Last week, we podcasted about the new National Minimum and National Living Wage Rates and provided you with the rates, to check against your own wage slips. But, as is tradition when it comes to the new wage rates in April of every year, this podcast episode focuses on the new list of employers who have been prosecuted for not paying the correct wage rates.
If you are not paid in accordance with the law, please do not suffer in silence. Try to resolve things as best you can, but if your efforts fail - get support to sort things out. Your starting point is to contact ACAS, who are the government’s representative agency dealing with this matter. There is an ACAS link in these show notes.
It's our view, that the more you are able to acquaint yourself with your employment rights in this area, the more your rights will act as an early warning system, which you can use to spot bad treatment or illegal treatment that you may be suffering at work.
