"Is the Democratic Party finally waking up to the dangers of its own extremism, or are voters simply tired of endless partisan warfare?" This week’s political shakeup shows that even the party faithful are rejecting radicalism in favour of centrism, signalling a backlash against the loudest progressive voices. As history reminds us, unity and common purpose have guided nations through their darkest times—but will today’s leaders listen, or double down on division? The coming elections may reveal just how ready Americans are to move past the politics of outrage and demand real solutions instead.

Calm Down And Set The Stage

SPEAKER_01

Musica. It's not the weekend yet. Calm down. Calm down. Calm down. And speaking of calming down, ladies and gentlemen. You know, it's been a it's been a wacky doodle three weeks with you know the United States, Israel going after Iran. Um, you could see socialist governments around the world just not happy with Donald Trump, needing to prove a point that they're smarter than him. Trump's an idiot. And it seems to be that this is the mantra. There's no unity. In World War II, the Allies got together after the imminent threat from Hitler. What people didn't realize is that Hitler was playing and toying with the world back in the late 1930s, whether it was with Czechoslovakia, Austria, Poland, whatever it was, and it needed a full-blown war to get Europe into realizing what where this maniac was going. It took another two years before the United States joined the war after Pearl Harbor to realize that there was a the threat wasn't you know just in Europe because the isolationists in the United States wanted to stay out of this war again. World War I, Great War, they didn't want to go back in, they were brought in in 1941. The realization that when you fight together for democracy, democracy wins. Apparently, 80 odd years later, the left is decided it's not an important lesson to learn from. After 9-11, George Bush Jr., who was mocked, ridiculed, he too was called an extremist. By the way, he too was called this right-wing crazy Hitler. Okay, much to everybody's surprise, he wasn't. He rallied the country after 9-11 and realized we needed to fight back against terror. There was no country, but there was a terror. But it wasn't George Bush, ladies and gentlemen, who took out bin Laden. It was Barack Obama. And at no point did you hear when Barack Obama took out bin Laden, did you hear the Republicans go, Well, you didn't ask our permission. You didn't ask us if we were okay with this whole thing. How dare you? You could have started a war with Pakistan. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Here's the problem. The left is so freaking deranged that now the Democratic voters, the voters for the Democratic Party are saying, guys, enough. There are many in the party who still want to, you know, trounce Trump like he's the loony crazy person. And that's fine. Welcome to the squad, where you can sit with all the radicals. You could sit with the Bernie Sanders who continues to shout and yell, we shouldn't forget the people of Palestine, even though like the man cannot get his head out of his own ass when it comes up to what's best for the United States of America. Not the squad and not many members of the Democratic Party. So what we saw this week was that candidates that are squad-like got squashed by this, all this voting for the next election. That these radical candidates that the squad endorsed, that Bernie Sanders endorsed, all the primaries, they lost these elections because the people are telling the Democratic Party, we're tired of extreme politics. We need to bring the country back to a more centrist mindset and to stop with TDS and to stop with this progressive lunatic policy. There are some policies you might say are worthy, but the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, Stewart, has taken it so far out that Democratic voters are saying we need to put the brakes and hit reverse. Let's say you, my friend.

