The Silent Coup - Canada’s Quiet Power Grab

"When democracy gets hijacked in broad daylight, is anyone paying attention?" In Canada, a wave of floor crossings by Conservative MPs has handed Mark Carney and the Liberal Party a full majority, yet the public outcry is nowhere to be found. Imagine the uproar if this happened in the United States—protests, allegations of bribery, and chaos would dominate headlines, but here, silence prevails. Are Canadians too complacent, or is this political manoeuvring just the new normal? Let’s talk about how power shifts can reshape the country while barely causing a ripple.

SPEAKER_00Hey everybody, welcome back to the Rant Network. I'm flying solo today, as you can see, no Stuart. But it gives me a chance to talk a little bit about what's going on outside of the United States. But let me put a question out there for you. Could you imagine if Donald Trump was to go to, I don't know, five or ten American senators on the Democratic Party, and about 25 or 30 Congresspeople, and figure out a way to get them to cross from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party. Imagine a supermajority in the Senate, a powerful majority in the House. What would be the reaction? Could you imagine? Well, the Democrats would be screaming, how dare they? This is absolutely unheard of. It's disgusting. It's not democracy. The people who were elected voted as Democrats are Democrats. How dare they cross the floor in such great numbers? What did he bribe them with? Think about the reaction from the media, calling him an even greater dictator, a consolidator of power, a man who can't help himself but to seize power at any cost. And again, the the allegations of what did he promise to make such a big move to create such a supermajority in the United States? Think of the absolute horror that would be absolutely unbelievable protests on the streets. Forget about the No Kings protest. What else could come out of all that? Imagine if Donald Trump did that. Now, here's the thing he didn't. But it happened in Canada. That's right. It happened in Canada. And the reaction? Crick. So for those of you who are not familiar with the Canadian system here of the House of Parliament, there are 343 seats. We had an election last year, and the winning party finished with a minority. They were first, the conservatives were second, followed by other parties. Now, the interesting thing about this last election was it was once again a minority government for the liberals, but this time it was led by Mark Kearney. And he was close to a majority, but not enough to get over it. So what were the options for him? Yeah, there were going to be a couple of by-elections. Yes, he did lose a few people in his party, moves, this, that, and the next thing. But the only thing he could do to get full majority power was really to call another election after the opposition parties would force the election on whatever vote. But Mark Kearney didn't want that. So Mark Kearney and the liberals found a different way to do it. Floor crossings. That's right, floor crossings. They found a bunch of MPs from the Conservative Party who were not very happy with the current leader, Pierre Polyev, even though at the Calgary Convention in January, the vote was seven out of eight people plus said yes to Polyev as a leader. But many MPs were not happy with Polyev. And that started with Chris D'Antremont in November the 4th, who moved over, followed by Mike Montgomery on December the 11th, Matt Generoo on February the 18th. Three moved over. And there were three by-elections called. And so now Kearney was rubbing his hands going, I have now this. If I can win those by-elections, we have majority status. But lo and behold, one more, two more happened. One was NDP Laurie uh Idler from the North, from the NDP moved over to the Liberals. Now the NDP is in disarray, and I don't know what happened with her, but she moved over as well. And it was inching closer to that majority. But the clincher was on April the 8th when Marilyn Gladio crossed the floor, who not long ago was the one screaming that floor crossings should the when if you're going to cross the floor, it should trigger a by-election. She's the one who was screaming about being pro-abortion. Sorry, pro-life, pardon me. She's the one who's really was quite anti-liberal. And then once she crossed the floor, all of that was forgotten. All of that was forgotten. The greatest fuck you moment she could possibly make to Puerpolyev that she flipped, that all the policies she stood for were gone. Now, here's the thing. The people who vote in an election, 90% of the vote of the idea behind the vote is to the leader of the party. Five to ten percent of it is to the actual individual on average. So here's the question I ask: should it trigger an election? Did Mark Carney do the right thing? Yes, we know that in Canadian history, we've had approximately 132 floor crossings in Canadian history. This is not a new thing. And only one third, by the way, have been re-elected in their in their new role with their new party. But that's not where the focus should be. The focus should be is why