SPEAKER_03If you can't see the signs, now something wrong with your spirit. You can see the signs all around. It's a fulfilling the word of God is being fulfilled daily, daily, daily. Times that we need the word of God like never before. The Bible said it's going to be a famine for the word of God. See, a lot of people think it'll be for food. No. He said it's going to be a famine for the word of God. That's what I'm talking about. See, right now it might be some people don't have food to eat. But the word of God lets you know it's going to be a famine. That means it's going to be people coming running for the word. And you got to have the word so you can give it to somebody. You got to have a testimony so you can let them know Jesus will do what he said to do. He has already accomplished for you what he did on that cross. See, we got to have a testimony. We got to drop everything. Forget about it. It ain't about us. But it's all about him. That's right, it's all about him. See, sometimes we get stuck with ourselves. Oh, me, myself, and I. It's not about you, myself and I. It's about Jesus Christ and Him crucified. You are here because of Him. Not because we are so good, but because God is good. That's why we're here. So we might as well just get loose and praise from here, learn how to pray over here. So when we get there, we have no idea to praise Him. So we're all going to be together when we get there. Ain't gonna be no separation. You over there, you over there, you over there, you over there. We're gonna be together on one accord. Now the message I'm gonna talk about today is gonna be something to help you if you listen very closely. The top of my lesson today would be belief. Belief. B-E-L-I-E-V. Belief. That would be the topic. Let's look at Saint John, the 11th chapter of Saint John. Lazarus. Anybody know about Lazarus? Jesus' friend Lazar.
SPEAKER_04John 11 and 1. Now a certain man was sick named Lazarus, was not the same Lazarus of Luke chapter 16, who had died some time before now, of Bethany, a small village about two miles from Jerusalem, situated on the eastern slope of the Mount of Olives, the town of Mary and her sister Martha, the sisters of Lazarus. It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair. The um the anointing took place very shortly before the crucifixion and after the event of Lazarus being raised from the dead, whose brother Lazarus was sick. Therefore his sister sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom you love is sick, refers to more than a mere malady malady, but a life-threatening affliction, which in fact did take his life, at least at the time. The Greek text actually says, He shall not fall prey to death, which is the way it was it should have been translated. But four. Continue verse four. But for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. This tells us that even though the Lord does not receive glory from sin or sickness, he definitely does receive glory in delivering men from sin and from healing the sick. Verse 5. Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus, the result of a long acquaintance, or six, when he had heard therefore that he, Lazarus, was sick, seems to indicate that a messenger was sent before Lazarus died, with Lazarus dying shortly after he had left. But the messenger did not know this when he approached Christ. He abode two days still in the same place where he was. He did so on the instructions from the Holy Spirit. In fact, the Spirit told him that Lazarus had died.
SPEAKER_00Okay, hold it right there. Y'all see that? Jesus loved Lazarus so much.
SPEAKER_03Lazarus was his friend. But Jesus, even though Lazarus was his friend, Jesus never did anything unless God told him what to do. His father told him what to do. Two days. He knew about it. Holy Spirit showed it to him. He knew it. He just got finished reading. But he didn't run and say, Oh, let me go. Let me go. Let me go to Lazarus. Let me show you something what God's trying to get out of every one of us. This is not just for Lazarus. Not for Mary and Martha. It's for else. The body of Christ. Hold on to this page. Let's go to uh Luke 7.36. Hold on to this. I'm coming back.
SPEAKER_00Alright, 36 verse.
SPEAKER_04Luke 7, 36. And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. Constitutes the enemy of the wisdom mentioned in 35. This indicates a particular peculiar. And he went unto the Pharisees' house and sat down to meet First 37, and behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus had set out to meet in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment. And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. Verse 39. Now when the Pharisee which had bitten him saw it, he spoke with himself within himself not aloud, saying this man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is who touches him, for she is a sinner. Verse 40. And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I know somewhat to say unto you. And he said, Master say on 41. There was a certain creditor which had waited.
SPEAKER_00Hold it, hold it right there.
SPEAKER_03Now, this the they have called her a sinner. Here, this woman, a sign of accepting Jesus, weeping. Those other ones been there all the time, they didn't do nothing for Jesus. They've been there all the time. All the things they want to do is grumble and complain. That's what people do. They was grumbling and complaining, but this woman, Mary, she took her hair, her glory, washed his feet, and dried with her hair. And the Pharisees just speaking, they didn't say it out loud. But see, one thing, people don't understand that the Holy Ghost knows what you're thinking. One thing about the Holy Ghost, he knows. He showed Jesus exactly what they were saying. He didn't say it out loud. So she did that. Now I want you to understand that. This woman, I believe, really loved God. Alright, hold that. Let's go to Luke 10.
