SPEAKER_00

Well, praise the Lord Church. It's such an honor to connect with you through this platform. My name is Pastor Maxine Jogona, youth pastor here at Parklands Baptist Church. It's such an honor to connect with you through this platform as we share with you the word of the week. And I want to bring your attention to the scripture of the day-to-day. 1 Peter chapter 1 from verse 17 to 19. I'm going to read this version, the Berea's Standard Bible, as we connect in this moment. 1 Peter 1 17 to 19 says, Since you call on a Father who judges each one's work impartially, conduct yourselves in reverent fear during your stay as foreigners. For you know that it was not with perishable things, such as silver or gold, that you were redeemed from the empty way of life that you inherited from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot. And I want to focus on verse 18. It says, We have not been purchased with perishable things such as silver or gold, but we have been redeemed from the empty way of life that we have inherited from our forefathers. And I want to bring to attention the power of bloodline blessings, the power of bloodline blessings. Because for a blessing to take effect, it means that there has a switch has happened, and that which was a curse, that which had been castigated in places of darkness, God has been able to redeem it to become a token of light, which is a moment of blessing. And Peter speaking says that we were not bought with perishable things because gold and silver are important ingredients of life. But he says, when it came to our own redemption, God had to search for a deeper, a deeper way of getting us unstuck from the corridors of darkness. And the scriptures tell us that we have been purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ. Secondly, he says that we have been moved from the emptiness of life that was passed on to us by our forefathers. Because those who have gone before us, most of them, when you look at even the African context and the African cultures, most of our forefathers were idol worshippers, people who centered themselves on ancestral spirits, those who did not have a regard for the things of God. But the powerful thing about the blood of Jesus Christ is it has washed away the past of our sins because we have now been entered into a new bloodline. So beyond the physical blood that flows within your veins, spiritually speaking, there is a change that has happened. And therefore, the transfer that has happened in the spirit has now commanded possibilities for us in the physical. It therefore means it doesn't matter how you start. What matters is how you have been redeemed. When the blood of Jesus Christ has furnished itself within our lives and completed its work, then no matter the background, no matter the disadvantages we may have come from, no matter the emptiness of life that may have been passed to us and the gaps of life that may have challenged us as we went through life, all those things are swallowed away by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. And then he says, This is a precious blood of Christ, because this was a lamb that was without blemish or wrinkle, meaning that Jesus Christ is a perfect sacrifice for you and I. Nothing can be added to the blood of Jesus. It is already complete because this was a lamb that had no blemish. There was no wrinkle that was attached to this lamb. And therefore, this qualifies us to be able to welcome this moment with great, great reception of thanksgiving. And verse 20 closes by saying, He was known before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in the last times for our sake. The Bible says that Jesus was slain before the foundations of the earth. The intelligence of God was so previewed that God saw what would happen to his people, and foundationally the curse of the cross had already been initiated, that a switch would happen. And when Jesus now finally died on the cross physically, it was a signpost and a full signature that our sins have been rolled away. This week, the Lord is calling us to walk in the full redemption package that we have received through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. And many things will come to deter you. Many things will remind you of where you are coming from. Many things will remind you of what has not worked in your life. Many voices will come into your life as you go through the workplace, as you go through your family rigors. Many things come to remind you of what you have not yet done or what you have not received. All those things begin to fall down when you come to the realization that you have the bloodline that has captured every good blessing upon your life. And therefore, I declare to you may we walk in the overflow of the blessings from the complete work of our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you, and we look forward to seeing you in the next broadcast. Amen.
