Peace Or Paper In The Middle East

“You don’t make peace with terrorists — you just buy time for them to reload.” This episode of The Rant Network explodes the myth of diplomacy with regimes that have spent decades funding terror and lying to the world. Trump’s new Iran deal may have opened the Strait of Hormuz and sent markets soaring, but behind the headlines lies a $25 billion payout to a regime still calling for global jihad. Stuart and David go head‑to‑head on whether this is historic leverage or another Neville Chamberlain moment — a handshake with the devil dressed up as progress. From frozen assets to nuclear promises, from appeasement to ideology, this rant asks the question no one in the West wants to face: can you really negotiate with people who celebrate death?

A Surprise Peace Announcement
SPEAKER_00Oh boy.
SPEAKER_01You know, Stuart, I gotta tell you this was one of the things it's a weird weekend. You know, it's a weird weekend. I'll tell you why. You know, Donald Trump, God bless. I'll tell you what, Donald Trump just showed the whole world what he stands for. The Trump brand, his legacy, his his his idea of what world order should look like. And it's amazing how over the weekend it came through. And yet, you know, Stuart, the incredible thing is the White House even leaked this statement. Peace. We have we will have peace. I can't believe either the White House is downright freaking brilliant or fucking stupid at this point to believe that they just made a deal, a memorandum of understanding with terrorists, and now they believe they brought peace to the Middle East. Stuart. All right, help me.
unknownAll right, all right.
SPEAKER_01Jump in, jump in, buddy, go, baby, go.
SPEAKER_00They told you Donald J. Trump was going to start World War III. They said it on CNN, they said it on the MS Now, they printed it in the New York Times. Today, Trump announced a deal to end the war in Iran with the reopening of the Strait of Hermuz. And it put Dune denuclearization pledge on the table. So I want you to ask how those people ask those people one simple question. How does Crow taste? Because I'm on that side of this conversation. Oh, we're gonna have a fun done today.
What Trump Says Just Happened
SPEAKER_00Let me tell you exactly what happened and not the conjecture. And more importantly, what didn't happen, because the story has two chapters, and the media is only reading you the first one. Here's chapter one. This morning, the president of the United States posted on Truth, and I'm quoting directly the deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all. I hereby authorize the full free opening of the Strait of Armooth.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Done. Posted the Strait Armooth. The waterway that carries approximately 20% of the world's entire supply of black oil is open. Gas prices are coming down, oil markets cratered, stocks are surging, and that's real. That happened. You gotta give the guy credit because I'm looking at almost a 2% gain before even the markets open, United States. JD Vance went on Fox this morning. Okay, went on, probably still floating around the television ring. If Iran complies with the deal, it will transform the Middle East. And he's right. That's the most important two letters that you have to focus
The Missing Teeth In The Deal
SPEAKER_00on. If there's no formal text, none what exists right now. Memorandum of understanding, quotations, air quotes, a draft framework, not a signed, verified, inspected agreement. The nuclear issue, the issue that's the one that actually matters, has put and has been punted 60 more days of negotiation. 60 days Iran agrees in principle not to enrich uranium, not to expand their nuclear facilities, not to acquire nuclear weapons. But there's no verification mechanical instrument there yet. No inspector name, no red lines drawing, and they're talking to the worlds of Italy's on the most dangerous weapons program on the planet. And here's the number that should make every American stomach turn.
The $25 Billion Frozen Assets Fight
SPEAKER_00Under the MOU, Iran is about to receive $25 billion of frozen assets. $25 billion back to head on before a final deal is signed, before a single centrifuge dismantled, before one inspector sets foot on Iranian soil. Now I know that the left is going to say, they're going to say, Stuart, Obama's JCPOA was the real deal. Trump killed it. Yes, he did. Because Obama's deal gave Iran cash and let him keep enriching uranium. And the media called that legacy a greatest achievement of the Middle East. They're calling Trump reckless for tearing up. Now Trump's come back with a framework that demands no enrichment. It opens oil lanes and frozen assets as leverage as a hedge. You can't win with these people, literally. You can't win. Pakistan Prime Minister Shabazz Sharif Broke brokered this talk and announced on X that VP Gance they represent the United States for the signing. And it's been confirmed that four days from now, four days for Iran to find a reason to walk, four days for leak clauses to blow the framework, four days for missile strikes from anyone to create this entire thing. Here's where I land, David. Trump did something historic today. I believe that the Strait of Our Moose opened, the killings stop for a moment. And the forces of Tehran are at a table that every foreign policy expert in Washington said was unreachable. But history is not made with a press release, it's not made on true social, it's not made by a drafted memo. History is made when the ink is dry and the inspectors are in and the nukes are gone. And the Moolahs are still complying six months after that. We're not there, we're not even close to there. So celebrating this moment, keep your eyes wide open because the most dangerous line is that any deal that Iran isn't the one they signed. It's the one they did it. You know, you've got to take it. And I see your I I see this, I see the eyes. I've known you for what 40 some odd years. I don't expect there to be a single slam dunk, a single Stanley Cup in this. I don't think it exists. I don't think the two to five percent of the world's radical Islamists are gonna cow tip to any agreement. However, if this agreement brings its neighbors closer and into the Abraham Accords David, I think I gotta tell you it's a flat out win.