SPEAKER_04Luke 10, 37. And he said, He who showed mercy on him, then said Jesus unto him, Go and do thou likewise. Verse 38. Now it came to pass as they went that he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet and heard his word. Verse 40. But Martha was cumbered about saying much serving, and came to him and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore that she help me. Verse 41. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, are you careful and troubled about many things? You are careful and troubled about many things. 42. But one thing is needful, and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
SPEAKER_03Now you see that? Y'all see that? Here, Jesus was at the heart.
SPEAKER_02Mary Martha.
SPEAKER_03Mary was set down at Jesus' feet. She wanted the word of God. She wanted what he had. Both of them did good deeds. But Martha, Jesus said, you're concerned, you're troubled by many things. You weren't too much. You're troubled up by this. You're troubled about that. Mary had picked the best part. She sat at his feet because she wanted to grow. She wanted the word. Only thing gonna help us to grow is the word of God. Spending time building up the relationship. But Martha, it's nothing wrong with doing. Sometimes we can get so busy doing things for God that we don't get the time to build up that relationship with God. God is more concerned about our relationship with Him. Yes, Mary and Martha both did a good job. But Martha, because when we we do a good job doing the work. Well, I'm gonna do this. Mercer in the kitchen cooking, feeding everybody, doing everything, all the stuff, washing dishes, everything. Mother, but Jesus, can't can't you have Mary come and help me? Jesus said, Murray is doing the best part. Didn't it just say so? And Jesus answered said unto her, 41 verse, Martha, Martha, you are careful in trouble about many things. Because you're not getting the word. You're too caught up with the natural things. That's what he's really saying. You are too caught up with the natural thing. Mirror is getting the eating, sitting at Jesus' feet. Just like the other one, other mirror. That same mirror that washed Jesus' feet. She was in love with Jesus. She loved him. She took her glory, washed his feet, and wipe and all them disciples and stuff there. And he getting upset. He said, Y'all been with me all the time. Y'all ain't prepared me for my borough. Two of Martha boys and natural things. But Jesus was getting ready to go to the cross. And honestly, he's saying that about who's gonna be the greatest? Who's gonna be the greatest? Now here, Murray and Martha, too, too. I'm showing you this because I'm I'm going someplace now. Here, Murray and Martha. Martha's doing a good job. She's doing all that, but not realize the enemy is gonna come sooner or later. And you ain't got no word. My God, my God, you can't stand. You can't stand. I don't care how many years you've been saved. When you don't have no word on the inside of you, everything else is more important than the word of God. But mercy is his feet, and she wants to be fed. Feed me, Jesus, feed me, Jesus. Feed me till I want no more. Feed me, Jesus, feed me, Jesus. But Martha, she's in that pots and panes rattling in the kitchen, feeding everybody. When the enemy comes, come sooner or later, because he's watching, ain't got no word. Instead of her, maybe cook before Jesus got there, and they both sit at Jesus' feet. Get the word. When you come to this place, God said, When you come in this house, get the word. Don't let nothing deter you from the word. I don't care what happened. Don't let nothing better you. God's people is getting too busy with everything else. And they don't know who Jesus is, some of them. They're in God's height and still don't know who Jesus is. The word coming forth didn't pay no mind to it. You got to eat the word when it comes forth. You got to allow the word to take root in your heart. If that word, David said that I hate it in my heart, then I may not sin against God. If I don't hide it in my heart, the enemy is gonna fool you somewhere, trip you up somewhere. That's what I'm talking about. Now I want you to see all this because I'm going someplace with this. Mary loved Jesus so much. She was willing to do her all, give her best. Weeping, weeping a sign of a sign of surrender, a sign of Jesus. I love you. Worship him. He's getting ready to leave, and I'm gonna fix his bureau. I give my best to him. I give my best, cologne. That in this situation that was cologne, but I give my best. My best to him, my worship.
SPEAKER_01I give him the best. I don't just worship when I want something, but I give my best.
