Morning Greeting And Theme

SPEAKER_00

Good morning. I bring you the word of the day. Even as we come to the tail end of the month of March, I believe the theme for the month has been impacted. You've been able to understand it in depth. And as we come to culmination of it, I want to talk about the power and the blessing of a sacrifice. The power and the blessing of a sacrifice. Let me say life is actually maintained by different sacrifices that people do. But for the context of this message, this very morning, I want us to reflect on three levels. A sacrifice that actually redeems a family, a sacrifice that redeems a nation, and also to understand the ultimate sacrifice that redeemed humanity. The sacrifice, 2 Samuel chapter 24, from verse 18, it says, On that day, God went to David and said to him, Go up and build an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Aluna the Jebusite. So David went up as the Lord had commanded through God. When Aluna looked and saw the king and his official coming down to him, he went out and bowed down before the king with his face to the ground. Aluna said, Where has my the Lord, my Lord the king, come to his servant to buy you a threshing floor? David answered, so that I can build an altar to the Lord, that the plague on the people may be stopped. Aluna said to David, Let my Lord the king take whatever he wishes and offer it up. Here are oxen for the burnt offerings, and here are the threshing sledges and ox yolks for the wood. Yet your majesty Aruna gives all this to the king. Aruna also said to him, May the Lord your God accept you. But the king replied, and this is the highlight for this message. But the king replied to Runa, No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing, the cost of sacrifice and the power of sacrifice. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them. David built an altar to the Lord there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. Then the Lord answered his prayer on behalf of the Lord, and the plague on Israel was stopped. May we know, even as we pray, there's a prayers actually that need to be accompanied with a sacrifice. And you see, in a family setting, like it was for Abraham, building and being a man who is recorded actually the man of God's faith, the man of faith, he offered, by that faith, he offered a sacrifice of his own son and a family, a generation, actually was redeemed. Second, you'll be able to see how Noah also, a covenant sacrifice. He built an altar after the flood, and God established a covenant with his descendants, a sacrifice that redeems a family. But also number two, a sacrifice that redeems the nation. And you can see how David in verse 24 he offered and he said, I will not offer whatever costs nothing for my God. And because of that, a plague was stopped. And judge, judgment that was meant to be for that nation, God showed mercy, and a temple was established. And therefore, this is a good story for us to culminate as they come to the tail end of the of this month. May we understand this. We also see Elijah in 1 King. You may not have to, but you can read it on your first Kings chapter 18, from verse 30 to 1239. You'll be able to see Elijah's story on the Baal and their sacrifice that came when he prayed. And a nation was redeemed. A sacrifice that redeems a family. May you are standing there for your family. Build prayer. What can you offer for your family? As a sacrifice to the altar of God. But the third one is a sacrifice that actually now we understand as believers. A sacrifice that redeems and redeemed us the ultimate sacrifice that God gave. God being God, He gives the ultimate sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ. His only Son, His only begotten Son. And therefore, I we entered into once for all through his own blood. A perfect sacrifice that secured an entire redemption. And that frees us from living in sin. And therefore we are redeemed. And this very morning, and this as we come to the tail end of this month, I remind you, there's a sacrifice. And that way that sacrifice has power and redeems a family that redeems a nation. And also understanding that beyond this life here on earth, the sacrifice that our Savior, if we believe and we connect into it, we are redeemed to eternal life. And I pray that may we be found. May we study in our family. May you study for a nation as we pray for a nation. May you offer a sacrifice for our family, for the nation, through Jesus Christ, through our fail, our Heavenly Father, who showed us that it's impossible to offer a sacrifice. He offered the only Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. And I wish you all the best. May the Lord be with us. God bless you. Shalom.