didn't Canadians, the media, scream and yell, Mark Carney is an autocrat. Mark Carney is trying to consolidate power. Because if that was Trump, even the Canadian media would have jumped on that. But it's not. Mark Carney is being protected at every step of the way. The media has gone out of its way to paint him in the best and the glowing picture possible. And yet, Canada's in trouble. Claims of all kinds of election claims that Kearney would put out there hasn't been done, hasn't been achieved. And yet, Carney gets away with it. Yet the media goes after Donald Trump hard. And yet they won't even do the same thing here with Mark Carney. The fear of having a conservative government in power in Canada is paralyzing for the left-leaning media here, particularly the CBC. The CBC has even been brought in front of the commissions here to talk about their policies. This is a state government, you know, this is a government-run media. It's funded by the government. And as a result, it has become its mouthpiece. Whatever policy the liberals want, it spews. Whatever the liberals say is gold. Whatever the liberal policy is out there is exactly what Canadians need and should be hearing. There's hardly any pushback. And to show you the degree of how much they want to go and do that, in the last election in 2025, not a single conservative was interviewed on CBC. A policy that was brought down by the higher powers, not to give the conservatives an ounce of opportunity. You see, Polyev in the previous election was talking about shutting down the CBC. Now, that wasn't a great plan, understood, but the message was take care of yourself, stop taking government money, giving the managers and the higher authorities big bonuses at the expense of Canadian taxpayers, just to be the liberal mouthpiece. Now, forget the fact that the CBC does not bother talking about the transgressions in other countries, loves to focus on anti-Semitism and being the greater anti-Semite and anti-Israel public uh mouthpiece, but that's not it. It's a state-run media house. It's almost no different than what we've seen in Russia, China, Iran, North Korea. It just spews whatever the government wants. Its goal is to keep the liberals in power. Because with the liberals in power, more money goes to CBC. So, what's Mark Carney really done for you? So, Mark Carney promised in the last election that there'll be more buy-in Canada. That's the policy. We're gonna be buying Canada. Well, wouldn't you know it? Not a single contract has been signed in this buy-in Canada policy. Imagine that. His counterpro, you know, his counter-offer to Canadians after the US slapped, you know, after Donald Trump and the US slapped tariffs on Canada was to increase the buy-in-Cada philosophy. But yet the Canadian government this week had to admit they haven't even signed a single contract. It's not really in place the program. Instead, infrastructure projects that are being put forward here in Canada are being provided and sold to foreign companies. How does this help Canada? It doesn't. That's the Carney way. The Kearney way is to put more into his pocket. Funny enough, Donald Trump, the stock market goes down, Donald Trump is at fault. The stock market goes up, Trump's cronies win. Think about that message with Mark Carney. Why isn't that not happening here? Because the media won't let you go there. There's no way to put it out there that Mark Carney could be as should I dare I use the word corrupt as Donald Trump? It's funny, eh? I'll give you another example where Mark Carney and his and his party have all tried to tell you that they are there to secure Canadians, to help Canadians. Have you seen the price of the pump? Absolutely, it's gone up. It's crazy. In many places in Canada, it was over$2 a liter. Now, the interesting thing is that 25 cents approximately of that, at least 25 cents of that, is to the federal, goes to the federal government. And yet, why did the federal government put a whole freeze on gas tax? Why didn't they help Canadians in any way, shape, or form? We've seen that in Germany, various other US states, other European countries froze their federal taxes to help pay for gas. Gas impacts everyone. It's not just one person or 10 people or 100 people or a million people. Every Canadian is impacted when gas prices go up. Cost of food goes up, cost of everything goes up. But yet, Mark Kearney's team kept saying, we're aware of it, we're taking, we're watching for it. Don't worry, we'll come back with a policy. Well, wouldn't you know it on the switch over from winter to summer gas, there's a 10 cent increase on gas prices? That's a federal, that's what happens at the federal level. And guess what happened? Kearney says we'll freeze the 10 cents. Doesn't that mean just zero status quo? That's exactly what it means. So instead of taking care of the 25 cents that would go back to your pocket, God knows how much that would cost you in your gas tank and the net effect of trucks and everybody else, the Canadian government wants it in their pocket. You see, in Canada, folks, we're paying more than 35 cents a liter more than you in the United States on