SPEAKER_03That's what he's talking about. That's what he wants. He wants our best. Not when everything's going on around you, then you cry to God. You sit there like a zombie and and don't praise God. And then as soon as something happened, you want everybody to praise God with you? Bless God. So let me tell you, let's let's move on here. Because God is showing me something here. And I sat there, I said, Lord, what is this? What's wrong with your people now? They act like they're those people over there in uh uh Jamaica, uh Africa, and all them people, them people getting killed, getting murdered for their religion. They are getting killed. He don't want you to have the mic in your hand and give them praise. My god, where are we gonna learn how to praise God? We got to learn to praise him at home so when we come here and we are together worshiping the Father, singing psalms and praises and praying and living holy and righteous for God. That's what God's calling for. Now it is my turn now to I gotta do this and I gotta do that. No, you stop at home in your secret climate, heal with the spirit of commodity saying unto you. Heal with the spiritual in. Get to know his vomitus. That's what I'm talking about. You'll have to not worry about it. Come on till we live in it right now. All this stuff gone up, people grumbling and complaining. That's all you hear. Grumbling, complaining, and still, God said it's gonna be a famine in the land. For the word God, it's gonna be a famine. People are gonna be humbling, not for food, peace, and ice cream cake, and cookies, but it's gonna be a famine. For the word of God, people are gonna want the word, they're gonna come looking for the word, they're gonna come looking for somebody that will not come up by mind, but we're telling them the truth so they can come out of their mess. That's what I'm talking about. Not enough to just go to a building, but you got to let go of something, you gotta drop off something, you gotta give up something. Oh my god, my God. What's wrong with God's people? Seems like some of them going backwards instead forward. Mary, Martha, you're troubled, Martha, by a lot of sin. But the enemy is gonna hit your heart. The enemy's gonna come after you. Why is he coming? Because he knows you ain't got no words. You might know the word when you read it, but you ain't got it in the heart. Hide the word in your heart, God said, that you may not sin against. Unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred, all these things won't stay in your heart that you got the word. But overcoming evil with good. But if you got bitterness in our heart, I ain't gonna do this for us. You're not pleasing man, you're pleasing God. You worship. That's what I'm talking about. We are two must in self. Self must be crucified. Nail to the cross. That's what Jesus went to the cross for. That self can be crucified. Nail. Then he tells us, now I did all that for you. Now I want you to deny yourself. Take off the cross and follow me. Follow my word. That's what he's talking about. Deny yourself. People don't want to deny themselves. Do you want to live any kind of way they want to live and still, hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Uh-uh. You're gonna have to give up something. Let go of something. God is calling you to another level. You're gonna have let go. Jesus didn't rush. Last was his friend, but he didn't rush. He obeyed God. We got to learn how to obey God and stop letting obeying man. We obey man too much. My buddy, my friend, that the my clicks, click, click, click, click, click in the church. Should not be. Y'all got that? Martha was coming. Martha was coming up by my servant and came to him and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister had left me to serve? She cried, my sister left me. She got all the work on me. She should be sitting at Jesus' feet too. My sister left me. I tell people all the time, say, you know what? Food is what caused sin in the beginning. Man, disobey God because he put them in the garden and told you to eat up every tree, but leave that one alone. Don't touch. He said, Don't touch it. He just said, Don't touch it. He told him to leave it alone. Eat it all the rest. You got everything you need for food. That's what Carl said in the beginning. And it's still called some people rather eat than to go to church. Rather eat. Food, food, food. Oh, where are we gonna where are we gonna go eat? The enemy will make you leave God for food. What call gave a pot of bean? Oh, gave up his birthright for a pot of bean. Soup. Food. Call sin. Why don't you give it up? And release it. Why don't you give it up for your birthright? Pot of bean. A little bit of soup. Then later on, he was sorry, he gave it up. It's birthright. All these things. All those things in there talks about the food. We gotta be careful, y'all. That we don't let things get in the salvation. Now we go back to the 11th chapter. Y'all see that mirror and mother. Two different personalities. One loved the Lord, and one just I ain't saying the other one didn't love the Lord now, but it wouldn't spend the time with God. That's what I'm talking about. We if you're gonna get to know Jesus, you got to spend some time. If you want to get to know somebody, you got to spend time with them. Build up the relationship. You don't build up no relationship. You can tell me people build up the relationship because the love continues to flow. Just one of the fruit of the spirit. When they don't build up the relationship, they get angry and a drop of hat. Fight. You feel find centers like that, cars pass by the tooth horn there, they stick their finger up at them. Say people ain't supposed to do that. Let them go ahead if they want to go in front of you. Don't try to overtake them or run on top of them. All right, now we're gonna go a little bit fuller here. Ma's concerned to be a prophet. She wanted to be, she did a good job, prophet, proper, hosted. She was a good host. Served. But it wasn't the right time. Jesus was teaching the word. The time when the word is gone forward, you should be listening to the word. A lot of people not pay no attention when the word goes forward. When the