SPEAKER_01All right, David, I'm kicking it over to
Terror Funding And Israel’s Security
SPEAKER_01you. No, no. You see, you gotta, you see, this is what this is where I love these byproducts. Let's remember why we attacked, why the United States and Israel attacked Iran. They were they boasted about the ability to develop 11 nuclear weapons. We saw them fire it in such a way that it could have reached Western Europe, which meant Israel was in its crosshairs with a nuclear weapon, let alone Europe. The idea was to absolutely rush the Iranian nuclear program. Not complete. There's no checkbox there, may have been stalled, may have been delayed. Okay. Then I love the statement. We're gonna send in, don't worry about it. They're not gonna develop it. I mean, have we learned anything from history? You signed a deal with Hitler, it meant nothing. You signed a deal with Stalin, it meant nothing. The JCPOA, which they signed, meant nothing, right? They were supposed to let inspectors in. Iran denied the UN inspectors. In fact, Iran paid off the UN so that they don't go in, so that they can't ignore it. What's gonna change, Stuart? And there's a vibe, there's a there's a parallel situation here that no one's talking about. Terrorist funding. The Iran is state-sponsored terrorist at the crosshairs. Israel was getting fired upon by Hezbollah, by Hamas, and by the Houthis, all sponsored by your friends in Iran. And Donald Trump, that son of a bitch over the weekend, yelled at Netanyahu after Israel was attacked again and again and again by Hezbollah. And the only thing he can do is yell at Netanyahu to stop because he had a deal with Iran, which in itself makes no sense. That Iran said, You want to deal with me? Israel has to have a ceasefire with Hezbollah. Why did anybody ask the question why? It's because Iran is not gonna stop. Iran, it's not only about nuclear weapons, people, it's about being the kings of the Middle East and then go beyond that. They want to rule the Middle East, Stuart. They are spreading their spot, their terrorism so that they can take over state by state by state. That is their mission. They've put it out there, it's in black and white. Even today, despite the mo, Iran is still calling for a global jihad. Iran is still saying that they are going to they that the United States and Israel continue to be the great Satans and enemies. What have we accomplished here? A piece of fucking paper that's gonna do nothing if it has no teeth. Iran cannot get a dime because 15, those, those, those frozen assets are gonna turn into weapons and they're gonna turn into you know more IRGC train terrorists coming into the United States and Canada and into the West. It hasn't stopped, Stuart. My problem with this MOU is the belief that you're bringing in peace and you gotta stop. The world has got to stop saying that word. Trump's gotta stop saying that word because until you take away the cancer that is the Iranian regime, no one's at rest. There is no peace. You know, I don't know if you listen to what I said. I heard you loud and clear, Stuart, and I appreciate very much the talking points that the White House probably sent you before our little rant today, because that is a great way of doing it. I heard you loud and clear, Stuart, and I've sat here with you for a long time, and I think with all due respect, sir, you need to wake up to a certain reality. You can't make a deal with the devil. And you made it, you're trying to make a deal, a diplomatic deal with people who, on one hand, will shake your hands and on the other hand will stab you in the back. And if you think that this is gonna get, you know what, to say to me, oh David, listen, more are gonna come to the Abraham Accords. Sure. UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, South Sudan, they're part of the Abraham Accords. Did that stop Iran? No, it did the opposite. When Saudi Arabia was supposed to sign the deal in October of 2023, and Joe Biden with loose lips and stupidity rambled about how he's bringing the Saudis to the to the to the to the Abraham Accords after, of course, he poo-pooed the Abraham Accords. Let's not forget, right, that whatever Trump he did was bad and whatever Biden did was good. Biden lit the match. Had he kept his mouth shut, God knows where we would be right now. But do you think that Saudi Arabia is coming to the table right now? Do you think that Oman and Qatar, especially Qatar, that continues to spew out Al Jazeera like shit? Do you think Pakistan, who claims to be suddenly this peacemaker, who've also declared Israel and Jews as Zionist enemies? And you listen to the rhetoric from all of these regimes, and you tell me what the hell did we just do to let Pakistan be the and Qatar be kingmakers, peacemakers. Are you kidding me? Are we that fucking blind and stupid in the West that we believe that we're we worked with terrorists? Come on, Stuart. Even you're not that naive.
