Keir Starmer Falls and the Left Still Doesn’t Get It
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
“When your country keeps changing prime ministers faster than you change your phone plan, it’s not leadership — it’s chaos.” This episode of The Rany Network dives into the political implosion of the UK’s Labour Party after Keir Starmer’s resignation, exposing how the progressive playbook of “go woke, go broke” has backfired across the West. From Britain’s economic stagnation and immigration crisis to Canada’s censorship creep and America’s ideological tug‑of‑war, our rant connects the dots between failing left‑wing experiments and the voters finally waking up. Stuart and David tear into the illusion of competence, the hypocrisy of “compassionate” borders, and the lipstick‑on‑a‑pig politics that keep recycling the same broken promises under new faces. The message is clear: when ideology replaces reality, the people always pay the price.

Rumor Turns Into Resignation
SPEAKER_01You wake up this morning to hear the crazy news in the UK, or well, actually, it's not really true. Last week at the G7, Mr. Trump loved to break the news. He should maybe he should have been immediate the way he tried to break the news. He said Keir Starmer was going to resign, and everybody's like, Oh, there's Trumpy again. There's Trumpy again. Can't keep his mouth shut. Well, as you woke up this morning in the West, at least in the Northern America, you heard that Prime Minister Keir Starmer is stepping down as labor leader. And folks, I was in London in February. And Stuart, I gotta tell you, the rumblings were terrifyingly bad. People were so pissed off. He'd lost a whole bunch of elections. Labor lost a lot of elections. And you know, Stuart, we talked about this in one other rant. The Democrats are take trying to take a playbook from the Labor Party of the UK. Really, it's very much the same playbook. Go further left, go socialist, go broke. Or wait, I mean, sorry, make your country go broke. Sorry, that's what I meant to say. And it just seems to be that they think that this is the way to power and that the people will love it and embrace it. Oops. Ask Keir Starmer, he's by the way, seventh prime minister in 10 years in the UK. It's a little bit screwed up. But Stuart, to me, I think this is a message to the Democrats. Wake the hell up.
The Progressive Playbook Hits Reality
SPEAKER_00Oh, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced his resignation as leader of the governing party of the Labor Party. After two years in power, one of the shortest tenures of any prime minister in modern British history. Andy Burnham, mayor, the mayor of Greater Manchester Labor's most popular political figure, has announced he will seek the PM job and immediately secure a key rival endorsement, positioning himself as their party's appearant. All right. Keir Starmer is what you get when a country gets seduced by progressive left promises that if you just put the rice technocratic in charge, well-spoken, credentialed, branded carefully, everything will be fine. It wasn't fine, it collapsed in two years. Starmer ran on a platform of competence over ideology, and he delivered neither. The British electorate tried the left's answer and it failed. So that's his own party, pushed him out the door before the second anniversary. Wow. Little Kearney's future, maybe. This is the globalist progressive playbook hitting the wall. And it's the same wall that every Biden, every Trudeau, every left-wing establishment figure is going to hit because you cannot gaslight working class voters forever. You can't tell people that open borders are compassionate while they can't afford the rent. You can't lecture on climate morality while their energy bills destroy them. Starber Shy. And I I guess it's ding-dong, the witch is dead. And note who's positioned to replace them. The none other of Andy Burnham, who's also a labor left-winger, meaning the British left has learned absolutely nothing. They're not purging the ideology, they're just changing the face of the box.