test comes, it can't go through. They can't go through. Go home. Video games, everything else. But Jesus. Everything else but Jesus. Oh, hallelujah. Lord help us this day. Two days in the place where He was. Verse 6. Let's go back to the 11th chapter. You know what I tell y'all all the time, the word is gonna hit you. If you are in here, this word is gonna hit you because this word comes to clean us up. That's what the word comes for. If the word didn't come to clean us up, we wouldn't need no word. We already clean. You'll clean through the word. That's what the Bible says. That's how we clean up our minds, our hearts. People like it when you pat them on the back, say, You're doing a good job. Praise you up. I don't want man to praise me up. Like I told you all Friday night, my help comes from the Lord. Galatians 1, when I told you, I want to please God. I'm not here trying to please no man. I'm here to please God. If my ways please, God, then the ones that really want to go forth in God, they're gonna continue to go forth in God. But in my way trying to please man, man changed from day to day. You can't please man, you gotta please God. So that's what happened. Let's let's go back. Go back to the 11th chapter. Oh Lord, I thank you. God began to show me that. I said, Whoa, this is what is going on? And then he got nervous grumbling and complaining about no food stamps and ain't getting no food, ain't getting this, ain't getting that. How often are you praising and worshiping God? Yes, it's gonna be many afflictions of the righteous. But God promised, I will deliver you out of them all. I will. Ain't no maybe, but I will. Either we're gonna believe God or we're not. Either we're gonna believe God or we're gonna believe the enemy. Which one you gonna believe? If you have a choice, I rather believe God. If I had to go every day and say, it don't come today, I'll come tomorrow. I'd rather believe God. Because people are gonna hate you. Jesus said they hate me without a cause because he told them the truth. People are gonna hate you. When you want really one friend so bad, you'll butter up and take a lot of stuff. And you know people ain't telling the truth, and you won't say a word. You stand right there and know, you listen to all that, and you if you don't say it now, you agreeing right along with them. You agreeing with the person. That's why when I hear him talking like that, and he's talking to me, I don't say that to agree. I'm not gonna agree along with them. If it's something outside of the word, if they're saying something that I know what God's word says about it, I'm not gonna agree with them. I'm telling the truth. God called you for such a time as this. You say you saved? Saved from what? What are you saved from? Tell people the truth. God knows He put the word in you to give it out. He didn't give you the word, get fat off it. You can read us, you can read from Genesis to Revelation and get fat off it and ain't giving out none of it because you want friends. You rather have friends. Jesus didn't run back to Lazarus. Two days. He knew Lazarus was dead. He didn't bust out, oh crying candle. Oh my brother dead. He obeyed God, y'all. He listened to the Holy Spirit when to move. We got to obey God. Listen when to move and when not move. That's what he did. Moss, I written down, Martha, good works can destroy good works, Mars and Mirror. Good works can destroy from wholehearted devotion to God. Good works. You're doing a lot of good work for God. Cleaning, uh painting, fixing witness, do this and that. It's good. You fix the church up. Good works. But you're not spending quality time with God. Because why? When he comes back, he's coming back for a prepared, he's not coming back for a prepared building. He's coming back for a prepared church, y'all. That's what he's coming back for, a prepared church. People who live it holy, people who live in righteous. No, we haven't made it in yet. But we moving towards that place where we get that glorified body. We all gonna make mistakes sometimes, but get it right. Don't let bitterness get in your heart. Don't let unforgiveness get in your heart. Don't let these things get in your heart. Overcome evil with good. Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips. I may speak those things be edifying to the hero. Let my words be with grace, seed with salt. That I may answer every remain according to the hope that's in me. You got a hope. Your hope is in Christ Jesus. Now we're gonna go back to the 11th chapter. Let's see what let's get this thing together here. Alright, where we stopped at uh We stopped at 6, 6 verse, 7 verse. Alright, let's go to the seventh. Break up a little bit more. See, we done when I look at this. And she said and wiped his feet with her hair. Therefore, his sister sent unto him, said, Lord, see these are the behold, he whom you love. He didn't say just Lazarus, he whom you love. He put that in there. You love him so much. But guess what? It didn't make any difference. He wasn't gonna move until God tell him. Okay, who is it? I don't care if it is somebody you love. You don't move until God said, Move. That's why Mary said, Who you love? She could have said Lazarus did, but she said, Whom you love. A lot of times it's gonna be people whom you love is gonna be telling you to do this or do that, uh, or you want to hang out with them and stuff like that. God says, Okay, I know you love them. But present me to them, and stop you letting their flesh rise up. I want my I want them to be my buddy, my friend. I'm lonely. All right, let's go to the seventh verse. Then said he.
SPEAKER_04Then said, then after that John 11 and 7. Then after that said he to his disciples, let us go into Judea again. Reynolds said, The use of the word again points forcibly back to the last visit when he told both friends and foes that the good shepherd would snatch his sheep from the jaws of death, even though he laid down his life, his own life in the doing of it. Verse 8. His disciples said unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone you, and you are going there again. How different this language is.
SPEAKER_00Let me see where we are there. Hold on a minute.
