Parklands Baptist Church's Podcast
May Week 1 Theme Vision: Speak Life: Transforming Your Reality
Discover the revolutionary power of your words in this transformative exploration of "Uncommon Utterances: Spirit-Led Speech." Deacon Kennedy Rapando guides us through a simple yet profound three-step approach that can reshape your reality through intentional, Spirit-guided communication.
Your words aren't just expressions—they're declarations that actively create your experience. Unfortunately, most of us have fallen into patterns of speech that reinforce limitations rather than possibilities. This teaching reveals how to identify those common utterances that have become invisible barriers in your personal life, family dynamics, and even national identity. Whether it's habitually claiming "I never have enough money," accepting generational illness as inevitable, or resigning to corruption as unchangeable, these speech patterns silently determine what's possible for you.
The path to transformation begins with awareness but truly flourishes when you replace limiting declarations with uncommon utterances—powerful, faith-filled statements aligned with deeper spiritual truths. But Deacon Rapando takes us further, showing how inviting the Holy Spirit into our speech elevates our words from mere positive thinking to divinely empowered declarations. Learn to speak in three vital directions: inward (transforming your self-talk), outward (declaring life over your environment), and upward (engaging God with authority and expectation).
Ready to harness the creative power of your words? This teaching provides practical steps to break free from limiting speech patterns and speak life into existence. Your words can become weapons against circumstance, tools of transformation, and vessels of divine intervention. Join us in this month of uncommon utterances and watch as your Spirit-led speech begins to reshape everything it touches.

Praise the Lord Church. I'm Deacon Kennedy Rapando, deacon at Parklands Baptist Church. It's an honor for me just to be here to start us off on this month of May. It is my honor to welcome you, invite you into a wonderful month, the month of uncommon utterances, spirit-led speech. We have come through a wonderful season, a wonderful time of us looking at the greatness of the Lord in every sphere, in every area of our lives, concerning the impartation of the Spirit leading us. And so in this year we've been talking about the year of the Lord's uncommon, spirit-led impartation. And this month, as we talk about uncommon utterances, the Spirit-led speech, we are invited to a time of looking into the ways we speak, the ways we think, the ways we do our things. And so the Bible says as a man thinketh, so is he. So what we think is what we speak. The Bible also says that whatever defiles a man is nothing that goes into him, but everything that he speaks out of his mouth. So we need to be conscious of everything that comes out of our mouths as we speak this month. And so, while thinking through this, I divided my statements into three main points of action. So action number one on uncommon utterances we need to identify what is uncommon, what is common For us to do uncommon things. We need to identify what is common. So, in our daily speech, what are the things that we say to ourselves, to our families, to our nation, to our church that is common? That's where we start. So, as an assignment to you, a member of Parklands Baple Church, a member of the body of Christ in the nation of Kenya, a member who is following us from all over the world, this is what I want to charge you to do Go through this month the things that you do commonly, things that you say commonly.
Speaker 1:As an individual, the common thing that I might say to myself is that I, like I lack finances in doing this. Uh, this is my sickness. The high blood pressure that I have is my sickness. That is something common that you've. You've gotten used to saying so. Identify those items and note them down so that you're able to, when we come to a time of saying uncommon utterances, there's something common that you've identified that you can change. So that is point number one For your individual life, for the family you live in, for the church you are at, for the nation that you live in, identify the common utterances that have been made that you need to speak against.
Speaker 1:For example, as Kenya, we say that we are a corrupt nation. There is nothing we can change concerning corruption. So that is the common thing that we identify, we note it down and say number two the uncommon utterances. As an individual, you come back and say I want to change the common things that I've identified for them to be uncommon. So if it is corruption, you say say no more corruption in the nation of Kenya. If it is sickness in your family, you say because I have identified that this is a sickness that has been there from generation to generation. If it is diabetes, if it is cancer, if it is whatever kind of disease that has been there in your family, you identify it and say the uncommon utterance is that by the stripes of the Lord we are healed. So that is point number two Identify the common, then identify the uncommon way of changing the common.
Speaker 1:Then, number three having done the uncommon utterance in your own way, that is where the spirit-led speech comes in. Now you invite the Lord into your situation, you invite the Lord into your boat, you invite the Lord into your family, into this speech that you've identified, since you've identified that there's corruption in the nation of Kenya. You say now, lord, come in, I invite you into this boat, the boat of corruption. May you turn it around on my behalf. May you turn it around on our behalf of you, turn it around on our behalf of the people of Kenya. You say that if my people were called by your name, you invite the Lord into that situation and he turns it around for us, the Lord coming in into our situation, the Lord coming into the speech that you are speaking.
Speaker 1:So, on matters speaking in an uncommon way, there are uncommon utterances. It is the Spirit coming in, and that's why there is a caption in this man that says Spirit-led speech. Spirit guiding you on what to say, on what to think, on what to do and on what to speak out into the world. What to say, on what to think, on what to do and on what to speak out into the world. So there are three areas that I want you to speak into the world. Area number one speak inwards, speak to yourself, identify the common things, uncommon things, and then speak to yourself.
Speaker 1:Area number two speak outwards, speak to the environment, speak to the nation, speak to the church concerning the uncommon utterance that the Lord has put in your heart.
Speaker 1:And then there's area number three speak upwards, speak towards the God. You are able to instruct the Lord concerning the things that are happening around you. So you have been given a wonderful and amazing month of utterance, an amazing month of speaking to the Lord, and I believe God is going to empower you to be able to speak into those situations and change the ways around us for the Lord. So three areas speak inwards. Speak outwards, to the environment and to the people around you, and speak towards the Lord, who has given us an invitation. He says if my people, who are called by my name, we are called by his name, if I am looking for a man who will stand in the gap concerning the land, we are the people God has seen standing in the gap concerning the land. Then he says call unto me and I will answer you and show you mighty and great things, which you do not. We do not call unto God by not speaking out. We speak out to our God, who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all you can ask or imagine.
Speaker 1:So I'm looking forward to a wonderful month of May. I believe God is in the midst of us, making sure that he is going to make everything fall into our place on his behalf. So, lord, we thank you, we worship you as you usher us into this month of May. Lord, I know you have taken over. You have taken over our mindsets, you have taken over our thoughts, because our thoughts are not your thoughts. Lord, you have downloaded your thoughts in us and we're going to speak out to the areas that we have mentioned areas inwards to ourselves, outwards to our environment and speak words to you, because you are able to do it for us. In Jesus' name, we pray Amen, thank you.
