Have you ever wondered why some prayers seem to go unanswered? Why blessings that should have arrived long ago still haven't materialized? The answer might lie not in God's willingness, but in our receptivity.

Drawing from the powerful account in Mark 6, where Jesus himself was limited in performing miracles in his hometown of Nazareth, we uncover three critical hindrances that block God's uncommon blessings in our lives. This eye-opening exploration reveals how doubt, disobedience, and sin create roadblocks that delay or prevent divine intervention.

The first barrier – doubt – operates like a spiritual circuit breaker, cutting power to our faith connection. As James reminds us, the doubter "should not expect to receive anything from the Lord." When Jesus faced the skepticism of Nazareth, even his divine power was hindered by their unbelief. Contrast this with Abraham, who "did not waver through unbelief" but grew strong in faith, becoming "fully persuaded" that God would fulfill his promises.

Disobedience forms the second barrier, as Jesus clearly stated in John 14:21 that obedience to his commands creates the pathway through which he manifests himself. Like Abraham and Sarah, who left their comfortable life in Ur to follow God's seemingly foolish direction, our blessings often lie on the other side of obedience that defies conventional logic.

Finally, we confront the sobering reality of sin as the ultimate separator between us and God. Isaiah 59:2 reveals how our transgressions cause God to "hide his face" from us. Yet the blood of Jesus offers fresh cleansing when we confess rather than conceal our failures.

Ready to clear these hindrances from your life? Join us in dismantling these barriers and creating an environment where God's uncommon power can flow freely. It's time to experience the miracles that have been waiting in the wings of your life.

Speaker 1:

I greet you in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior, jesus Christ, and I'm very excited to bring us the Word of God today from the book of Mark, chapter 6, and I'll be reading verse 4 and also verse 5. The theme of this word is hindrances to uncommon reception. God wants to move in our lives, but there are certain things that either hinder or slow down the move of God, and in today's word I want to highlight these things, three things that actually hinder the uncommon in our lives. God wants to move in uncommon ways, but there are three things that hinder the move of God ways. But there are three things that hinder the move of God, and it's possible. Probably there is a blessing that's supposed to have come your way one year ago but has delayed, or it's hindered because of something in the pathways, and so these are the areas I want us to focus on and pray that today we would pray to get them out of our lives, because God wants to do great and mighty things in our lives.

Speaker 1:

In Mark, chapter 6, verse 4 and 5, this is what he says. Jesus said to them a prophet is not without honor except in his own town. Remember Jesus at this time was in his hometown, nazareth. At this time was in his hometown, nazareth, among his relatives and in his own home. He could not do any miracles there, except lay hands on a few people who are ill and heal them. Let me add verse 6 as well. He was amazed at their lack of faith. Jesus was in his hometown, but in his hometown he could not perform the miracles he was performing elsewhere. What was the problem? What was hindering the uncommon to happen? You know the blessings and miracles of God to happen in Nazareth.

Speaker 1:

Three things. One of them is doubt, doubt. The second one is disobedience and the third one is sin. Let me start with doubt. In the book of James, chapter 1, verse 6 and verse 7, it says when you ask, don't doubt, because he who doubts is like the wave of the sea, which is tossed this way and tossed the other way, and such a person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Doubt, which means unbelief, which means lack of faith. Where there is no faith, god will not move, the blessing of God will not flow, the miracles of God will not be seen. I encourage you to believe in God. Believe in God like a baby. You know the way the child. A child is held by a parent and a child puts their whole weight in the hands of the parent, believing that the hands of the parent will carry the child. And the child has no worry when they are resting in the arms of their parents. I challenge you to believe in God a hundred percent and you will see the uncommon. Uncommon If you are to receive the uncommon, then do not doubt.

Speaker 1:

Romans, chapter 4, from verse 18 to 21, talking about Abraham who waited for a baby for a long time. It says no doubt made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong, fully persuaded that God, it says. But secondly, disobedience In John 14, verse 21,. The Bible says he who has my word and keeps it, he it is who loves me, and he who loves me will be loved by my Father. It's Jesus speaking and he says I will manifest, I will do great things through them and also in their lives.

Speaker 1:

Disobedience when we know what God wants us to do and then we don't do it, then we don't see the miracles of God, then we don't become good receptors of the uncommon and the blessing of God is slowed down or completely hindered from moving. I challenge you. When you read the word of God, live according to it. Obey what God is saying. He knows why he's saying it. Some of it looks foolish, some of it looks funny, but when God tells you to do something, just simply do it.

Speaker 1:

Abraham and Sarah Genesis, chapter 12, they were told to leave their town. It was called UR and you know Abraham and Sarah. These are great fathers of obedience. They just simply followed God's word. They looked mad, it looked funny, but their blessing was where God's word was leading them. So obey God's word.

Speaker 1:

But finally, sin. Sin is the third hindrance to uncommon reception. In Isaiah 59 and verse 2, it says your sin has separated you from me. God is saying your sin has separated me from me. God is saying your sin has separated me from you. And he says because of your sin, I have turned my face away from you and I cannot hear. Sin is an obstruction, is a hindrance to the move of God, and I also challenge you to come to God and confess your sins, based on John, chapter 1, verse 9 and 10. If anyone says they have no sin, they deceive themselves and they call God a liar. The truth is not in them. But if we confess our sins, then God is just and faithful to forgive all our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Speaker 1:

And today I want to encourage us to clear all the roadblocks, all the hindrances to uncommon reception, and I have shared three of them. And today I just want to remind you that God wants to answer. Speak to that doubt, ask it to move away. Speak to that disobedience. Clear it in your path. And also speak to that sin, disobedience. Clear it in your path and also speak to that sin and the blood of Jesus is fresh. Clear it in your paths. And if you clear these things, then I promise you you'll see the hand of God. In Nazareth they could not see God's hand. Jesus was there. He could not perform a miracle because of these things in the path of their lives. So let's clear this in our homes, in our cities, in our churches, and we shall see miracles and blessings happen. In Jesus' name, god bless you as you clear those hindrances, amen.