SPEAKER_03114 11 4. You read 114. Okay, you read it there. Okay, let's go over to 11. I mean 1140. On the next page, I believe.
SPEAKER_00Oh, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. I think I'm moving too fast.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Okay, go ahead and finish reading what you're reading. Okay. Nine verse.
SPEAKER_04Verse 9. Jesus answered, Are there night twelve are there not twelve hours in a day? Our Lord is using this terminology as an analogy. If if any man walk in the day, he stumbles not, because he sees the light of this world, refers to the sun shining according to the rotation of the earth. Verse 10. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbles, using a natural expression to express a spiritual truth, because there is no light in him, destroys the doctrine of the inner light, as claimed by man in natural birth. In truth, man within himself has no spiritual light. Verse 11. These things said he. And after that he said unto him them, our friend Lazarus sleeps. Jesus is not teaching soul sleep here at death. It is only the body of the believer that sleeps, not the soul and the spirit, which immediately which immediately go to be with Christ. Actually, the soul and spirit of Lazarus went down to paradise at this time because Jesus had not yet been glorified. But I go that I may awake him out of his sleep. Refers to the fact that the Holy Spirit had told Jesus to rise this man from the dead.
SPEAKER_00To raise this man. To raise this man.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Verse 12. See what he said there. Look what he said. But I go that I may awake him out of sleep. Refer to the fact that the Holy Spirit had told him. See, that's why you gotta obey the Holy Spirit when he tells you to do something. The Holy Spirit told Jesus to raise this man from the dead. Raise Lazarus from the dead. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_04Verse 12. Then said his disciples, Lord, if ye sleep, he shall do well. They did not know what Jesus was actually saying. Verse 13. How be it Jesus spoke of his death? This reclaims the fact that John, who wrote this account, does not hide the fact of the spiritual dullness of the disciples, but they thought that he had spoken of taking of arrest.
SPEAKER_02Oh, he got scared. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_04Then Jesus said unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
SPEAKER_02Go ahead.
SPEAKER_04Verse 15. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, portrays the fact that if Jesus had been there, Lazarus would have not died, Jesus would have healed him, to the intent you may believe. Has reference to the fact that the Holy Spirit instructed Jesus to perform the miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead for a variety of reasons, among them to teach the disciples the fact of the coming resurrection. Nevertheless, let us go unto him.
SPEAKER_03Now let me let me stop right there for a few minutes. Now you see what happened here. For your sake, Jesus. I am glad for your sake that I was not there. Why? Because he wouldn't have died if Jesus was there. Same thing I believe God is saying to each and every one of us. We must go through our tests. Without grumbling and complaining. He allowed us to go through. Just allowed last week to go through. Two days. He heard about it, but he still didn't come. Because if he had come right there, the first thing the people probably said, Oh, he really wasn't dead, sure enough. But he made show up, he was dead and stinking. Four days in the grave. Make sure he was dead. Dead, dead. And I believe a lot of times when we go through an as sickness of whatever we going through, a lot of times God don't show up right then. Why showing up? Lord, do you see what I'm going through? He had a second time to show up through the Holy Spirit. Had to come out of the way. He has a second time because he brings us like too soon. We spend we bring a separate some of us. But this is what I did. But when he brings you and I, you are understanding couldn't have done it by Jesus. But nobody could have kept you living by Jesus. You are hanging up in a testimony. This is what it's all about. Hang up in the testimony that you can tell somebody else who's going through what you went through. If he did it, God had no respect to person. If he did it for you, he'd do it for you, me. So he took his time. He sleep. Then he really turned around and said, He's dead. That made a big difference sleeping dead, y'all. The disciple prophet, ooh, dead. These prophets were probably got in that mindset. Oh my God, it's too late. Ain't no use going there now. These prophets think it like that. The natural mind, that's how the natural mind thinks. So that's what he told me. And that's why I believe right today, when God heals, when God delivers you from something, you know nobody else could have done it but God. You have a testimony. You can tell somebody, He did it for me, He does it for you. But you got to, if thou can it believe, all things are possible to them that believe. But you got to, you can't just grumble and complain and get mad with God because He don't open that door right away for you. He knows way down the road, fuller than you and I know about ourselves. He knows from the beginning to the end. What are we gonna do? If we let he loose up some of us right now, we go back to the world. We go right back. But he knows he loves us enough. That's the kind of love I'm talking about. He loves us enough to hold us in that, even though he loves us, he sees you suffering, he sees you going through, but he said, it's all for your good. The Bible said it pleased the Father to bruise Jesus. Because he saw everybody that's gonna be saved. His only son. It pleased him to bruise him. How many times people say, No, you don't touch my daughter, don't touch my son. It pleased God to bruise him. See, when you really understand who you are, because Jesus understood his purpose. When we understand our purpose in this life, we stop grumbling and complaining about everything. We grumble too