Why Iran’s 47 Years Of Escalation Demands A Strong Response
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
The West’s greatest foreign policy failure is believing that every adversary is just one handshake away from peace—a myth that has cost lives from the 1979 embassy takeover to today’s deadly drone wars. Over forty years, the same cycle of provocation, denial, and weak consequences has led to escalating threats from Iran, while history’s hard lessons are too often lost in the noise. Clarity and credible deterrence aren’t warmongering; they’re the protections that prevent disaster. Tune in to today's episode of The Rant Network as we pull back the curtain on why blinking at aggression only invites more, and why it’s time for a rethink.

Host Returns And Audience Backlash
SPEAKER_00The sound is back. The sound is back.
SPEAKER_01Guys, look who's here. Look who's here. Look who's here after being away for a few days and talk about a timing of everybody of him coming back. Ladies and gentlemen, I gotta tell you while I did this solo, and I've we've done, by the way, Stuart, I don't know if you know this, but I've been 150 rants so far and over the last almost six years. And what's incredible is it's always to see what generates the reaction from people when we post online. And lo and behold, my solo Sunday. Ooh, it irritated people, and it irritated the same type of people, the same type of people who went after us after 7th, the same type of people we, you know, said that when we went to attack us when we talked about how Joe Biden is some, you know, probably a member of the Jim Henson Muppets. We did a lot of this stuff, and what was the reaction, ladies and gentlemen? We've got ha ha, you guys, you guys, you it's always Trump's fault. Trump, Trump, you guys are creating Stuart. It was it's hilarious to see the reaction. But lo and behold, you're back, and you were able to comment on some of these things. Tell our viewers and listeners why the people who made these comments, and I'm hoping you're back, people, why you're missing the point tire thing.
Framing The Stakes And Media Failures
1979 Hostage Crisis And Lessons
SPEAKER_00Stuart. Well, as I put mute on my mobile device here, let me let me be clear. I'm gonna try and be polite, but the world needs to hear this. David and I have for uh 750 episodes have been literally talking about things that the media fails to really get across. So let me start with the simple truth. One that too many politicians in Washington have been too timid, too polite, or frankly bought off to say anything loud. Iran is not misunderstood, it's not a nation that's to be misunderstood at all either. Iran is potential the partner waiting for the right diplomatic handshake. Iran is a regime built on theology of hatred, hatred towards America, hatred towards Israel, hatred towards every free people on earth, and it has spent the last four and a half decades proving it with blood. I'm not here to be inflammatory, I'm here to be accurate because there's a difference between being provocative and being truthful. And the American people, the Canadian people deserve the truth about the Islamic Republic of Iran, has done, continues to do, and its countries with its allies. So let's walk through a little bit of history, which David loves because I am not the history graduate, but I love pointing. Let's name the attacks, let's name the victims, and let's seriously talk about strong, confident foreign policy looks like when dealing with a regime that has never, not once, kept its word on a civilized world. It all begins in 1979, the birth of a terror state. Iran, you have to understand, was the year of the Shah fell. The Ayotollah Kumene returned from exile in Paris, and the year the Islamic Republic declared war on the modern world. And it started with the United States on November 4th, 1979. A mob of Iranian students with full support and eventual blessing of Khomeini himself stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and took 52 American diplomats, citizens, hostage. They were not soldiers, they were diplomats, secretaries, and analysts. They were blindfolded, paraded in front of cameras, and held for 444 days. Now, if you want to remember maybe yellow ribbons tied in your front yard, maybe you'll remember how this all ended, but 444 days we talk about, we think about, while Jimmy Carter wrung his hands and sent diplomats to beg. While military rescue missions ended in disaster in the Iranian desert. The Americans watched in humility. Iran learned something, they learned there were no real consequences.
SPEAKER_01I don't think he meant humility. I think he meant humiliation. Sorry. I think we are kidding. Humbled, I can tell you. Go on, please.