Labor’s Gaza Rift And Antisemitism
SPEAKER_00David, our famous expression is let's stick out a pig, baby. Starmer's tenure was marked by deep internal labor uh civil war over Israel and Gaza. That's the blame, at least. The party spent years fastening under Jeremy Corbin's overt anti-Semitism, never fully exercised the rot Starmer came in promising to clean the house, clean house on labor Jew hatred problems. But the Gaza War ripped through those wounds again, and he spent two years being pulled apart by pro-Hamas fractions inside his own clown caucus. Jewish labor members and donors fled. His moral authority on anti-Semitism was perpetually undermined by his own backbenchers. His resignation doesn't just end his career, it raises the urgent question of whether the Labor Party, which whichever face leads to it next, will remain a safe political home for Britain's Jewish community. Given that Andy Byrne made his bones as a Manchester politician during years of community tension that include sharp anti-Israel activism. It's not a question, and it's not rhetorical. It's just stating the facts, David. You know, so let's go. Two years one, right? It took for the British public to torch progressive experiment. Here, Starmer was supposed to be the adult in the room, competent serious, post-korbin clean. He lasted less than the presidential term. Starmer stepped down as labor leader on the 22nd, which is today. Not even through a full parliamentary cycle. After internal party pressures made it untenable. This isn't a graceful exit, everybody. This is called a political objection. You remember James Bond, that magic scene? Well, the British, yeah, they fired him the fuck off. All right. This hits real people in Bristol, Birmingham, Belfast, the three Bs, and not one of them is Brisgold. People who were promised that the grown-ups had taken over from Corbin's chaos. Instead, they got two years of economic stagnation, immigration chaos, and a leader so consumed by his attorney party's welfare, he couldn't even govern it because he was an invertebrate. Sound familiar? Hi, President Biden. Do I look like I'm stoned? Yeah. Hi. All right. The media will be the line. This is just internal labor politics. Leadership's reshuffling doesn't mean left has failed. Burnham is simply more electable, more retallible labor leader. No, no, nothing. Look here. Everything is fine. That's the media line. Here's why that falls apart. The argument that labor just needs a friendlier face ignores why Starmer failed. He didn't fall because of a single scandal or bad speech. He fell because of his policy sucks in. And on the economy of immigration and energy, it produced results that voters wanted to reject him and eject him. Swapping Starmer for Burnham while keeping the same labor platform is like replacing the captain of the Titanic after it hit the iceberg. The problem isn't the captain, it's the ship. You know, cold line, right? Starmer just became the latest proof that you can't run a country on credentials and vibes and progressive bumper sinkers. The British people handed him power back under 730 days ago. You know, look. David, we joke about little Marky Kearney, right? Trudeau's arc. Right? Trudeau Justin clung to power after the death warrant was signaled. Starmer at least had dignity to go when he was pushed. But the but the pattern is identical. Left-wing leaders who come promising to restore serious governance, deliberate economic pain, immigration dysfunction, and cultural warfare, and got destroyed. Canada just lived through this. Britain, you know, just lived through this. When does the West get the memo? You know, because like the stat, you know, Prime Minister Keir Starmer stepped down as leader, right? Andy Burnham takes over, most popular. I mean, like, I don't get it. Like, I and now you got little Marky Kearney who's like, you know, the British ambassador, or I don't know what ambassador, what corporate entity he's trying to flog next. But it's like, David. What's up?
SPEAKER_01So, so so you you brought up a lot of things in there.
Brexit Voters And Slogan Politics
SPEAKER_01And let me let me just give you a little bit of insight, okay? This is 10 years of shit in the United in the United Kingdom. When they when the United Kingdom, just to show you how smart some of these voters are in the United Kingdom, let me remind you of something called Brexit. 10 years ago, Britain was part of the United the European Union, and it went to a referendum, a national referendum. Do we leave or do we stay as part of the European Union, otherwise known as Brexit? And the vote was leave. And do you know what the number one search term was the next day in Google Stewart? No. What does Brexit mean? And to show you how smart these voters were, is that they voted for something they didn't understand. And that is the UK. That has become the general electorate, not understanding what they're voting for. They went for flashy terms, flashy catchphrases, slogans that sound great. Let me tell you, the Conservative Party had run for years, Stewart, in the United Kingdom, and screwed up really badly. Like one prime minister after another. This is like the they're losing them faster than Joe Biden's losing his memory. It's not even funny how fast this is going in the UK. And it's another prime minister again and again and again. But here's what's different. You said it, Keir Starmer was voted in with a majority. Forget about a majority, it was the second largest majority since World War II. Because the conservatives were so screwed up, and the reform party was just trying to figure things out. Greens were out there, like it was so screwed up. You had a chance, he had