much. Instead of praising God. We give him all praise to the enemy. When you groan and complain, you're giving praise to the enemy. Like as though it's a frustrate the grace of God, God can't do it. I don't know. I think I hope. Get in the work. What you looking right at it? I'm a God that heals thee. Many of the afflicts that are right here. I already told you you're gonna have affliction, but I will deliver you out of them all. He told you you're gonna get delivered. You're gonna hurt for a while, but you're gonna get delivered out of them all. So we got to get into this word. Most people don't know that both us. When you understand who you are in Christ, you have been delivered. You're not that old man you used to be, old woman you used to be. You have been delivered from the powers of darkness. You have been translated to the kingdom of light. You are in another kingdom now, different rules. But we still try to go by the same old rules before we got saved. You can't go by the old rules. You gotta go by the new rules. How much better can I bring it down to you that you will understand it? I can't open your mind up, open your heart up, put it in there. You got to open up your spirit so you can hear what I'm saying to you. If you don't, you're gonna keep doing the same thing you're doing, not trusting God. But when you open your spirit up and say, Lord, I receive what you have for me. The purpose why you come here to receive what God has for you. When you walk through that door, Lord, what do you have for me today? You come here to hear what God's saying so you can go out and help somebody else. That's what it's all about. But all I'm saying, me must bless me and my family. I mean, you ain't praying for nobody's family, just you and your family. They gotta go through, just like you had to go through. They have to go through too. How are they gonna make it in if they don't go through because they're gone back to the world? If they don't praise God, they're gonna either praise one of the two. They're gonna either serve God or serve the enemy. It's only two you can serve. You can't have two masters. You're gonna make one of them your master. Which one are you gonna listen to? Are you gonna listen to the enemy, lying, lying spirits of the enemy? He already told you the devil is a fall of liars. Who you gonna let? Why would you listen to a liar? But you can listen to the truth. My word is truth. I send my word. God said, I send my word to heal you, Kelly. He sent his word to heal you. He the one that brought you right. And when you when you realize that somebody's gonna come to you, how did you come out of this? Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Jesus in the morning, Jesus in the evening, Jesus all night long. Because of his love for me, you do it for you too. You get in his word and praise him, worship him. He had no respect of person. God had no respect. So here he is groaning and complaining. I'm glad, he said, I'm glad for your sake, 15 verse, that I was not there. Because if he was there, he got healed. Then said Thomas, look at Thomas. Come on, let's 16 verse.
SPEAKER_04Verse 16, then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellow disciples, let us also go that we may die with him.
SPEAKER_03Lord have mercy. We want to die with him. We love him so much, we want to die with him. And still believing by faith that God is gonna raise him up. He's gonna die. Oh, I'm gonna get in the coffin with them. Oh, the bishop says sometimes people cry, I'm gonna get in the coffin, I'm gonna get in the coffin with them. Looking at the dead. I'm gonna die with them. Jesus already told what he's gonna do. Look what he said, what look what he said. Uh 12th verse. He said, No, that's the 11th verse. He said, But I go that I may awake him out of sleep. He already let him know what he's gonna do. But these disciples walk around with them and still couldn't understand. Still couldn't understand. That's why Jesus said, When I leave here, I'm gonna send you the Holy Spirit. He's gonna lead you, guide you, and direct you. Because you don't understand what I'm talking about. You talking about you're gonna go and die with him. You're gonna die with him. I'm getting ready to raise him up. What are you talking about? You're gonna die with him. He asleep. Then he comes right back and said, He's dead. Well, let us go die with him. We love him enough, we want to die with him. He did. I want to die, I die too. We gotta see ourselves in this in this lesson. All right, let's go a little further.
SPEAKER_04Verse 17. Then Jesus, then when Jesus came, he found that he, Lazarus, had lain in the grave four days already.
SPEAKER_01Four days already. Dead, dead. Dead, dead, dead. No life. Whatever.
SPEAKER_04Verse 18. Now Bethany was near unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off. Verse 19. And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary to comfort them concerning their brother. Verse 20. Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him. But Mary sat still in the house. Verse 21. Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if you had been here, my brother had not died.
SPEAKER_03Do you all see that? Lord, pots and pain cooking. You've been here. My brother would not die. He already told Martha, you're troubled by many things. You word too much. You trouble because you don't have no words. Words said, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, let your request be made known to me. But you're troubled. So Mary, here Martha said, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, then said Martha, the 21st verse, Lord, if you had been here, as though all the miracles that Jesus have already made uh worked at, blind eyes open, different bodies being healed. But now they've been around Jesus all this time, and you tell me they still don't know who Jesus is. People have been in the church building all their life. Then from a little child on up and still don't know who Jesus is. What is she saying here? Then said Martha unto Jesus, if you had been here, my brother had not died. But then she goes on. But I 22nd verse.