1983 Beirut Bombing And Withdrawal
Khobar Towers And Weak Responses
Iran’s Ties To 9/11 Transit
Shift To Present Threats And Schools
SPEAKER_00America watched in humiliation. Yeah, sorry, sorry. Apologize. Ronald Reagan learned that lesson and clipped the wings of Jimmy Carter abruptly in the political angst of that 1979 year. The hostages were released the day, the very hour he was inaugurated. That wasn't coincidence. That was a regime that understood finally they met a man who wasn't going to apologize for American power, the American cowboy. But the lesson Iran learned from Carter was keep testing decades after and decades continued. America blinks the Democrat. Then let's move to the next major event. Let's fast forward to October 23rd, 1983. Suicide bomber drove a truckload of equivalent to 21,000 pounds of TNT into a U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut. Now, 241 American servicemen were killed that day. 241 in a single instant. It remains to this day the deadliest single-day death toll for United States Marine Corps since Io Jima of World War II. So you assholes that try and say America didn't do a damn thing, da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. And we shouldn't even be there. I'm only beginning. The attack was carried out by the arm of Iran called Hezbollah, a terrorist organization created, funded armed directly by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, IRGC, for you morons who don't know, didn't aspire to attack. They planned it. They provided the explosive, they provided the operational support, so on and so on. The same day, a simultaneously, a bombing struck the French paratrooper barracks, killing 58. Iran wasn't hiding. They were announcing themselves to the world. And the response from the Americans were: we withdrew from Lebanon, we left Iran. And again, it learned that attacking America and attacking the West, America will retreat. The families of the 241 Marines have spent decades in court trying to hold Iran legally accountable. Federal judges, including U.S. federal courts, have found Iran legally responsible and awarded billions in damages. Iran has never paid a dime, not a single cent, and has never been held responsible for its war crimes it's committed in 1979 or 1983. I'm not going to go on and on, but I'm just going to continue for just a brief moment, David. Let's go to the 1990s. The Kobar Tower. That's June 25th, 1996. A military using a housing complex near Saudi Arabia. A fuel truck loaded with roughly 20,000 pounds of explosives parked next to the eight-story building and detonated. 19 U.S. Air Force personnel were killed. 490 people of various nationalities were injured, and the blast was felt for 20 miles away with building windows shattered. The FBI investigated led directly to the Saudi Hezbollah, funded and trained by the Iranian government. But beyond those stern words, beyond some diplomatic protest, the Democrats did nothing. No military response, no economic punishment, nothing, nothing, nothing at all. I will then list off a few more dates. Here's a big one, David. The connection nobody still has to talk about. Some actually say were the cornerstone operatives in that incident. The commission itself noted that eight of the 10 of the 19 hijackers transited through Iran. Iranian borders, Iranian officials were instructed not to stamp their passports. The commission concluded that Iran may very well have facilitated the entire attack. Al-Qaeda is Sunni. Iran is Shia. And yes, the ideologies have differences. But there's one thing that they share. And believe it or not, I've ranted this entire time, which is 11 minutes, and I haven't even brought up the little Satan of the big Satan. That's Israel. And I'm going to let David take this because what has Iran done lately?
Borders, DHS Funding, And IRGC
SPEAKER_01All right, Stuart, yeah, what you did was beautiful. And I want to thank you for elaborating on what I did on pretty much on Monday by going really much, much deeper into this. But ladies and gentlemen, let me give you a little bit of side context here because what pisses me off about everything that Stuart read off is none of this is being taught in school. None of this is being taught brought up in the media. None of this is being brought up by politicians. Here's what is being brought up by it, the left. The politicians, like the Democrats, will not fund DHS. Why? Let me go to let's let's play explain why we need to refund DH to fund DHS again, is because there's an imminent threat now in the United States. The imminent threat is of sleeper cells, of people who who that Joe Biden led in to will now will attack. IRGC are in the United States. They're known, they're listed. Thank you, Mr. Biden, for your open border policy. Thank you so much for bringing in these illegals that now the United States government has to figure out how to fund DHS. And what's your response? Well, we won't because Mr. Trump doesn't know how to treat illegal immigrants. Hello, wakey wakey. You brought in the terrorists and you refused to help. Mr. Trump called you out last week in the State of the Union.

