WEBVTT

00:00:00.921 --> 00:00:09.394
<v Speaker 1>Welcome to March 28, 18 to 20, where we bring you stories and experiences from the mission field.

00:00:09.394 --> 00:00:16.233
<v Speaker 1>My name is Maureen Nyambura and I serve in the missions department in Parklands Baptist Church.

00:00:16.233 --> 00:00:21.091
<v Speaker 1>I champion a pillar called the New Frontiers.

00:00:21.091 --> 00:00:31.350
<v Speaker 1>This is where we reach out to the unreached people who have not been reached by the gospel of Jesus Christ, and we expose the gospel of Jesus Christ to them.

00:00:31.350 --> 00:00:43.750
<v Speaker 1>Today, allow me to share an experience that I had in the mission field when I went to visit prisoners in Jamuhuri.

00:00:44.152 --> 00:00:45.715
<v Speaker 1>In Jamuhuri men's prison.

00:00:45.715 --> 00:01:08.781
<v Speaker 1>This is a day that we went to spend time with prisoners and they were so eager to receive us and hungry for God's word, and one of the experiences or one of the highlights in this mission was that the men were so eager to receive Jesus Christ.

00:01:08.781 --> 00:01:12.246
<v Speaker 1>Overall, we were able to.

00:01:12.246 --> 00:01:16.614
<v Speaker 1>I mean, 18 souls came to the kingdom of God.

00:01:16.614 --> 00:01:51.551
<v Speaker 1>What stood out for me was the ripple effect of how the inmates responded to the message, even after we had left, when we went back to do the discipleship program which we are commanded in Matthew 28, where the Bible tells us Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

00:01:51.551 --> 00:02:05.728
<v Speaker 1>So when we went back now to do the teaching which we call discipleship, there was a ripple effect of the word that we had shared during that mission and more inmates kept getting saved.

00:02:05.728 --> 00:02:13.688
<v Speaker 1>By the time we were finishing with the discipleship, more souls had come to the kingdom of God.

00:02:13.688 --> 00:02:14.865
<v Speaker 1>Double the number.

00:02:14.865 --> 00:02:20.060
<v Speaker 1>We had like 36 inmates giving their lives to Christ.

00:02:20.741 --> 00:02:26.393
<v Speaker 1>So in the mission field is where we get to witness Jesus at work.

00:02:26.393 --> 00:02:34.213
<v Speaker 1>We are at the forefront of this mission and we get to experience the power of Jesus at work.

00:02:34.213 --> 00:02:38.007
<v Speaker 1>I would like to encourage each and every one of us.

00:02:38.007 --> 00:02:41.033
<v Speaker 1>When you hear that there is a mission, there is an outreach.

00:02:41.033 --> 00:02:46.861
<v Speaker 1>When the missions department announces Plug in.

00:02:46.861 --> 00:02:48.688
<v Speaker 1>And you can plug in three ways.

00:02:48.688 --> 00:02:54.520
<v Speaker 1>You can either pray, you can either go or you can give In.

00:02:54.520 --> 00:02:59.872
<v Speaker 1>Either way that you choose to engage in the mission, there's no superior way.

00:02:59.872 --> 00:03:04.532
<v Speaker 1>You will be reaching out to a soul which is lost out there.

00:03:04.532 --> 00:03:05.782
<v Speaker 1>You will be reaching out to a soul which is lost out there.

00:03:05.782 --> 00:03:12.193
<v Speaker 1>Have a blessed time as you prepare and plan to engage in the mission work, baraka.
