, spend time 1 on 1 and as a family, but without asking real questions beyond “How was your day? , there might be vital information that you are missing.
As we continue to know our kids, we are going to miss something, we are going to make mistakes and that is okay. The goal is to learn and not to be perfect.
As parents, we need to be available and willing to answer their questions to show we are here as a safe and non-judgement place.