Civilian Targets And Regional Spillover
Gulf War Memory And New Alignments
SPEAKER_01He caught you and he caught you hard. That you don't care for the American population and you don't care for the safety. Now let's talk about the Iranian imminent threat stored. This is because they're saying there's no imminent threat. Well, Steve Witikoff admitted in an interview that the negotiators from Iran came in boasting that they had the capacity to build 11 nuclear weapons and to fire it on, as you said, little Satan and Big Satan. Hold on a second. What do you mean there's no imminent threat? There is an imminent threat. And when when oh, someone named Barack Obama saw that in Syria, what did he do? When other presidents do something, what did they do? Now, Stuart, you said something that is I'm gonna just modify slightly. It isn't just Democrat presidents that sit on their hands and did fuck all. So did Republican presidents for 40 plus years, Republican and Democrats all stood there and said, we will negotiate with Iran. We will negotiate with Iran. That's bullshit, it doesn't work, and we continue to hear the stupidity. We should negotiate with Iran. And who's bringing this up? Pedro Sanchez, the prime minister of Spain, this piece of shit, refuses to support the United States in this endeavor. What party is he from, Stuart? The Spanish Socialist Workers Party. Oh, the communists who are against this, who support global terrorism. Who else is against it? Oh, Emmanuel Macron, who has more Muslims in his country than you can't imagine. And he doesn't know how to handle anything in his country anymore. And he's poo-pooing on it. Who else is down on it? Keir Starmer, Mark Carney, the prime ministers of the UK and Canada. Why? Oh, their political base. Oh no, if I support Donald Trump, what will my base do to me? Are they really caring about you? Absolutely not. And oh, let me remind you of the friends in the media who stood, you've conveniently you brought up the history lessons, and they've conveniently ignored all of these lists of transgressions against the United States. They also forget, they don't want to tell you and admit that the United States and Israel are attacking military installations. Let me remind you, military installations. Israel has sent leaflets and messages to Iranian citizens to get out of the way. But Iran sends drones and missiles into civilian areas. Not just Israel, Stuart, UAE, now Turkey, in Oman, in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, where by the way, there are no bomb shelters. They're attacking civilians. They went after the the uh um airport in Dubai. There are no repeat, no repercussions. Oh, and Stuart, what is an Iranian ship doing off the coast of Sri Lanka? Hey, what are they doing there? What are these? What is this kind of barrage of missiles and drones that are being fired by Iran? But instead, Anna Navarro from the view, what does she say? Well, this war is just a way for us to divert our attention from the Epstein files. This bitch puts this out there. Wait a minute, are you using a democratic tactic like you did in Minnesota to have attack ICE agents so you can divert the attention from the Somali scandal in Minnesota? Oh, it's incredible that the United States is so divided that Israel has brought to world attention that if there is no attack now on this window of opportunity to go after Iran to eliminate an imminent threat of for the region, let me say it again. It was not just an imminent threat to the to to Israel, to the entire region. And oh, by the way, America first people who say this is not about America first, you guys are fucking up, you're fucked up. All of you people who put comments in our thing about no, this is not about America first, do not understand what it means, America first. If I'm the president, if I'm your pres in the United States right now, I am celebrating what Trump has done because he has put the safety of the American people first and foremost. The previous president decided that everybody who walks in is welcome. Criminal, not criminal, rapist, murderer, terrorist, you're okay. The rest of you, no. No, no, no. You can't touch the illegals. Your country is filled with criminals, with threats. This is about putting America first. Israel and the United States are doing something remarkable. Stuart, here's one thing that the that your media is also not covering. In the first Gulf War in the early in 1990-91, let me remind you that Israel was told by then President Clinton, stay on the sideline because I have an Arab alliance attacking Iraq. Remember, we're going after who are we going after? We're going after Saddam Hussein and we're going to take him out. That was back