as we interact with the word. 00:03:16.719 --> 00:03:22.479 A limiting confession, a liberating confession, a life-changing testimony. 00:03:22.719 --> 00:03:25.360 First of all, a limiting confession. 00:03:25.680 --> 00:03:38.960 The man in verse 7 of John 5 said in his own words here, Sir, the invalid replied, I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is turned. 00:03:39.280 --> 00:03:45.520 While I'm trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me. 00:03:45.759 --> 00:03:50.240 He says, I have no one to help me. 00:03:50.800 --> 00:04:00.319 Let me speak to somebody and say that the confession you make limits, could limit your destiny. 00:04:00.400 --> 00:04:08.800 The word limit means confining, restricting, reducing, holding back. 00:04:09.120 --> 00:04:14.719 Let me repeat again: confining, restricting, reducing, holding back. 00:04:15.439 --> 00:04:24.879 A lot of people walk with a with a restricted belief, or what you call a limiting that you speak could limit your, you know, limit where you go, could limit the blessing that is coming in your direction, could limit what God wants to do in your life. 00:05:33.600 --> 00:05:35.839 He was focusing on a man. 00:05:36.399 --> 00:05:40.639 And his confession was saying, I have no man. 00:05:41.439 --> 00:05:44.480 God wants us to begin to confess. 00:05:45.439 --> 00:05:50.879 Confessions that don't focus on man, but focus on what God can do. 00:05:51.279 --> 00:05:56.240 Man has a limit, as you can see in this text, to what he can do. 00:05:56.480 --> 00:05:58.800 And so he's waiting on a man. 00:05:59.040 --> 00:06:03.040 He's waiting on a human being to help him get into the water. 00:06:03.120 --> 00:06:14.480 And he waits one year, two years, three years, four years, five years, ten years, twenty years, goes on all the way to 38 years. 00:06:14.800 --> 00:06:23.279 I want to say that we need to need to get to a place where we make a confession that is based who trusts whose trust is in man. 00:06:35.199 --> 00:06:46.959 A warning against making human strength, human systems, or even our own abilities the ultimate source of security, while turning our hearts away from God. 00:06:47.439 --> 00:06:57.519 Psalms chapter 20 and verse 7 says, Some trust in chariots, others trust in horses, but I trust, I will trust in the name of the Lord. 00:06:57.759 --> 00:07:03.759 Proverbs 3, verse 5 and 6 says the following You know, trust in the Lord with all your heart. 00:07:04.000 --> 00:07:06.160 Lean not on your own understanding. 00:07:06.399 --> neither does he slumber. 00:07:24.000 --> 00:07:29.680 A limiting confession is a confession that goes man size. 00:07:30.480 --> 00:07:35.279 But God wants us to look beyond what man can do for you. can use people to reach you, God can make people to make a difference in your life. 00:07:50.639 --> 00:07:53.920 But our confession must be God's size. 00:07:54.319 --> 00:07:58.240 It must be focused on the God who is more than able. 00:07:58.480 --> 00:08:05.519 Ephesians 3 20 says, God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or even imagine. 00:08:05.839 --> 00:08:10.639 Matthew 19, verse 26 says, with man this is impossible. 00:08:11.439 --> 00:08:15.360 Matthew 19, verse 26, with man this is impossible. 00:08:15.680 --> 00:08:18.959 But with God all things are possible. 00:08:19.120 --> 00:08:20.959 Let's let's read that verse together. 00:08:21.279 --> 00:08:30.560 Jesus looked at them and said, With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. 00:08:30.800 --> 00:08:33.519 And uh so he's encountering Jesus. 00:08:33.679 --> 00:08:45.440 There is a divine visitation, heaven offers him something, but he starts getting into this uh story here, and he's making all kinds of uh confessions. 00:08:45.600 --> 00:08:50.799 And let me say, you cannot continually declare defeat and expect victory. 00:08:51.039 --> 00:08:53.440 And today we can make a declaration. 00:08:53.759 --> 00:08:58.799 I refuse to be defined by my limitation, I will be defined by God's word. 00:08:59.039 --> 00:09:00.000 Hallelujah. 00:09:00.240 --> 00:09:03.360 I will be defined by God's word. 00:09:04.240 --> 00:09:09.919 Now you know Africa has looked up to the north, south, east, and west for its help. 00:09:10.639 --> It is like somebody who keeps applying for jobs and uh you keep getting regrets, and the story of your life is regret after regret after regret. 00:10:00.159 --> 00:10:09.519 I am here to say and connect you with heaven in Jesus' name that that regret cycle and journey is broken in Jesus' name. 00:10:09.840 --> 00:10:19.519 God is opening the gates, and God is coming through for you, and God is going to do something uh you have never ever imagined. 00:10:19.840 --> 00:10:28.320 And so, a limiting confession, bringing about delay, even of blessing, and bringing delay of a breakthrough. confession or limiting confession, they stayed for about 40 years, and they went in circles like this for a long time, simply because of a limiting confession. 00:10:51.279 --> 00:11:00.480 It says, Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it. 00:11:00.639 --> 00:11:02.799 That is Caleb, positive confession. Philip, Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat? 00:13:46.480 --> 00:13:53.679 Philip, who is a man, Jesus asked him, and he asked him only to test him, for he already knew uh what he had in mind to do. 00:13:53.840 --> 00:14:03.120 Philip answered in verse 7, It would take more than half a year's wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite. 00:14:03.440 --> 00:14:10.159 Then in maybe you are the one, three days, you never moved out because you are trapped, you know, in a circumstance, and even depression was encroaching in your life. 00:16:25.519 --> 00:16:32.159 Or somebody