How The 2024 Message Collapsed

Performative Politics Versus Governing

SPEAKER_00

Okay, the Democratic Party's losing. Not to some resurgent conservative intellectual movement, not to a brilliant Republican strategy. They're losing to themselves. They're losing because six on six safe blue seats in districts where a golden retriever with a D next to his name could win. And an allow to set a message agenda for the entire national party. Six seats, David. That's not a coalition. No, it's not a movement. That's a hostage situation with a reality good social media team. Reality TV show, right? And every swing district for Democrats in America has been paying what I call the squad tax. Here's how it works: it's a most beautiful, simplistic thing, if it weren't so destructive. A squad member says something radioactive, defund the police, abolish ice, pick your favorite, free free Palestine. And within 48 hours, some poor Democrat, suburban Pennsylvania nutcase, a person who actually has to win voters over to you know win business, who worries about whether their car is going to get broken into, who don't subscribe to a single one of the ideological assumptions backed into a slogan. That person gets a microphone jammed in their face. Do you agree with your colleagues? Now they stuck. They're stuck, defend it, they don't believe it, distance themselves. No, they look fractured. Either the answer is bad, that the tax paid every cycle with compound interest. And then layer on top of that, TDS, anti-Trump obsession, as a complete substitute for an actual governing vision. And I'm not using Trump derangement syndrome as a cheap insult. I'm here describing a strategic posture where your entire political identity and opposition is to one man. You've outsourced your relevance to your opponent. That's not political partisanship. That is partisanship at the core. The time is right. 2018, anti-Trump works, great midterms, 2020, they win. But notice who they ran. Joe, I can't remember Biden and hyena, the sidekick. The normality candidate, the guy who could talk to a union, Hall and Scranton, without sounding like he was delivering a graduate seminar on the intersectionality, like Obama. That was a concession. Whether they admit it or not, it was an admission of pure anti-Trump energy alone was enough. Then 2022. It should have gotten destroyed based on historical patterns. Instead, the red wave fizzled into the modest Republican majority. And Democrats celebrated. And they treated a warning shot as a victory line. David, no surprise. 2024. Trump on the ballot, every January 6th clip deployed at a maximum volume. Every indictment was weaponized. Every threat to democracy speech was delivered with gravity of wartime address. And they lost the popular vote for the first time in a generation. They lost ground with black men under 40, their hemorrhagic union households in Pennsylvania and Michigan, the foundation of Democratic Path of Presidency, Latino voters in the Rio Gran Valley in Florida, in Texas. Voters are part of treating Democrats inherently rather than human beings who needed to be earned, walked away. And where voters actually saying, what were they saying? It wasn't complicated, it was subtle. They were saying grocery costs too much, my rent is insane. I don't feel safe in my neighborhood. The border is not secure. The border's a mess. What moron says the border is secure? Oh, President Biden. Oh, Kamala Harris. Oh, the squad. That's it. The message delivered is the only language that matters. Ballots results. And the party's response book another MSMBC segment about the threat to democracy. Kamala Harris's campaign was the purest distillation of total and utter democratic failure. A candidate who, when asked on national television whether she'd done a single thing differently than Biden, couldn't name a fucking thing. Not one. The closing argument of the entire campaign after months of searching for a message was Donald Trump's scary. That was the pitch. Vote for us because the other guy's scary. Am I watching Looney Tunes or am I just living in a cartoon against a man the American electorate had already lived with for four previous years? You cannot scare people away from a known quantity. They've already priced him in. Whether Democrats had anything to offer instead of answering a campaign slogan. Right? Blame Bush. Blame Trump. It's just blame Reagan. There's one thing that ties the squad, politics and anti-Trump. It's structural level. They're both performative. They're both about to show not the work. AOC has been in Congress for multiple turns. Her legislative record record is consequently is essentially non-fucking existent. If your brand is transformational, your scoreboard is zero, David. You're not governing. You're doing a political performance on Broadway. Collecting the money and not lowering the price of eggs, this AOC. Now, someone's going to say, but moderate and moderation is a trap. Move to the center and become Republican light. It's an argument. I'll give it that. But the evidence doesn't support it. The Democrats who survived 2024 most effectively were the ones who were screaming the loudest about Trump. They weren't those. It was the ones that did it. The ones who could talk credibly about jobs, safety, about local concerns without needing to define their entire identity against the orange tangarang man. The center isn't surrender. The center is where the majority gets built. Ask Bill Clinton. No, not from under his desk. Or ask Tony Blair. He dug the Labor Party out of a militant tendency wreckage. This isn't some groundbreaking insight. It's one of the oldest rules of democratic politics. And here's my honest read. Where this goes, I won't surrogate. Cable news, still book squad members because they generate clicks. The small donor fundraising machine still rewards the most inflammatory voices, which seem to be death to Israel, death to Jews, anti-Semitism, and on and on and on. The primary electorate is safe blue districts, still skewed towards activists who find themselves energized rather than electoral toxic. The correction will be incomplete. The party will probably lose more cycles before institutional weights shifts to enough matters. Politics don't reform, pain does. And I'm telling you, there is a lot of pain, not only in America, but in Canada and most Western countries. You can scream from a 50-foot ladder. The squad does, and now there's a squad tax. And it keeps getting collected for an anti-Trump playbook that keeps getting recycled. The working class goes broke, who built a country with the Republicans in a coalition called the Great New Deal, America. But the deal coalition is drifting towards a party that no longer exists. History has seen this movie, it doesn't end well for the fractions. And don't make a mistake, Twitter following governing majority. The psychopath Omar's, the Khalibs. You want to name a few more?

SPEAKER_01

No.

No.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you had enough.