SPEAKER_00You know, David. No, it it is uh memorandum of understanding standing 60 days, 60 days for Iran not to do anything. 60 days, yeah, but you know what, David? It took us a couple of days to completely dismantle 80 percent of the IRGC. Couple of days, David. Canada wasn't there, Europe wasn't there, the United States dismantled the largest state sponsor of terror in a matter of days.
unknownReally?
SPEAKER_00Well, say it's a IRGC one more time. Say it one more time. You said what in a couple of days, the United States dismantled the IRGC, no, sir. Please. The IRGC is dismantled? Who do you think is running Iran right now?
SPEAKER_01Excuse me. Hello?
SPEAKER_00What percentage of competence is left of the IRGC?
SPEAKER_01No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You you're you you you threw a statement out there with no validity. What are you on the left? Don't be insulting. How much of the competence is there? It doesn't matter. The ruling power hasn't changed in Iran. So what if there are less today? It doesn't matter. What Israel proved to the world is that you keep cutting off the head of the snake, more snakes pop up. The only way to get rid of the snakes is eradication, get rid of them all.
SPEAKER_00It's not about minimal. And let me ask you a question, David. You know, you're a smart guy, you throw out some pretty heavy words. Can you change an entire generation with a single piece of chord? So it's a second. I listened to your your your banter, follow along. So
Diplomacy Versus Regime Change
SPEAKER_00let me ask you, David Solomon, since you were clamoring that there's nothing in hand, tell me what a solution sounds like, and secondarily, how do you actually get from here to there? I've always stood fast by looking at people and saying, that's great to point out the problem, but not willing to recognize any steps towards a solution. Because in any complex matter, the person that can only point out the problem is more than likely part of that initial problem. Oh, thank you. So I believe, I believe, I believe that to be part of a solution is how do you get from here to there? I believe, I believe, I believe that there are many steps in this process. And I also believe there's lots of punishment that can occur between here and there if there isn't where we want to go.
SPEAKER_01So if you're gonna take you know, you you know, you you come at me like a westerner, a westerner, a westerner, and not like a person who understands the Middle East mentality. It's gang warfare, story. Here's what you've done. You said to me, let's take Western diplomacy and you'll see it'll work, and it hasn't. I'll tell you what works. I didn't say that. No, that's what you alluded to because you're sitting here going, we're gonna start with a memorandum of understanding, and then we'll get to the next step, and then we'll get to the next step. That's western diplomacy, my friend. That's what Westerners believe is the only way that works. It doesn't take a look at what's going on right now. A piece of paper was signed in 1978 with Israel and Egypt, and Egypt is on the verge of declaring war on Israel. It's a peace treaty, it's a piece of paper. Your schools were still teaching in the madrasa's hate towards Israel. You were teacher, you were still bringing in terrorists into Egypt. You didn't change. A piece of paper didn't change at the long term. I'll tell you what the problem is. So, oh whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I let you know what the problem is. Stop telling me the problem. What is the solution? Shut up and listen. Shut up and listen. Shut up and listen. Shut up and listen. I'm laying the foundation. You need to stop talking and you need to listen because what you did right now is to accuse me of just putting more problems ahead. The solution is in absolute, you need to bust their kneecaps. You didn't, you scratched them. The only way to affect change is to change the regime. The regime there, you took it out in Venezuela, Stuart. You took Maduro out in Venezuela, and you said you had to do that because that was going to be the case, the point. You didn't do it in Iran. You didn't do that in Iran. Why not? Why didn't you get rid of them? Because they were it was you weren't bringing in American soldiers into the Middle East, you weren't gonna do all these things, you didn't want blood on your hands. Stuart, that was the problem. Every military mind in the US who's looking at this is saying you scratched the Iranians, you didn't cripple them. There's the problem. The only solution was regime change, and you didn't go there. You said, let's leave it to the Israelis. That was chicken shit move. Military after military general experts said the same thing. All you did was push the problem further down the road. You gotta cripple them so badly. And with Trump saying, Oh, we need 70% of this and 80% of that, and whatever, did you really do it? No, there's their solution, Stuart. It doesn't sound pretty, it's not nice, but when you're playing in a in an area where people like Stuart, look at I'll give you a great example. Look at Colombia, where you had drug wars after drug wars, gangs killing each other, whatever. The only way they stopped was through threats. The only way they stopped was realizing that if they continued, they would lose their power. This is the same thing here. You're what what did Trump really do? What is Trump really doing?