SPEAKER_04But I know that even now, whatsoever you will ask of God, God will give it to you.
SPEAKER_00Go ahead, Jesus.
SPEAKER_0423. Jesus said unto her, Your brother shall rise again.
SPEAKER_03Now that's that could have given her hope. He's gonna rise again. He's not gonna he's coming, he's gonna come alive. That's why I'm going there. That I may wake him out of his sleep. That's why, that's why that person in the hospital with the doctor done said it ain't gonna make it. God said, I got the last say.
SPEAKER_01I got the last say.
SPEAKER_03Not the doctors. They don't know. He's been last been dead four days. Dead dead. But Jesus, resurrection power, will bring him back. Come on. Wait a second. But I know that even now, whatsoever you ask of God, that's what she's saying. What she really said is, but I know you gotta ask of God. If you ask of God, I know God will probably give you your answer, whatever it is. So she's saying that. The terminology used by Mars to show it was still unclear to her exactly who Jesus was. She still didn't really know who Jesus was. He had Jesus eating with them, going to the house, eating with them and everything, having dinner with them and all the laughing and merry. And they still don't know who Jesus is. It's a shame. Yes, people that's in buildings now, they really don't know who Jesus is. How do you know they don't know who Jesus is? Because you see how they how you see the fruit of the spirit, what's going on? You see how they act and and and and times when rough times come, do they get, oh my god, they just go off and get, you know, they just can't can't focus. Don't give them a bad report, they can't focus. Instead of realize that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. You will either be here or you're gonna be there. You gotta hope. Your hope is in Christ Jesus. You're gonna be one place or the other. It ain't gonna be that you you're gonna be in hell if you're living right. So we have a hope. You gotta believe, we gotta believe God in good times, bad times. Anybody can believe God when they get a good report. But what about when you get a bad report? Now, here's a bad report for them. Their brother's dead, and he's saying that four days. Oh no, I know he uh unbelief. Well, let's see what Jesus said to her. Wait, wait, 21.
SPEAKER_04Verse 24. Martha said unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Verse 25. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life.
SPEAKER_03They didn't know who Jesus was. I am the resurrection. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_04And he who believes in me, though we were he were dead, yet shall he live. Verse 26. And whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this? Verse twenty-seven. She said unto him, Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, which shall come into the world. Verse twenty-eight. And when he had so said, she went her way and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The master is come and calls for you. Verse 29. As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly and came unto him. Verse 30. Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him. The Jews then which were with her in the house and comforted her when they saw Mary that they rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goes into the grave to weep there. 32. Then Mary was come where Jesus was and saw him. She fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if you had been here, my brother had not died. Listen there.
SPEAKER_03Now y'all see this. Mary and Martha. All this time. Jesus had been visiting that house. And he don't still don't know who Jesus is. If you've been here. Now Mary sat at his feet. And supposed to be eating the word. The same Mary that getting him ready for his burial. That's the same Mary. But they don't know who Jesus is. It's a shh, it's so sad. People sit in churches and don't know who Jesus is. That's why they do what they do because they don't know who Jesus is. Now she's saying the same thing her sister Martha said. It takes the word of God and put it in your heart. That when you have to speak out of the abundance of the heart, the might speak, instead of her saying something different. She's saying the same thing her sister said. So let me kneel the one of them had the word in there. You should have lived in that declaring the words of the Lord. Didn't have no word in them that Jesus is gonna raise the last one. These honesty, these looking at it, it's the natural. He's been dead for days. That's all we gotta get our eyes off the nature and get our eyes on what the word says. That eyes was on, oh my God. Does Jesus know he's been dead four days? Do he know he gotta be dead by now? And then them other ones probably looking and said, We're gonna see what's gonna happen. Them nosy ones. Because always gonna be some nosy ones around. You know, they don't believe Jesus no way, so they're gonna be a nose around. So look what Jesus look what Jesus told her. When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, 13 verse, 33 verse.
SPEAKER_04Continue. When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, the Jews also weeping, which came with her, he groaned in the spirit and was troubled, 34, and said, Where have you laid him? And they said unto him, Lord, come and see. 35. Jesus wept. 36. Then said the Jews, Behold, how he loved him. 37. And some of them said, Could not this man which opened the eyes of the blind have caused that even this man should not have died? 38. Jesus therefore again, groaning in himself, comes to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. Verse 39, Jesus said, Take you away the stone. Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said unto him, Lord, by this time he sinks, for he has been dead four days. Verse 40. Jesus said unto her, Said I not unto you that if you would believe, you should see the glory of God. Verse 41. Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42. And I knew that you would you hear me always. Continue. But because of the people which stand by, I said it that they might believe that you have sent me. That's why I did I said the topic is belief.
