Hi there.

Last week we talked about everything YOU can do, practically and personally, to improve your chances of getting back into work when you have a criminal record. This week we explore the employment rights and legal protections that exist - to stop employers from simply shutting the door on you and denying you that job, just because you have a criminal conviction.

In this episode, we look at The Rehavilitation Of Offenders Act, Data Protection and GDPR and the use of Blanket Ban policies to prevent you from getting that job, when you have a spent criminal conviction. The law is not perfect and there are gaps. But the protections that exist are real and you can use them if you believe you have been treated unfairly.

Our FREE ‘WRITE IT DOWN’ Bullying Guide and Grievance Complaints Checklist are available here, to support you.  Use these guides to help you challenge unfair treatment at work.

We also have our detailed handbook Grievance Procedures: How To Use Grievance Procedures to Make Complaints and Challenge Unfair Treatment At Work’, which is available on Amazon, and will help you with your Grievance in a step by step way.

Until next week

Have the best employment rights week that you can!

Bye for now