a slam dunk. The population basically, in a massive wave, said, Out with these dumb dumb conservatives, and they were dumb dumb conservatives, in with this new labor party, because the slogan sounded great. Keir Starmer checked off the box for the Jewish community. You know why? His wife is Jewish, so the Jewish community went, Oh, he's gonna be good, and the Muslim community said, Oh, he's in favor of open immigration, he's gonna be good, and all these promises we're gonna tax the rich, we're gonna do all these things, all these famous slogans, all these wonderful things, these promises that they can never keep. Brits rebelled. Why? Because they're fed up. Kitchen table politics store, kitchen table topics that we've talked about many years here at the Rat Network. What do people effectively want? At the end of the day, it's their pocketbooks, it's what they get to take home, it's their livelihood. And Brits noticed little by little they were losing money, and they could blame Trumpy, which was great Keir Starmer's famous thing, just like Carney. Everything that's wrong in the UK has got to be Trump's fault. The Brits figured it out. The Labour Party did exactly what the Liberal Party of Canada did a little over a year and a half ago, Stuart. Good old Trudeau, as you called him out, stuck to power way too long. He spent way more power time in power than good old stupid little, you know, like Starmer did. But at the end, the party ate its own. The party went after Trudeau said, We're gonna lose an election, just like Starmer is in 2029, is the next election in the UK. And Nigel Farage, who's the head of the reform party, not exactly your not exactly a shining uh star either, in terms of how he is towards people. He has some really rough-edged policies, but it looked way better than the conservatives, and it looks way better than the liberals and the greens. You can only go so far with that socialism. So they decided now let's go change poly power, just change now leaders because you said afloat. The Democratic Party is going through that right now. You guys are continuously spewing out the slogans that you think is going to win you an election. You're giving each other high fives because every time Trump does something, you know, you use terms like, oh, it's taco again, right? Hey, it's taco again. You keep doing this again, you keep thinking that if you blame Trump, you will win an election. At the end of the day, it comes down to the same kitchen table questions. Immigration is a massive problem in the UK. There were these incredible, not only just not rebellions, but like protests, excuse me, against immigration. You've had outright murder, and you see the reaction of the people in Northern Ireland, for example, who were reacting to the these the immigrants who are coming in bringing in their shit from their country into the United Kingdom, ruining Manchester, with all due respect to Mr. Burnham. Manchester is not a beacon of hope in terms of all the stuff that you just referred to. Okay, and it's one thing to run a city, it's another thing to run a country that is a complete mix. Keir Starmer failed, and it doesn't look like Mr. Burnham's gonna be much better in the next couple of years. So, watch out, UK. What you're about to get right now is a is a real scary thing, and Stuart. But let me finish this up, please. With the Democrats, that's gotta be your message. Stop ignoring. Listen, I don't want the Democrats in. I'll say that right here, right now, because I think you guys are as messed up as this the Labor Party of the UK. But if you want to win an election, look carefully at what's going on in the UK and in other countries. You're next.
America’s 2024 Reset And Working Class
SPEAKER_00Joe Biden won the White House on promises 2020 that the adults were back in charge. Remember in the room, yeah, right? Yeah, his party controlled the House, the Senate, and the Oval Office. They had everything. And what did they do with it? Remember, all three branches were all Biden's bozos. They opened up a southern border and called it compassion. They lit inflammation or inflation, sorry, on fire with reckless spending, and they called it investment. They gutted the military with DEI mandates and called it readiness. And by the way, the head of the military in Britain resigned last week. They covered up the president's congenitive or congenitive decline or cognitive, cognitive, cognitive. Thank you, thank you. My notes, David, my notes. And you know what else is really funny? There's a whistleblower who's gonna come out and say, who was the puppet master? Finally, we're gonna know who was pulling that bozo strings. It's not Jim Henson. Oh, he's dead, sorry. And and and they called it stability. This all sounds familiar in Britain and Canada. Here's a difference between Britain and America. America had a mechanical fix. It's called the election of 2024. The American working class, black voters, Hispanic voters, union household, suburban women looked at four years of progressive governance and said the orangutan is the tang guy that I want to vote for. He won because the woke project failed. Now, New York is on a double down right now. But I think that's gonna take 24 months. Britain didn't get a chance to clean break it. They used a recycling bin, right? That's Andy Burnham's recycling bin. It's a new face, same position, same ideology. America got out. Britain's still burning the buildings, debating which firefighter to blame. Kind of like what's going on in Canada.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, no, no. We're not no, no, no. I'll tell you why you're that's not in Canada, and you'll see this in the US too.