SPEAKER_03Believe. I don't care what you're going through. If you don't believe, you can't receive because uh anything that's not of faith is sin. If it's not of faith, it's sin. How can it believe? The glory of God is revealed to us that believe by faith. Unlock our understanding of scriptures and release the spirit of God towards us. I've written that down. Faith operated in obedient. Disobedient, faith don't operate. Obedient, faith operating. Faith approach God boldly to receive the things we want from God. We come boldly, the Bible said, let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace. Then we may attain mercy and find grace to have in time of need. So we come to God boldly. Jesus took all that time. Why did they do it? He did it because Jesus let the people know his order came exclusively from his father. Neither the needs of his closest friend nor the fear of his enemy determined his action. He always obeyed the Father. Obedium. That's what faith is, but obedient. And when you obey, you can receive the things that God had for you. Now, what's going on right now, all the stuff that's going on all around us right here and all that. Honestly, I just tell God that Lord, your prayer will be done. Because I don't know which way which way God wants to do. I don't want to pray against it. Because He says, My people is to call by my name, humble themselves and pray. A lot of people's not praying, they're just humbling, they're just talking, humble themselves and praying, turn from their wicked ways. People don't, a lot of people don't want Jesus. They don't want what he got. Honestly, they want Jesus to do open doors up for me. Give me, give me, give me, give me, give me. Get everything they got. And after he gets all this stuff, then they turn up, they leave God. New car, new boat, new heights, new this, new that. They're gone. God don't mind us having things, but He don't want things to have us. He wants us to prosper. Bob said, prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers. He wants our soul to prosper. If your soul not prospering, you ain't gonna know what to do with all that stuff you got. That stuff on this there'll be idols in your life. You'll worship that when you worship every time I think about, I think about uh Aaron, Moses, Moses went up to get the Ten Commandments. He left Aaron down there with the people. Aaron's supposed to be, I don't know if he's scared of the people or what. He came back, then made a golden calf. Worship. Man got worship in him. If he don't worship God, he's gonna worship something. That's worship is God built worship in me. With the golden calf. Take your earrings off, take this off. And all that stuff, making a golden calf. Moses had to pray them through, intercede for. Boy, I'm telling you, this is this flesh is something. That's why it's so important. Anybody, y'all understand now? Even though you can be going to a building, but the thing is, where is Christ? Is he in your heart? What do you say, Jenny? Where you gotta be? In your heart. That word gotta be where? In your heart. That I may not sin against God. If you don't have that word in your heart, you will. The fear of God, if you got that word in your heart, it's the fear. You fear God. You wanna, oh fear, I'm not talking like a bear or a lion or nothing like that. But you fear him, you want to please him. And if you don't have a relationship with him, then what's gonna happen is if you don't have a relationship with God, what's gonna happen? You're not gonna do what God said. You're gonna do what you want to do. But when you have a relationship with him, just like a husband and wife, you listen when your husband tells you certain things, you say, Well, well, let's can we talk about it? You know, you don't just go out and say, hi, just shoot off like that. But you want to want peace. You see what I'm saying? So that's the same way with God. If we don't spend no time with God, we're not gonna understand what God got for us. That's why I want to start going back through this Bible again. Um, I'm not gonna wait till no first of the year, like some people say, wait till the first of the year. I want to go back through like I did the first time and go back through it again and begin to because some things you miss. Get to know him. God knows you don't get to know him. These tests go, these things, this is just a beginning. Y'all just might just buckle up. This is just the beginning. If you don't know God, all the people over there getting killed and stuff, and and and and these they are relevant, they'll chop their head off. But they would not deny their God because they know their God. Which one you would talk about, Holy Saint, I'm gonna chop your head off and deny your God. Some people would probably deny their God because they don't want the head to get chopped off. Very important. Did you get it, Degan and Story? You you understand? Yeah, so it's very important that we put God first. Always remember, Jesus never moved unless the Father told him through the Holy Spirit. So God is saying to us today, it's not about the building. We come here to get fed, and then we go out and give out your testimony, help somebody else. We all got a testimony. How God, if you ain't got nothing to say about how God saved you, how you was out in the world, like you said this morning, how you was out there, doing this and doing it. And people look at you sometimes and say, How in the world did you do that? But they can't see themselves. Turn the light back on you, see what you did with you right there. All this stuff that you did. So rob, some people stealing, all that kind of stuff. So we do all kinds of stuff because we have a sin nature. But once we give our life to Jesus, that's it.