SPEAKER_00All right, David, David, take a breath. Ayatollah Humeini, dead, ohhamed Bagheri, dead, Hussein Salomani, dead, Gula Marchid, dead, Amir Hazajak, dead, Davoud Sakinin, dead, Tahir Poor, dead, Mohamed Kazni, dead, Hassan Mukheik, dead. I I'm going through the entire rank of military might that was the IRGC that is no longer with us for better. Now, I again you're saying, what in the world? Again, let me hear your solution. I give me the solution. No, no, no, stop. Let me repeat. I'm repeating back to I understand you clearly. Kneecapping someone is a resolution and a solution to a problem. No, Stuart, don't give me Western bullshit.
SPEAKER_01Listen to yourself. Oh, knec Stuart, it's simple. Tell me, tell me, define simply. Simply put, you needed, you didn't get rid of the regime, Stuart. You got rid of a few leaders, and by the way, the U.S. could take the high fives, and it wasn't even the United States that went out and took all of these people. It, you know, without Israel, the United States would have not have accomplished so many of these things. The United States, Scott, and the Israel both accomplished a certain goal. There's no doubt. What they didn't do was change the path. This isn't changing the path. The regime will continue to do nuclear, will continue to go with its nuclear program or buy it on the black market. They'll buy it from Russia. Hold on, hold on. They'll buy it from Russia, they'll buy it from China, they'll do those kind of deals despite the United States. But here's the kicker, Stuart. The regime will, with all that money you gave them, will continue to fund terrorism on a global scale. They'll continue to pay universities to indoctrinate students. What did you do to stop them? You say it's a Step. I don't buy the step. David, David, I want to stop again. Yeah, no. You don't like when I joined the president. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00David, I I need I need to stop you for a second, President. You have an ideology that lives beyond the borders and beyond the control of the IRGC. However, it's the same ideology that has floated across the oceans to Canada, United States, and beyond. That ideology, which we could relate to World War II, the death and destruction of Adolf Hitler and the neo-Nazi Party, which the Nazi Party still exists today as well, David. The victory of World War II, then, based off of your statement, is still not seen, heard, or understood. It's my belief that, yes, David, it takes a lot of black eyes and dead bodies to get to some sort of solution that may likely be temporary. No different was World War II and the German Nazi Party. Which, by the way, again, let me iterate. I am listening. You you you you still keep going back? No, I gave you something. So tell me if I would to use that rationale, you're supporting my thesis that World War II is still not over.
SPEAKER_01No, Stuart, you you no no, you're you're mixing, you're you're you're you're once again, you're you're mixing it. I was very specific. Let's talk about ideology. Let's talk about it. Listen to what I'm saying. Listen to what I'm saying. You're not listening. In that region, I only said that region, I didn't say in Europe, I didn't say in South America, I said in that region. I didn't talk about Germany, I talked about Iran. I talked about a terrorist state. Listen, Stuart, when you have people who celebrate publicly death, the Nazis didn't do it that way. So don't compare to me what Germany did and what Iran is doing. Iran is on a different level. Hezbollah and Hamas are on a different level. Different level. Germany did not, you know, if you're sitting here and comparing the two, then yeah, let's do that very quickly. Germany, you got rid of Hitler, you got rid of all of the people, and you realized, and the people recognized, you absolutely annihilate, you cut every head of every snake. You didn't do that here. You cut a few of them, but you didn't get them all. And not only did you not get them all, Germany was crippled, brought to its knees. You destroyed Berlin, Munich, you destroyed the country physically. You didn't do it here. So when you sit here and you're comparing the two, Germany, it's a different game. Iran, you scratched them. Yeah, you may have hurt them, but you didn't finish them off. And that, with my friend, is the one thing that I'm struggling with today. Because you know who's gonna pay the price for this? Israel. Because the United States could sit back and say, look, we did great, but Israel will continue to get attacked by Hezbollah. You don't think that you think the drones are gonna stop? You think the missiles are gonna stop? You don't think they're gonna try to rearm Hamas? You're blind if you believe that this is over. It ain't over. It ain't over, David.