Media Control And Free Speech Fears
SPEAKER_01Maybe if you have a little bit of insights, Dort and research, and you did a little homework, like we always talk about here, you discover the truth, but if you rely on social media, traditional media, the left could do no wrong, democrats can do no wrong, liberals can do no wrong. The labor party, BBC, even in the UK, was trying to figure out how to make sure that the Labor Party could do no wrong.
SPEAKER_00Listen, because because the left likes bumper stickers and likes controls the the media and and Canada controls the internet. You see, you don't have free, fair internet in Canada anymore.
SPEAKER_01I know Stuart, and believe you me, what I'm doing here on the RAN network, theoretically, a lot of crap can happen. Free speech isn't free speech here, folks. This is what this is what the left is trying to do. And by the way, Trudeau started this. Trudeau started this, and a lot of nations are were watching. Could we get away with with clamping down? And so, who's the real threat to democracy again, Stuart?
SPEAKER_00Justin Trudeau. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You can't rebrand woke, you can't govern it.
SPEAKER_01No, they don't want to call it woke, Stuart, anymore because we bitched about it, we've torn it apart. The left is trying to rebrand itself, but at the end of the day, Stuart, what did you say about my pig? Lipstick on a pig, bitch. That's all it is. Look, at the end of the day, Stuart, I love the fact that New York thought it was smarter than everybody else. At the end of the day, Mamdani, Kirstarmer, they're all wolves in sheep's clothing. Just remember that. When someone promises you like that, and then you see the exact opposite happen, that's what I'm talking about we're talking about here. It's not about left, not about Democrat versus Republicans. Shit, it's about deliverables. Okay, you may hate Trump and you could be, and I wouldn't tell you you're wrong, but when you look at what he's done with immigration, and all you want to do is I think Stuart, the best line came from the left. I don't know if you heard this. I don't know where we're going a little off the the the script here. But do you did you hear the Democrat? And I can't remember her name, who said, you know, it's what what ICE is doing is unfair because all you're doing is picking on illegal immigrants. I thought that was the greatest line of all. Like I never heard something so stupid in my life. What do you think ICE's job is? Say that one more time. That this Democrat was angry because the ICE was picking on illegal immigrants. That it wasn't fair. So I'm sitting here and I'm thinking, what? That's what you have on the left. This is your labor party in the UK, this is the Democrats in the United States, this is the Liberal Party of Canada. You've got these people who sit there and make statements like that, who are trying to. There's not a it's not about putting food on the table, it's not about lowering your cost of living, it's not about getting rid of crime, it's not about trying to secure your borders. And that's what, by the way, the UK really flipped on because of Brexit, because of everything, the the fact that the immigration is off the charts. By the way, Stuart, London has become one of the least safest cities in the world because of the crime and what's going on there, and it's related to immigration. What happened in Manchester? The amount of now anti-Semitism in Manchester under Burnham's watch is off the charts. Okay, it actually makes some of American cities look like nothing's going wrong. It's quite frightening, and I was there. It's not a good situation right now. And Keir Starmer, enjoy the vacation, buddy. You're gonna get away with it. You're gonna get out of 10 Downing Street in by mid-July, a few more weeks, you know? And that's the way it is. The left likes to eat its own, the left likes to kill its own. And at the end of the day, who suffers? The voter. You, the voter, suffer. So remember as you go to the ballot box, come to November. What are you gonna do? Let's wrap it up, Stu.
SPEAKER_00All right, all right,
Voting Warning And Quick Wrap
SPEAKER_00all right. Well, everybody, every Monday ones at noon Eastern. We rattle it off and uh sometimes take a quarter hour, but you know, our little mini clips are just so much fun. And by the way, we enjoy the love of the messages. Let me tell you something the intelligence on the planet is being rated on the camera zero.
SPEAKER_01Can I give a shout out to the paid, solos paid haters out there who are commenting on us? Thank you so much. Still work. Let's say goodbye.