ICE DHS Funding Fight And Blame

Kitchen Table Issues Beat Slogans

SPEAKER_01

No, but because you know, great. That was great. Let me put it to you a little bit different perspective, guys. Extreme politics has been around for quite some time, and people are really exhausted. Tired. And we've seen it on both parties. When Republicans do something, people are like, okay, enough. But here's the problem, Stuart. The Democrats, you know, when they go out and say crime isn't the problem, the voters told them it's a problem. When they told them, like you said, immigration is not a problem. But what did they do? They sank their teeth in the night recently into this whole ICE. They decided they're going to take out ice. And look what they did in the process. DHS, TSA, not getting paychecks. So what do the Democrats do? Say, no, no, no, we'll separate ICE from everybody else and we can fund TSA and DHS. Don't worry. Oh, the game that the Democrats themselves refuse to play, time and time again, when the Republicans suggested it, now is the game that they want to play. The Democrats continue to try to convince dumb voters, as they like to call them. Remember Hillary's term, the deplorables, all these dumb voters. You don't know what you're talking about. We know better. The arrogance of the Democratic Party has gone off the charts. Okay. And you can see it again and again and again. And even liberal media has jumped on this for once to go after Democrats by saying, Why aren't you funding DHS and ICE and TSA? And they go, Well, we have offered to separate it. It's the Republicans that don't want to negotiate. Wait a minute. What is the word negotiation? Let's talk about two sides. So the Democrats have decided that the Republicans are the extremists and the Democrats are the ones that don't want to do it. And again, the Democrats continue to say it's always the Republicans' fault. They have done nothing to generate this problem. ICE is a problem in the United States because the Democrats allowed this open border immigration problem. And when Stuart, I'm sitting here in Montreal and there's breaking news in Burlington that there was an ice raid in Burlington, Vermont, and they crap all over ice. This is what the Dems love. They love this anarchy. They love this problem because it just shows that the the the that look, Trump is the deranged, you know, anarchist. He is uh Hitler, he is it's stormtroopers. You've got Joy Reed, Joy Reed Stewart, who compared life for women in the United States to life of women in Iran and said, we are one in the same. And I'm quote, not quoting her directly, but I'm paraphrasing her words. This is what the left has done. And you've got morons like James Carville, who predicted a horrifying loss for Donald Trump in 2024, who's gone off as rocker has now decided Trump's going to resign next year. Where are your policies? What do you stand for? When a gentleman named John Fetterman stands up and goes on many talk shows, liberal, conservative, podcasts, you name it, and says, I'm embarrassed by my party because it's lost its way. He won't become a Republican, he says. He's gonna fight for the Democratic Party to return back to what it was decades ago. Because right now, this party, as Stewart always likes to say, is this isn't the party that you saw from John Kennedy. This isn't the party that you had with Jimmy Carter. This is not the party that you had even under FDR. Truman, you have got a party today filled with the haters, filled with racists who want to take and destroy the United States of America. When Trump announces that he wanted to bring manufacturing back to the United States, what was the reaction by the Democratic Party? Why are you crazy? You're just gonna raise prices. Not we're gonna bring employment back. What a good idea. When he when Trump campaigned on no tax on tips, what do the Democrats say? No, no, no, no, thou shalt not. Why? Because you're gonna take away money out of it. Doge may not have, but then Kamala changed her mind. Yeah, but yeah, and she took all those policies. Doge may not have been perfect, but it exposed the fallacy of the Democratic Party. And yes, the Dems are gonna continue to tell you that Doge was the worst thing that ever happened. Except look at all these millions of dollars that were said for the dumbest of programs that were your tax dollars that went somewhere else. Stuart, this is what I'm saying. Listen to the voters. The voters were telling you in 2024, thou shalt not. Jasmine Crockett blamed the whites, males for losing her, you know, her primary to this guy, uh Torliko. I can't remember his name. Is okay. All right, these extreme moves, these extreme candidates are losing because the people are saying enough. Kitchen table topics are more important than rhetoric that you're throwing out on Face the Nation and all these other talk shows. Okay, Stuart, I gotta tell you, people want clarity. People want to be able to put more food on the table. People are upset by what oil going on with oil prices going up right now, and the Democrats are taking full advantage of it. But you want to know, ladies and gentlemen, under Joe Biden, you had nine dollar eggs. Okay, you had nine dollar eggs, and you could say that that was oh, because that was they had to slaughter a lot of chickens due to the avian flu. And you would be right, but you had nine dollar eggs, and what did what Joe did Joe Biden do anything to pass any legislation to help people put eggs, basic food on the table? And the answer, Stuart, is no. And so to continue to play the point, the finger of the blame game and say we want to be in power, but we want to do nothing, that is what the Democrats have as a policy. Stuart, you went on for a good few minutes and loved your rant. Do you have any final parting words for our friends who are going to tell us that we're just impar not impartial, Stuart?

Dialogue Moderation And Final Wrap

SPEAKER_00

Oh, you know, David, look, we've gone off. Oh no, no, don't tell me we've gone off on on tangents forever. This is no tangent. My my my final my final candled candid response is you know, we don't want to be mainstream, we want to be the cutting edge. I want to take with you and parse stupidity that goes out and show the world. You know, what when people watch this rant in its entirety, it runs 15 to 25 minutes, and we've done it over and over and over again. But what I will tell you uh is that the people that are now watching and understanding, you know, we're not TV heads, we are podcast heads. And and we're trying to bring a message that every dinner table in America actually has discussed or afraid to discuss at levels it's not seen since a civil war. And that's exactly what the squad wants in this country, and they're doing it, raising a dollar dollar from people in America that can't afford it.

SPEAKER_01

Anyways, folks, listen, this is the problem. And I'll tell you, Stuart, I'm gonna wrap this up. Yesterday I had a phenomenal lunch with someone who saw a rant, Lebanese Muslim woman. We had the greatest conversation for 90 minutes that I've had in the longest time. Good. And I'll tell you what you said right now, moderation. She was afraid to go there. But once we opened up the the the the you know the Pandora's box we couldn't close it. But we both learned something from each other because there was a thing called dialogue. There was a question of how do we meet in the middle? Those were her words. How do we meet in the middle? And right now Democrats have no interest in meeting in the middle. They want to keep pulling you left. And that's what voters are saying. Stop ladies and gentlemen that's it for another week of the Rent Network. We shall be back next week. Have yourself a great weekend everybody stay safe. Cheers