then. And Israel stood at the sideline and said, never again are we standing on the sidelines. What was the worry? Was that the Arab Alliance would disappear. Guess what? This war isn't just the US and Israel. Qatar, Saudi Arabia have attacked Iran in retaliation. There was no demand to get rid of Israel. There was no demand here to make sure that Israel would stay on the sidelines. Instead, they're fighting side by side. Here's the irony, Stuart. The Iranians have tried, as I've said on Monday, to build a new caliphate in the region. What they have done is create a new world order that the West is pissed off about. That all of a sudden Israel and the Arabs might actually work together, that they may meet that their entirety of their everything they stand for might be proven wrong. And they have to dismantle it at the risk of your lives. That's what these commentators who put these stupid comments in our in our in our in our YouTube videos and our clips and our and our all this don't get. What Stuart brought up and is listing here at the bottom of the screen is just one action after another that the Iranians have conducted on a global scale. And you're choosing to ignore the reality that your life is in danger. That the Iranians are want to bomb New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC. They could care less about you. And you're giving them nothing but praise. Bravo, bravo.
SPEAKER_00Let me close with this, Dave. There's a temptation in American politics, particularly among those who consider themselves sophisticated at cosmopolitan nuanced, to view every conflict as a misunderstanding, as every enemy is a potential partner, and every PA problem is amenable with dialogue and good faith negotiation. That the worldview is not wrong because it's naive, it's wrong because it's tested and is tested again with Iran. For 45 plus years, Iran has exploited that good faith every single time. They took our diplomats hostage, they bombed our Marines, they killed our soldiers with road-sized bombs, they plotted to fur murder our presidents, they've built centrifuges behind the backs while lying and cashing our checks, including Obama's billions.
SPEAKER_01The men and women who wear billions and Biden's billions. Don't forget Biden's billions, too.
SPEAKER_00The men and women who wear uniforms in this country deserve a leader, and so do we, the American people and the world at large. The allies that depend on our strength deserve a partner whose means, whose words mean something. The American people and its foreign policy rooted in reality, not wistful thinking. The Islamic Republic of Iran has told us who they are. They chant death to America, not as a metaphor, not as a political theater, but as a statement of intent. And the very least we can do is believe them. Strength is not aggression, clarity is not hatred. Demanding accountability is not war. It's the price, credibility, and credibility is the currency of peace.
Final Case For Strength And CTA
SPEAKER_01David Stuart, let me wrap it up with this. There is no understanding of diplomacy when you deal with an authoritarian regime. Take a look at Putin, there's no diplomacy. Take a look at China, there's no diplomacy. You could say again and again, we need to be diplomatic. We need to be above, you know, all this arrogance. But when you're dealing with regimes like Iran, they only know one thing: strength, power, whatever you want to call it. And the United States and Israel has flexed it, that they will not allow the Iranians to have a bomb. They didn't fix it, they didn't finish the job last year. And the realization was that they needed to do this again. And if they didn't take this window of opportunity, the world would be in such catastrophic danger. So open your eyes, people. Trump is not the warmonger that you want him to be. Trump is not the Hitler that you want him to be. Trump is not the person that you think you know, oh my God, all he does is play, you know, military, he wants to play with the military as if he's playing risk. No, no, no. That's not what's happening here. What's happening here is bringing safety to the world, bringing an order so that wherever you go, you're not threatened. And as you see at the bottom of the screen, how many bombs went off in embassies, airports, community centers, sponsored, state-sponsored terrorism by Iran. If you want to see this go away, the Iranian regime has to go away. That's it, everybody. Have yourself a great week. Thanks a lot for sticking around. Check us out on theratnetwork.com. Our clips are everywhere. Our feed is everywhere. Please share it with your friends. We look forward to seeing you guys on Friday. Have a great rest of your week.