average. That's a lot when you start filling your beer tank. If you have a 50-liter tank, guess how much that's really getting to you? So this is not some minor dent. It's not like a dollar at the pump. It's$15,$20 at the pump because of this increase. And the Canadian government is raking in billions and billions of dollars. And the response from the government is well, we help$22 million, 22 million Canadians with their grocery bill. We're gonna get a check in a few months for$700,$900, whatever that amount is. Seriously? That's the game plan. Sending checks to people? Yes, ladies and gentlemen. Once again, the bribery that Mr. Trudeau put in place back when he was a leader. Send checks to people. They love you by their vote for the next election. That's what Kearney's doing. He's consolidating all this money so that he can send more checks to people and he'll look like Santa Claus. What happened when Trump said that when he was going to send money back to people in the United States? Even the Canadian media went ballistic saying you have a huge debt. Why are you doing that? That's so wrong. Funny how when it's Trump coming up with the idea, it's bad. But if Carney and the liberals come up with it here in Canada, it's good. So let me ask you this: why the double standard? Why are Canadians getting screwed? Well, unfortunately, it's because from every media house that you go to, or almost every media house that you go to, on social, everywhere, the liberals are painted as the great saviors. How they painted Polyev? The next Trump. And it sticks. People have decided that conservatives are all like Republicans, far from the truth. But that's how they want to paint it here in Canada. That Polyev is like Trump. All he does is beat people up, he bullies people. It's fascinating how when him and Melissa Lansman, the deputy prime deputy leader, uh opposition leader, and all these other ones, when they come and they say bring out the truth, when they bring out the and they expose the bad parts of the of the Liberal Party, they're attack dogs. The liberals, they're your saviors. Ladies and gentlemen, don't get caught up in this. Don't get fooled. The Canadian government today in Canada has corrupted itself to be in power as long as possible. We have no term limits. So as a result, Kearney can be there forever. The liberals can be in power forever. But it has to stop. I don't agree with floor crossings that for for what happened with Mr. Kearney or ever. I think there's a problem. The voters wanted conservatives in those four ridings. Mr. Kearney played games and got them to cross the floor. Mr. Kearney should have called there should have been called a by-election in those ridings. But you know it would happen. It would go back to the conservatives, and liberals would never have a majority in that case. This is the game he played. He fooled everybody, he cornered everybody, he figured out a way without having to go to another general election, without having to work so hard at it, he figured out a way of how to consolidate power and to get a majority. Many who forgive the liberals are saying, but it's been done. I said it, 132 floor crossings in Canadian history. Yeah, sure, he got his majority until 2029. But it doesn't mean we can't get angry. It doesn't mean we can't oppose this government. We need to voice our displeasure, to create fake programs, to create fake illusions, to create all this stuff and say, look what we're doing for you. And at the end of the day, the net effect is higher prices. And to blame Trump because there's a war in Iran and to say, oh, that's why we're suffering in Canada is just bad liberal policy since Trudeau took over 10, 11 years ago. The pro-liberals have put Canada into a socialist pattern. We're not a capitalist country anymore. We're not producing like we used to. We're making excuses, and all we're doing is taking more money in and trying to create a socialist government. This is not going to work in Canada, ladies and gentlemen. And Mark Carney is trying to convince you that that's the way it should be for Canada. Forget the foreign affairs policy that's completely in the toilet. Forget a lot of other things. As a Canadian, are you proud today? As a Canadian, are you happy that you have this government now until 2029? As a Canadian, do you not feel the pain? Because if you say that, yeah, there's a pain, but it isn't our fault. It's someone else's fault, then you've bought into the rhetoric. Come on, people. We're smarter than that. Don't we want to go back to a more affordable society? Don't we want to give our kids a chance to get a house? Don't we want to get be able to live where our cost of living isn't through the roof? Stop blaming Trump. That's too easy. Where's the leadership that Mr. Carney promised? Where are the programs that Mr. Carney promised? Where's the actions? You could tell me he's been running around the world to sign agreements, but why hasn't it really come and impacted everyday Canadians? Because those programs aren't there for you. Remember that. And that's it, everybody. Have yourself a wonderful weekend. I'll catch you on Monday. Cheers.