SPEAKER_00And we're we're we're we're gonna get close to wrapping this
Peace Versus Appeasement In 60 Days
SPEAKER_00up. In 1938, Neville Neville Chamberlain flew home from Munich and waved a piece of paper in the air and told the world he achieved peace.
SPEAKER_01Peace in our times. That was what he said. That's his famous quote.
SPEAKER_00And immediately following, Hitler laughed, invaded Poland. I want you to hold this image in your mind, David, because this is exactly what I'm alluding to. If the Iranian people don't get control of the IRGC, I agree with you. That's more likely than not what the outcome will be. But let me be clear what I'm not saying. I'm not saying Donald Trump is necessarily Neville Chamberlain. I'm not saying this deal is doomed to fail. What I'm saying is the regime on the other side has never been at a table in 47 years. Nazi Germany told you who they were, my Kumpf, printed, published, sold in stores, and the West looked away. Iran has told you who they are for 47 years. Their supreme leader called Israel a cancerous tumor that must be eliminated. The IRGC is designated as a terrorist organization by everyone, pretty much. I don't know about Canada, but at least the United States. It funded Hamas, it funded Hezbollah, and these organizations have a single purpose is to destroy and kill Jews and the state of Israel. There's no hyperbole, David. It's just what it is. I agree sending $25 billion of assets to that regime before the treaty is signed, even if the treaty is signed, is a critical error. However, the agreement that Iran is bad for Israel is a true statement. I don't think it's good for the free world. I don't think it delivered very much of anything. But you need a pathway to get somewhere. And to line everyone up with a firing squad also didn't work. Because you said, and I will quote, we killed every single one of them off in Germany, murdered them all, yet the neo-Nazi Party still exists in the United States and in Europe today, and operates with impunity. And moreover, I would have an episode with you drawing reference from the Ayatollah to the Nazi Party, which dates to the 1920s. Chamberlain had a piece of paper. We have truth social. The difference between peace and appeasement is an announcement. I like you have to sit here, as do millions of Israelis, to see what happens in the next sixty days. But there's little or nothing that's gonna happen. And to be honest with you, I hope nothing happens. Because that would be the first step towards anything. Find a way to be part of a solution is what the world has to try and figure out. Telling us the problems isn't gonna give anyone resolve. Sorry.
SPEAKER_01You don't agree. No, no, no, no, no. The problem is, Stuart, you didn't listen either. You're blank, you're excusing me of not listening. You didn't listen to a damn thing if you're telling me I'm still part of the problem. I gave you the solution. It's not a pretty one, it's not a popular one, but it's a one that we know in that neck of the woods works. If you want to continue to believe that this is like, you know what, Stuart? Where you where you miss where you got it right and got it wrong was yeah, they got rid of the Nazi ideology didn't go away, but you got rid of the massive problem. What you did here, you're not gonna get rid of terrorism. Oh, you're not you're not gonna get rid of terrorism, and you're not gonna get rid of people who want to get rid of Israel. That's not changing, and you're not gonna change people certain people who want to get rid of the United States. But there are millions of Iranians today that are living under a babot of a regime and can't live in peace and freedom. You promised them help, you promised them help, and you reneged. You gave the IRGC money, you've unfrozen assets to rebuild and to re-you didn't do what you said you were going to do, and to sit there and say, Well, we have to try a different path, Stuart. You still put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig, and that my friend continues to be the problem.
SPEAKER_00Wrap
Final Clash And Sign Off
SPEAKER_00it up, and I'll I'll wrap it up with you because you don't like my home today.
SPEAKER_01So just wrap it up.
SPEAKER_00I don't care.
SPEAKER_01Say goodbye to our friends, okay?
SPEAKER_00You know, just stop talking, just say goodbye. He just wants me to do this, he just wants me to do this.
