Have you ever felt stuck waiting for God's promises to materialize? "Positioned to Receive" breaks down the spiritual principles that create a pathway for divine provision in your life. Drawing from Abraham's extraordinary 25-year journey of faith, we discover how perseverance through seemingly impossible circumstances leads to the fulfillment of God's promises.

At the core of receiving from God lies three fundamental positioning tools we all possess. First, God's Word establishes the foundation—those unchangeable promises that, unlike human words, can be "taken to the bank." Second, unwavering faith keeps us anchored through waiting seasons. Like Abraham who "did not weaken in faith" despite his hundred-year-old body being "as good as dead," our consistent belief positions us for breakthrough. Finally, our actions demonstrate readiness to receive. The powerful illustration of carrying an umbrella before rain appears challenges us to behave as though we've already received what we're believing for.

The widow's story in 2 Kings 4 beautifully illustrates these principles in action. Facing overwhelming debt after her husband's death, she followed the prophet's instructions to gather empty jars from neighbors. Her faithful actions—preparing for abundance despite having only a small amount of oil—positioned her for a miracle that not only paid her debts but sustained her family. What empty jars do you need to gather today? What umbrella do you need to carry in sunshine? Your positioning determines your receiving. Ask, seek, knock—God's storehouse of blessings awaits those positioned to receive.

Speaker 1:

Hallelujah, I bring you God's word, titled Positioned to Receive. Positioned to Receive this is an amazing word for us today, and I pray that you would be positioned to receive, because God has so much in store for you and also for what you need to serve him. For what you need to serve him, in fact, 1 Corinthians 2, verse 9 and 10, says what no eye has seen, no ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, god has prepared for those who love him and therefore God, in his storehouse, has so much for you. You need to position yourself to receive from God. There is a man in the Bible who positioned himself to receive. His name is Abraham, and so him and his wife received from the Lord what God had in store for them. God is coming through for you. He has something powerful and beautiful for you. Just position yourself to receive. There are three things that are going to position you to receive First of all, the word of God, the word that positions you. Secondly, your faith, the faith that positions you. And thirdly, your actions, the action that positions you.

Speaker 1:

Let me just read this word concerning Abraham and how he was positioned in Romans, chapter 4, from verse 18 to verse 21. Or just as it had been said to him so shall be your offspring. Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead, since he was about a hundred years old, and that Sarah's womb was also dead. Yet the Bible says he did not waver through unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong, fully persuaded that God was able to do that which he had promised. I say three things from the life of Abraham. First of all, he was positioned by God's promise and by God's word. God spoke to Abraham and Sarah promised them a baby. He was only 75 years old and he took that word, and he seriously took it as his word. There is a promise for you. There is a word for you. You better know this word, get to know this word.

Speaker 1:

Joshua 1.8 says this book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may be careful to do according to all that's written in it, for then you shall make your way prosperous and you shall make your path successful. There is a word that positions you, and that is the word of God, the words of men for a period, but you can take God's word to the bank. God's word, his promise, position you. In fact, the Bible says all the promises of God are yes and amen in Christ Jesus and that God is not a man that he should lie or a son of man that he should repent. Has he said, will he not do it? Has he spoken, will he not fulfill it?

Speaker 1:

The second thing that positions you is your faith. Abraham believed again. He saw hope and he never doubted, from age 75, when he received God's word that he would be a father of nations, to the age of 100 years, when actually he got a son called Isaac. It was a whole 25 years. His faith remained consistent and firm and he never wavered about his faith.

Speaker 1:

If you believe and do not doubt, you are positioned to receive. God's provision is coming, god's promise is coming through. Be expectant, don't give up. Continue to stay there in the place of faith, because God is coming through. You are positioned to believe by your faith and according to your faith, you shall actually receive. Hebrews 11.1 says faith is assurance of things hopeful, the conviction of things not seen. I encourage you to hold on to that faith Against all hope. Believe, but finally, you are positioned to receive by your action, the things you do. Act like God has answered. If you are believing God for rain, start going outside there with an umbrella and hold it up over your head. When people ask you why are you walking with an umbrella and there is no rain, you say it's because I believe God is sending the rain and walk with an umbrella because you believe what God has said, that rain is coming. And I say to you rain is coming, the blessing of God is coming through. Begin to behave like you have already received.

Speaker 1:

You know there's a lady, a widow, in 2 Kings 4, verse 5 and 6. She had lost her husband. The creditors came. They were taking everything. Prophet Elisha came to the homestead. Then the prophet told her with a little jar of oil she had go get so many jars from your neighbors. And this lady in verse 5 and 6 of 2 Kings 4 believed and started acting. The jars were brought in and she used her little jar and filled all the six big jars there with the oil from a small jar. God is coming through. He's coming through in a big way. Believe to start to believe, start to act. What you believe, god's word, your faith and your action. Position you to receive, and I urge you now to pray. Matthew 7, 7 says ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened for you. God is ready to come through for you. Simply position yourself to receive, in Jesus' name, amen.
